The [Un]Official Card Wars Thread

We all remember the Card Wars episode of Adventure Time, right?  From what I have seen, a TCG actually managed to slip by underneath our noses last year with two duel sets: Finn vs. Jake and BeeMO vs. Lady Rainicorn.

Probably the biggest mechanic that makes this different from any other TCG is the Lane System.  Before the game starts, each player can customize their 4 lanes to fit the style of the Deck being played.  As the name implies, creatures do battle against other creatures in the same column as themselves.  Of course, So far, there are five different types of lanes, for of which are known: Blue Plains, Cornfield, Useless Swamp and Sandyland.  The cards are also categorized into the different lanes as well.

The gameplay itself is slightly reminiscent to Magic: the Gathering with the Mulligan and Floop mechanics, but with a good number of differences:

-During a respective player's turn, that player's Action Counters are set to 2.  You use Action Counters to play cards.

-You can pay an Action Counter to draw 1 card.

-You can only play clan creatures and buildings if you control 2 or more lanes types of that creature/building's clan.  Spells are a bit forgiving in the fact that you only need to control 1 lane of that Spell's clan to play.

-Rainbow Cards can be played regardless of what lanes you control.

-1 creature and building per lane.

-You can replace creatures in your lane by sending it to the discard pile and playing a new creature over it.

Of course, there are certain cards that can flip the lanes face-down, which means that it no longer counts towards the lanes you control (Cards such as The Pig and Husker Worm do this).  That means you can't play Creatures/Buildings on that lane and you don't get that lane's type for your cards to play.  But, there are also cards that can flip the lanes face-up as well (Cards such as Big Foot and Reclaim Landscape do this).

Because of how the action system is, a card will not exceed more than two action counters.

The goal of the game is to wipe out your opponent's 25 hit points, which are done by:

-Destroying a monster they control, which inflicts 1 damage.

-If your opponent does not control a monster in a lane, but you control a monster in that lane, then you can attack directly and inflict damage to your opponent.

The game is pretty fun, and the cards actually do feel high-quality.
