While I like Nidoking better, I do still have a soft spot for Nidoqueen. They're always interesting to use, because of the balanced stats and movepool.

My vote goes to the only Fairy type legendary in existence right now (and my nomination).

Come on Xerneas, you got past Round 1 this time; now advance!

Voting for Xerneas because it looks more majestic and regal than Nidoqueen.

Indeed, Xerneas is literally the fairy god due to its legendary Poke status & has the majesty worthy of such a rank.

 

What does Nidoqueen have to offer? Yeah, it learns a lot of different moves, but unlike its relative, Nidoqueen's a defender and even so, offenses aren't high enough to dent Xerneas (even with maximum power output).

 

Too lazy to do damage output, but a simple Psyshock off of a trained Xerneas (assume both at level 100) probably can kill Nidoqueen in a single shot.

I like the lower tiers better than Ubers though so for me , competitively, Xerneas isn't really on my radar.

However not why I chose Nidoqueen anyway. ^^

If this were Smogon, Xerneas would be curbstomping stuff by now; but this isn't Showdown.

But I never said that you couldn't use competitive logic for votes.

I don't think it's fair to compare the two from a competitive standpoint - it's not exactly an even fight when you're comparing a Pokemon from Uber against one from UU anyways. Nevertheless, while we're talking competitive here, I respect Nidoqueen for the fact that it can thrive in UU with its mediocre stats - Sheer Force, Life Orb, and Nidoqueen's impressive movepool makes her quite fun to use.

With that said, I've always had a soft side for Nidoqueen - she's been one of my favorites from Gen I for a while. I like her design, and the fact that she's turquoise-colored makes me happy. I don't hate Xerneas, but I don't hold it in the same regard as Nidoqueen - so Nidoqueen gets my vote.

 

 

EDIT: By the way, I just did a calculation for fun, and it turns out a Psyshock from Xerneas wouldn't be able to OHKO Nidoqueen (Psychic would have a slightly better chance of doing so, though it's not guaranteed) - on the other hand, a Sludge Wave from Nidoqueen would be able to OHKO Xerneas for sure :p

As stated in various other matches, this is more or less a popularity contest of sorts.

Competitive logic is fine as a vote, but isn't required.

 

If this were Smogon, half the entries would be banned by now.

If that were the case, Mewtwo would be screwing everything in Ubers (or Rayquaza, etc).

As for OU, probably Eons or some other relevant thing. 

 

Then again, they change every so often.

Still a close game though, but Nidoqueen has the edge for now.

Huh. I never knew Nidoqueen could do that, that's interesting. Course this is without Geomancy/White Herb stuff. But it's interesting to think about.

Still like Nidoqueen just a little better, regardless of competitive.

I've always liked Nidoqueen more than Nidoking. It's cool and blue and beautiful. Like a strong, angry mother.

It would seem that the battle of fairies vs poison has ended in a 6-6 draw.

 

Both the Kalosian life god deer and the poisonous mother advance to Round 3. 

In Xerneas's case, it has a comrade to avenge; like one of its fellow legendaries.
