So I was putting the team together for my battle with Button, and I realized something. Are we allowed to use moves that our drafted pokemon learned new in USUM? Can Eevee (even though nobody has it) and its evolutions have Celebrate, can Buzzwole have Drain Punch, etc?

Are you making multiple teams or did you forget that you face Azure?

And....I think its only fair otherwise people will have to look up the differences and that's a pain. Granted it changes the tiers up but I think it's the best way to handle it.

Valerie would scold you for your lack of vigor, young man.

Why you go into the physical rock type on Ferrothorn O.o

Though one thing you gotta look out for is you try to set up too often.

With that, Azure solidly places himself in 3rd, Yui still at 4th. But only for the moment. Whoever wins Button vs Lujan I believe will move to 4th, barely.

Okkkk kso I have been brainstorming for an OM that's technically more creative than 260 cup but feels a bit too much like 350 Cup or MNM

The current working title is "Mirror Image." Essentially, by making a Pokemon Shiny, its stats all become 150, then its normal stats are subtracted from the 150 stats.

Here's what would happen if you used Shiny Pikachu:

VcYpmlY.gif

35 -> 115
55 -> 95
40 -> 110
50 -> 100
50 -> 100
90 -> 60

(obviously having such high stats + movepool + light ball would be banworthy but you get the picture)

Alternatively, if you used Garchomp:

yPHPncY.gif
108 -> 42
130 -> 20
95 -> 55
80 -> 70
85 -> 65
102 -> 48

It's basically garbage (if you turn it Shiny).

The only thing that bothers me about this meta is that it works similarly to Tier Shift but with fewer threats (not to say that Tier Shift wasn't just OU anyway).
Another option is to have the stats read in reverse (which is probably already a thing, I think):

VcYpmlY.gif
35 -> 90
55 -> 50
40 -> 50
50 -> 40
50 -> 55
90 -> 35

yPHPncY.gif
108 -> 102
130 -> 85
95 -> 80
80 -> 95
85 -> 130
102 -> 108

I'm being told by the OMs room that this doesn't already exist so I think the latter may be better than the former.

Let me know what you guys think.

This more or less existed in Gen 6, but never really took off.

I'm also going to assume that you handle stats normally at more than 150 the same as in that thread.

I like more the concept of reversed stats. Speedy Pokemon become bulky, and vice-versa, defensive Pokemon become offensive, and vice-versa. Sounds exciting and I would be intrigued on how the metagame would turn out. The mere idea of Garchomp, because it's the one in the example, turning into a Sp.Def tank is really amusing for me xD

EDIT:

Speaking of OMs, I also thought of something:

BST 600 (or BST League, or some other fancy name)

Wouldn't be surprised if it is or has been a thing, but the main idea is raising the stats equally, of all fully evolved Pokemon, as well as mega evolutions, with BSTs lower than 600, to as closest as possible to 600, the BST of Mew-type legendaries and pseudo legendaries. It may be similar to Smogon's Scalemons but the differences are that there is no formula here, HP is changed, and pre-evolutions are not affected.

That means that, for example Snorlax, with 540 BST, will have to gain +60 stats equally distributed on the 6 stats, or the closest as possible, then rounded down. It its case it would be +10 to all stats, so:

160 -> 170

110 -> 120

65 -> 75

65 -> 75

110 -> 120

30 -> 40

Now, it may not seem that much in Pokemon that already have BSTs close to 600, but when taking a Pokemon that normally has much lower BST, namely Sunflora:

600 - 425 = 175, then 175/6 = 29 (rounded down)

75 -> 104
75 -> 104
55 -> 84
105 -> 134
85 -> 114
30 -> 59

It now becomes a Pokemon with a decent special bulk and an outstanding Sp.Atk, backed up by its abilities Chlorophyll or Solar Power, plus its unique movepool with access to moves like Earth Power.
As for why only fully evolved or single evolution Pokemon, it's to not mess with things like Eviolite or Light Ball, or pre-evolutions having similar BSTs as their last evolutions, but with an advantage through any different abilities, also IDK you but it would be weird if the meta was dominated by, let's say, baby Pokemon xD
This is up to discussion, though. Another thing up to discussion is dropping down Pokemon with BST higher than 600 to 600 in a similar way, perhaps including megas, who would still retain a niche due to their ability and/or Type changes.

This also exists. It's called Scalemons, although it handles the stats a bit differently, also remembering to decrease the stats of Pokemon above 600 BST.

Yeah, I found about Scalemons, but things are quite different there. For instance, in that metagame pre-evos get insane boosts on their lowest stats through the formula, due to their low HPs. The metagame I suggest would be more stable in that regard, and in theory it should be easier for players to grasp a metagame because the major change would be that most Pokemon have the same BSTs, but with roughly their same original stat distribution so whatever role they had or have in the lower tiers could be translated to OU. Also there wouldn't be as many OU viable Pokemon to mix and match since pre-evos aren't affected.

This was my first Team I ever played with on Showdown.

What do you think of it? It´s an OU-Team.

[team]

Actually since Mega Gengar is Uber it can't be in OU. That being said...

Psychic is unnecessary on Gengar imo

Primarina and Ampharos are sadly not strong enough for OU. Plus for Specs you want more power so Thunderbolt, also Volt Switch is usually too good to pass up especially on specs/scarf mons.

Max Attack and Defense is kind of a....odd choice in general, the Metagross set would usually be kind of dead on the water due to being outsped by a lot. Several mons on your own team would destroy it in fact.

Physical Ash-Gren is super iffy tbh, it just isn't quite strong enough and when there's things like Landorus in OU it hurts it more.

I like Rocky Helmet Garchomp but it really needs to have more HP for it, plus the moveset is confusing. Shadow Claw doesn't really do much for it.

Overall the main issue I see is that you lack both speed and non-offensive moves. Tanky mons, set up mons, and hazards can really tear through the team. Not to mention anything with Earthquake basically means your team loses.

....I don't mean to sound harsh lol sorry

For some small things in general, usually if you're gonna be max attack and bulky you go with HP. And if you are gonna have something with Rocky Helmet you usually want it to have more defensive spreads and sets. Such as Stealth Rocks, Dragon Tail, etc etc.

Though Tank-Chomp has fallen off a bit in my experience.

Oh yeah, sorry, it´s an Uber-Team, I´ve forgotten this.

Thank you very much for your reply :)

I don´t share this opinion, because I always won with this Team (just one time I lost). I know it´s not the best Team, but I wanted to post my first Team :)

Maybe I can change something :)

I used to play a bit of STABmons back in Gen 5 and 6. It is a pretty fun tier, not sure what's up with it now but I remember Silvally being the worst thing ever when I played a bit of it.

Took a look at recent replays, and seems Tail Glow Bugs like Yanmega (+Oblivion Wing) and Araquanid are all the rage now.  Extremespeed Normals like Diggersby and M-Loppuny were recurring, too. Also Diamond Storm on Rocks like Tyranitar, Terrakion.

Hey guys

There's now a 260/Junior Cup Discord

The meta has now expanded to allow anything up to 269 to participate. Also, Makuhita, Guts, Hustle, Pikipek, Water Bubble, and Arena Trap have been banned.

If you want to help test this metagame, feel free to join. The information on the format is here.

I never expected to see Pikipek banned from anything.

Because Normal is an unresisted type, SD with such a high base attack stat accompanied by Boomburst was simply too much.

We’re currently testing Normalize along with Skitty and Rattata-Alola. So far Skitty has turned out to be quite the dark horse.

You’re welcome to participate if you’d like.

There really isn't any Ghost with 269 or less BST? Intriguing.

Also, is there a way to make the OM I described before on my own? I would very much like to try it somehow. Curious on how the meta would shape up in a format where most fully evolved Pokemon are theoretically viable, if only due to 600 BSTs. Perhaps some bans would need to be made, like Huge Power and Water Bubble.

I'll try and build for this, alongside OU. It's been so long since I've build anything so this should be fun
