To begin with, my non-BTH Trap Holes of choice, Nightmare and Void, became useless since they do nothing against Qliphorts while BAs can just shrug off the damage with their floaters. So I had to replace them. Fortunately, Traptrix got a new toy, Space-Time, which will effectively annoy the top tiers. But there is a catch: this deck loses more LP than others through Michael (the main reason to run this A.T. variant in the first place) and the occasional Jumper play, i addition to Warning and Soul Charge, and thus I hesitate at maining 2. That means that I still had space for 1~2 more Trap Holes, and I prefer to run 2 because I like running 1 more card than their number or searchers in the deck. In the end I decided to go for 2 Adhesion: even if it doesn't destroy anything, it will effectively weaken any threat so that it can be easily handled even by Myrmeleo itself through battle. I did test good old Trap Hole since in theory it should be able to mess with Qliphorts, but it didn't do much against BAs and decided to drop it. Other new cards in the deck from NECH are Yazi and Rebellion Xyz. I am also testing a Psychic Commander so the deck can drop Yazi or an emergency Black Rose by using a Traptrix as non-Tuner. It would be nice to run a Synchro8 as well in case I ever need it, but: 1. I don't know what to drop. 2. I don't know which single Synchro8 I should run. Daigusto Sphreez
Looks fun. I like how the combination of themes gives Naturia, Michael & Arachnid access. If you want a level 8 synchro I'd drop volcasaurus or Tiras, whichever you go into less really, since 3 rank 5s is taking up a lot of room when you aren't likely to be making them often (and I imagine Pleiades is your go to rank 5 anyway). If you do, Stardust Spark Dragon would be a good call I'm sure. I feel like -1 Heartlandraco +1 Daigusto Emeral would be worth considering given how quick I'm sure you can take your monsters out of your deck. Is the double cyclone worthwhile? Not sure what I think about maining 2 adhesion but it's interesting to say the least. You could also throw some deep dark trap holes in your side deck for shadolls and qli. Darj
Yeah, I built the deck when I realized that Krebons would give A.T. access to both Michael and Arachnid. Then I noticed that with Jumper they could make Barkion, which made things better. And it is really fun to surprise the opponent with these Synchros when it most likely thinks it is facing an standard H.A.T. deck. Anyways, dropping a Rank5 makes sense, and indeed Pleiades is my first choice. To be honest I have never used Volca but I know it is good for finishing games. While I believe I once or twice dropped Tiras since I was facing heavy backrow. I guess I would just drop Tiras. The same goes for Heartlandraco: it can help with finishing games and deals more damage than Cowboy, but truth be told I have never used it for that purpose. You are right in that the deck fills the grave just fine, but the issue with Emeral is that the deck doesn't make Rank4s as often (it only has 2 "1-card Rank4" in Dionaea), also some monsters want to stay in the grave for Call of Haunted plays; so I would rather spend Extra Deck space in Xyzs that can help win a game or deal with a threat, instead of a card-advantage Xyz such as Emeral that most of the time is only safe to drop late-game or when you are already winning. As for the Synchro8, Spark Dragon sounds good in theory but the thing is that the game has evolved into favouring non-destruction removal, and this card won't help with that; also 2500 doesn't look like a good ATK value when monsters such as Dante can ram on it in a pinch. Instead, I am considering either Thought Ruler to counter BA's backrow (too bad it won't work against Qlips) and potentially recovering LP to alleviate the LP payments, or Hot Red for nuking and raw ATK power. Yes, Double Cyclone is really good: It makes those dead-drawn Moraltachs live, and at worst you can chain it to any other S/T you activate to play around the card loss. It is so helpful that sometimes I felt like maining 2 but I couldn't find space and it has the risk of clogging vs. non-backrow-heavy decks. I was not sure of maining 2 Adhesion either but, as I said, there are not many other decent, generic choices. Deep Dark Trap Holes won't do anything against Qlips unless they have Skill Drain active so it doesn't look like a good side deck choice after all.
