The teachers I've had have never really done this a whole lot so I can't really relate.

 

But I have watched enough anime (and these are clearly accurate portrayals of real life) where it does happen to know that it probably isn't any fun.

Back in highschool, I remember there's always that one girl that always cut the teacher mid-sentence to politely ask them to continue with the lesson whenever this would have happened.

I prefer the teacher occasionally doing this to break the monotony of studying, tbh. If you're not listening, you get a nice chance to sleep. If you are, you can get to know your teachers better so you know what to do to get favors out of them. Plus, it'll be very unlikely for them to go off on a tirade multiple times.

It is pretty good way to bond and make school not seem like such a frustrating place to be.

I liked it whenever our teacher just chatted about stuff. It was often funny stories, and it meant we did less work that class period.
