Kingdom Hearts III Update!

Recommended Posts

I'm fine with Star Wars, but I don't like Marvel in KH series.Way too much to cover up and manipulate and "Disnefy". it would be a complete mess whatever the outcome. The only thing I would be ok with is some Marvel character being in Olympus Coliseum for some reason.

Also just ordered KH2 Remix so looking forward to that.

Dec 31st is almost always a placeholder.  It means it will probably be released some time in 2015.

And even then, it probably won't be in 2015. For all we know, it could take until 2016 for us to get it.

Plus, looking up December 31 of 2015, and that's a Thursday. I would think that Kingdom Hearts III would come out on either Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, with Tuesday being the most likely assumption. Plus, I'm sure if you were to look up something with an unknown release date, you'll see something similar. For example, Zelda Wii U, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Yoshi's Wooly World, and Majora's Mask 3D are all listed as coming out on December 31st, even though Yoshi's Wooly World was said at E3 this year to be aimed for the first half of the year, and Majora's Mask 3D was announced with a release date of spring. What I'm saying is that you shouldn't start getting yourself hyped for some expectation that it will be released then, and no, just because YWW and MM3D are coming out before December doesn't magically mean that KH3 will be out before then as well.

Anyway, onto the topic at hand…

I would not be opposed to Marvel and Star Wars in Kingdom Hearts. That said, I don't want them in Kingdom Hearts III. Given the sheer amount of material to choose from, they should be saved until the next saga, and even then, changing the focus to either of those would be limited compared to the range of Disney characters they've been using, while at the same time, keeping it to just Star Wars and Marvel would be very weird. Either have something specifically for Star Wars, and something just for Marvel. Something like "Kingdom Hearts: Star Wars" and "Kingdom Hearts: Marvel".

Now, looking at it from a rights standpoint, while I think Star Wars could be implemented with ease, Marvel is a bit trickier. Isaac Perlmutter, the current CEO of Marvel, is a bit… shall we say vindictive. He resents Fox, since they're still holding the film rights to the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. There's been controversy among Marvel's readers that, given the comics' tendency to reflect the movies, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four are going to be downplayed. It's a bit harder with the X-Men, given the number of books in that brand, but the Fantastic Four book has been cancelled, presumably out of spite for the impending Fantastic Four film reboot. If you want to say how that's an issue between the comics and the movies, and thus shouldn't be considered about this, then I will point you to Disney Infinity. There are no X-Men or Fantastic Four characters. Now, you might be thinking why Spider-Man is in Disney Infinity, despite having his film rights owned by Sony. See, they're going with the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon for the basis of Spider-Man, and given how Sony and Marvel are apparently in the middle of negotiations, Marvel is closer to where they want to be with Spider-Man, so it stands to reason that Perlmutter's issues with Fox do not extend to Sony.

To make a long story short, if people want Marvel characters in this, don't count on whatever Fox has to show up. Nomura has made it pretty clear that Disney really gets the final say on this, and even though I think that someone like Bob Iger would be able to overrule what Disney Interactive tells Nomura, there might be some sort of internal agreement where Disney Interactive has to listen to Marvel. So if this were to ever happen, and you're not happy with a lack of certain Marvel characters, then get mad at Perlmutter, not Nomura.

Deadpool has a healing factor (Even though he probably wouldn't be in the game for the reasons I said…), but Kefka could be beaten by Sora, even if he'd be superboss material like Sephiroth. I could see Minamimoto losing to Sora, though it'd be harder if Minamimoto was in his Taboo form.

Come to think of it, I think Big Hero 6 would be the most likely Marvel property to be in Kingdom Hearts III first, but that's because of the animated movie, so it has more to do with being a Disney Animation work, and less because of its ties to Marvel. In which, BRING ON BAYMAX.

Deadpool has gone through stuff like being beheaded, stabbed through the brain, and locked in a small room for 800 years playing hangman with a split personality he cultivated. There's also the fact he literally can't die, Lady Death wouldn't let him, even if he wasn't cursed with immortality by Thanos.

There's not much Sora could do to him.

What about Kefka and Sho?

Yeah, Disney gods. Him beating up on James Woods as Hades is different from him beating up Kefka's god form.

I'm not getting into a debate about this because there's no real way to compare the power level of the characters.

Point being. Sora can face-off against nearly anyone if they so desire.
