Finalization of the YCM Economy Plan

Below are the sample prices and point earnings that will form the basis of the YCM economy. The details must first be approved by the moderators of each section, but this is an estimate of what will work best.

YCM SITE SHOP

The following items will be available in the shop.

  • Name Change - 3000 points
  • Color Topic Title - 2000 points (note that editing your topic removes the color)
  • VIP Membership - 1000 points/month
  • Custom Membership - 1200 points/month
  • YCM Premium Themes - ??? (still being worked out) Themes cannot be bought, but VIP Member Groups can access them.

MODERATOR FAVORS

The following you will have to send points to a moderator and ask them to do it.

  • Profile Music - 3000 points
  • Custom Member Group - 10000 points

POINTS PER POST/TOPIC

Varies depending on the forum, but unless otherwise specified, each post gives you 10 points, and each topic gives you 25.

 

POINTS EARNING

 

Questions/Help - Earn 300 points for getting Best Answer.
 
Suggestions - Earn 500 for a suggestion that gets implemented.
 
Custom Cards 
  • Single Card reviews get 300 points, reviews in Multiple Cards where there are more than 5 cards get 500 points. Reviews must be cashed in by posting in the a specified pinned thread in the section. Only 3-5 reviews can be cashed in per week. Ones that don’t meet the moderator’s standards count towards this limit, so quality is more important than quantity.
  • Card Contests by Qualified Judges get 200 points for each submitting member to be added to the pot.
 
TCG
  • 10 points for each post in a thread you made.
  • Tournaments get funding of 200 points for each participant.
  • Maybe a review reward system for Decks.
 
Creative Writing
  • 250 points per 1000 words in Creative Writing main forum.
  • 750 points per valid review. Reviews must be cashed in.
 
Roleplay Section
  • 300 points for successfully started RP.
  • 50 points per post in IC.
  • 1000 points per post to be divided among the RPers when RP finishes.
 
General - 10 points for each post in a thread you made.

plus you guys have talents in art, you can charge pretty much whatever you want for sigs and shit, you can have price wars

 

or price fixing, either one.

 

OT: Honestly, it seems like the prices could be simplified at bit. Using larger numbers just for the sake of it is silly, does the software just not allow smaller things? o-o

 

Also what Mako said would be nice to know, how much of this is automated?

I've already separated them between the automated Shop items and those you have to ask a mod for.

VIP will have benefits and shit, as well as a colored name and a cool thing on the side like Mods do. The design is to be made, though I'm probably going to ask you Showcase people to make it.

 

Custom lets you join a Custom Member Group.

 

Custom Group lets you create your own member group, and edit the aesthetics. Also, you can tell us who is and isn't allowed in the Member Group.

We aren't going to be resetting the points, so those who already have a lot of points would be overwhelmingly rich. Also, I already made the prices this way, too lazy to change now.

Not shop items. I'm referring to points distributions for various actions. Are they ALL automated?

Indeed. Not to mention that automatizing them probably is impossible anyway.

Anyway, personally the points related to word count is ridiculously impractical. I'd rather do a chapter-per-chapter basis as long as it's in enough length for a chapter.

Also, the cash-in system needs more description.

Prices still feel a bit odd to me. However, I might just be undervaluing the amount of work it takes to actually do some of those tasks, so it's probably just me.

It's just I only look for answers to questions I care about (aka only my question) so I missed the answer on my first pass.  We gucci.

Probably not, we have to assert our place as dictators of this site.

 

In all seriousness, no, especially considering we have control over points and stuff.

@Goose, well, even with this applied, moderators have 3 name changes slot per 30 days iirc.

Anyway, would the cash-in system apply only in RC, and if it applies everywhere else, will it be contained in a PM, a thread in each section, or just a thread for the whole site?

I'd say a thread in each section, since it'd be the section moderator governing it.
