Do we have anymore info on this? Is this really another DM bait movie or are Yugi and Kaiba here just plain bait?

I'd love a movie about the post-Zexal war against the leftover chaos. But I'm finding it a bit hard to get hyped without any info other than: "oh look more things to get nostalgiafags bouncing". ... Though, I personally just don't like the DM era anymore. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was made to sell all of that Memorial of the Duel King merchandise n' shit.

or maybe it's actually pure original with movie-exclusive cast
maybe duel terminal

i dont know hurry up next week pls

It definitely won't happen, but I'm hoping that the Yugi & Kaiba silhouettes are just to get the attention of YGO fans, and it turns out that this movie is finally Duel Terminal given the form of a narrative.  Just the thought that there's even the tiniest sliver of hope that I'm actually somehow right is generating immense quantities of hype over here.  Please be Duel Terminal, please be Duel Terminal, please be Duel Terminal...

This. You know I would spazz so hard if I see my beloved Lswarms take the big screen! Really though, they should make DT into a series or movie, it's got enough lore to be any of those and more (comic/manga, book series).

Sounds neat.

Great, now I have the urge to go re-watch everything. I don't think I've made it all the way through any of the series.

I'd say just go straight to arc-V

All but one main character and one 1-off are enjoyable, and the writing for most episodes has been great.
Except Shun vs Sora, 'cause Vanishing Linius and trolly RUMs/ backrow.

To be fair, the RUMs and the new support were nice. The main problem was Shun still didn't play a new main deck monster or any Rank 4 not Rise Falcon.
Sooooo 2016....

This is the Yugi that GX didn't let us see (yeah he pretty much looks the same but animation has improved ever since).

I have still always thought that there is a plan involving all series making previous main characters' actions after their time a little bit of a mystery.

This movie seems to be taking place with the Kaiba and Yugi post Atem leaving.

wow, I never noticed kaiba had the kaibacorp logo on his collar. Can't ay I'm surprised, but it was still a funny realisation. Wonder if all his clothes are branded.

2016 is the 20th anniversary or so I'm told, so this may be another crossover between the continuities. Hope so, I really want to see some of the other main's alongside (or against) yugi, without a "hur dur, yugi wins by default" attitude that normally plagues any mention of the scenario.

Also, might wanna change the year in the title of the thread.

I'm more or less disgusted to see DM get more shit.

I know it's their anniversary, but how about celebrating it with new stuff? You would think they'd be more proud with how far they've come with the newer eras, not how they keep putting DM over it.

Well let's think over this

DM: Hammy, but at least it's the beginning
GX: ... only the dub is good and only because it takes the piss out of itself
5D's: 75% mediocre to bad 25% good, but has a lot of hype built in, and has a concept that works surprisingly well. Synchros are also a well designed mechanic.
ZeXal: PFFFFFFFFFFFT HAHAHAHA oh you were serious
Arc-V: Thus far, their best achievement in terms of show. The gamestate associated with it is worse than ever, but... the show itself has 30 out of 33 decent or better episodes but it's still new

They don't really have a lot to celebrate. I feel the same as you do about DM, but...

Celebrating that they've gotten 20 years through with this series and got five generations of it going should be enough.

Plus, Arc-V is still pumping out at least one full season by the time 2016 hits. That's plenty of material to use to throw Yuya in a movie.
