Slinky
Each time a Spell Card is activated, place 1 Spell Counter on this card when that Spell Card resolves (max. 3). You can Tribute this card with 3 Spell Counters on it; Special Summon 1 "Gaia The Fierce Knight"monster from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard. You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 card you control that can have Spell Counters placed on it; place 1 Spell Counter on that card. Darj
Skilled Dark searches Dark Magician Skilled White searches Buster Blader Now Blue searches Gaia Knight and the 3 were among Yugi's ace cards in the anime, if I remember correctly. The card is late to the party: getting this now feels random when the other 2 skilled magicians were released years ago. It's interesting how it has balanced ATK/DEF stats and was given an additional effect.
~Faytl~
Just... why? Is Gaia getting the same treatment Blue-Eyes and Dark Magician have gotten in recent years? Cause... that's a little bit of a weird choice that they wouldn't go with Summoned Skull or Red-Eyes.
Master Hyperion
I'm surprised that people still remember Gaia The Fierce Knight at this point, even for nostalgic value.
goodfusion
This is so cool, I love it. I hope they make a fusion monster (Dark magician + Gaia the fierce knight + Buster Blader). Also according to it's effect "Gaia the fierce knight" is actually an archetype... lol
Just Crouton
>monster Good. It can at least summon Swift Gaia instead.
werewolfjedi
it's that second ability that interests me more. banish to give a free counter. WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG KONAMI, I WOULDA LIKED THAT BACK WITH MY SPELL COUNTER STRUCTURE DECK.

Gokai-Red
Are we getting some Harpie treatment on Gaia? Will they give us? Functional retrains? That would be interesting

WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG KONAMI, I WOULDA LIKED THAT BACK WITH MY SPELL COUNTER STRUCTURE DECK. Having run the only viable spell counter deck (Tempest F/OTK) at a local level for years, I can say that this thing's counter creation really isn't relevant. Perhaps used with swift gaia in a casual warrior deck? I mean, RoTA is at 3, so it might do something cool.
evilfusion
Why is this card so random? I like the flavor of the Skilled Magicians. Skilled Dark's stats were 1900/1700. Skilled White was 1700/1900. Skilled Blue is 1800/1800. They all get the 3 Spell Counter treatment, then Summon Dark Magician, Buster Blader and...why Gaia the Fierce Knight/Swift Gaia? It's really weird. I think it should have been able to grab some of the Gaia upgrades, or at LEAST Gaia the Dragon Champion, too.

To be honest I believe they did this just to keep the flavour of Yugi. I'm not sure though what they do mean by "Gaia the Fierce Knight monster" but I would rather wait to see if that's a possible translation error. Although if this were to summon "Gaia Knight monsters" then we will have to see some errata

Yemachu
Perhaps because there are 2 Gaia Knights: the vanilla and a Swift retrain. Actually there are more "Knight Gaia" (騎士ガイア) monsters: "Gaia the Dragon Champion" (竜騎士ガイア) "Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth" (大地の騎士ガイアナイト) "Gaia Drake, the Universal Force" (地天の騎士ガイアドレイク) "Gaia Dragon, the Thunder Charger" (迅雷の騎士ガイアドラグーン) While these Extra Deck monsters can be Summoned from the Graveyard (if they have been sent there after being successfully Special Summoned), this card unfortunatly cannot Special Summon them; its effect only allows the summoning of "Dark Knight Gaia" (暗黒騎士ガイア) monsters. None of the above listed monsters includes the "Dark" (暗黒) part in their name. If only they would drop that part, it would become somewhat more useful. Then, by adding Extra Deck to the places from where you could summon, it becomes almost unstoppable... not really. If somebody were to use this card, I think they won't use it to summon a "Gaia the Fierce Knight" monster. Using it to store/generate Spell Counters seems more likely. Also, this card is 'quite' different from the other "Skilled Magician" monsters; it summons a monster from an archtype and it has some usages in the Graveyard. Now just wait for other colored "Skilled Magician" monsters, and maybe support for them.

But Blue Magician specifically Summons "Fierce Knight" monsters, which are the two I linked above. That's why I didn't bother with bringing up the rest of the Gaia Knights.
