YGO RP: The LDS LIFE [Started/ Accepting/OOC/PG-13]

Recommended Posts

Well this RP is going to be fun when it starts so now I will pose a question.

Does anyone want to be a friend/rival to Koto when the RP starts? I would do one for Kohana but as she is more introverted than Koto, I wouldn't think it would work as her character design is for her to make friends during the RP.

I think Katana would fit this role perfectly. He's cold and can be very disrespectful to people (And their skill).

Plus both of these guys know Fusion, so they might see each other in class and maybe talk to each other beforehand.

Also, Takara (My fem character) also like to make friends, so she could work well with Kohana.

And here's mine, after some time:

Username: Blue Amoonguss

Name: Thomas Furisaki

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Appearance: Thomas has dark brown, neck-length hair, with a small black highlight on his hair's right side. He has brown eyes, thin brown eyebrows, and a small mole right next to his chin. He wears blue jeans, and a black jacket lined with blue, zipped up covering a black t-shirt with a white cross design, and brown and white sneakers. He also has a pale, purple sash wrapped around his head several time, somewhat covered up by his bangs.

Personality: Thomas is usually a self-kept, quiet person in public. He doesn't currently have anyone at LDS that he would call a friend. The guy doesn't socialize much, and he usually doesn't have much to say, but when he does want to say something, he will try to be heard. Though sometimes, he has trouble finding the right word for a certain situation. He likes to play all sorts of games, not just the card game that may or may not be on motorcycles, but board games and video games as well. He's a bit more vocal when teaching a game, and he is relatively quick on the uptake on how a game is played. Still, he doesn't really have much drive for the future.

Bio: At the young age of 2, his father, a businessman, died in a plane crash. From that point on, he went to live with his only living relative, his grandfather, Joseph Furisaki, who was a retired game designer. It was from him that young Thomas developed an interest in all sorts of games. However, while Joseph had the money to allow Thomas to continue his education, Thomas couldn't really connect with his fellow students on a lasting level. When he was 13, Thomas transferred to the Leo Duel School, which was when he began to take the card game he casually played from time to time a little more seriously.
Kyo_Saotome_headshot.jpg

"I don't really care where my life takes me, as long I'm not held down and I've got the wind at my back."

Username: Zai

Name: Kiyo Arno

Age: 17

Gender: Male
Kyo_Saotome.jpg

Kiyo stands at 5' 10" and is a bit skinny, though he's built more athletically than thin. He's a runner, and so he has little body fat and a great deal of muscle tone. His lone, silver-blue hair is usually combed down, though he occasionally sports a more messy, disheveled look. Kiyo is quite attractive, and is well aware of it, usually preferring to wear more stylish or low-cut clothes that compliment his looks, save when he is working out, during which time he will sport any number of worn t-shirts (which he is wont to forgo on hotter days), and basketball shorts. Kiyo has bad posture, and will usually slouch in his seat or lean against a wall rather than stand straight up. He's also wont to fidget, usually carrying around a coin that he rolls between his knuckles to keep his hands occupied or whistling.

Kiyo is laid back, aloof, kind, and friendly, though he also has a strong competitive streak and can be a little mischievous, as well as a bit arrogant and slightly condescending as a result of his looks and his dueling skill. Perhaps in part due to hardships of living by himself, Kiyo has learned to take things in stride. He's very casual in his attitude and mannerisms, and few things, if any, seem to phase him. In general, Kiyo is friendly and helpful, usually wearing a smile and offering to assist LDS faculty and students with tasks or studies if he has the time. Kiyo is also known for his raunchy sense of humor, as he's fond of cracking dirty jokes. Despite his attitude though, Kiyo is very distant and aloof. Though he's known by a very large portion of the LDS student body, few can say they are close to him. In other words, Kiyo has many acquaintances, but few friends, preferring instead to by by himself often and highly valuing his peace and quiet. This isn't to say he's antisocial, as he's perfectly at home in a crowd of his peers, but rather that Kiyo is very guarded, and is hesitant to open up to anyone emotionally. Of course, he values the few friends he does have immensely, and is always willing to drop whatever he is doing to spend some time with them or lend them a hand. Kiyo's detachment extends to his schoolwork as well. Kiyo can often be found asleep and daydreaming in class, and is rarely motivated to take notes or do any homework. Luckily, Kiyo's natural talent and knowledge of Duel Monsters allow him to skate by with passing grades despite his apathy, and as a result the faculty have been able to do little to motivate him to improve his scores.

However, outside of  the classroom is an entirely different matter. Kiyo is rather competitive, and will almost never pass up an opportunity to duel. He doesn't like to lose, and has gained a reputation at LDS for his fast, brutal playstyle and the quick victories it brings him. This competitive streak extends to other activities as well. Kiyo is a member of Leo Duel School's track team, and when he isn't spending his time with other students or dueling he is training to improve his race times (though he's not nearly as exceptional of a distance runner as he is a duelist). Though it would be a stretch to call him conceited, Kiyo is very confident in his dueling abilities, and won't shy away from proving just how good he is. Of course, his arrogance has some positives as well, as Kiyo enjoys helping his fellow students improve both their decks and their skills. As a result, some of the younger students have begun to look up to him as a role model of sorts.

All in all, despite his arrogance and lack of motivation for his studies, Kiyo is a good kid. Though he has few friends, he is a genuinely positive influence on the student body, both as one of the School's most promising duelists as well as a helpful, friendly face among the masses of students.

Born in a city far removed from Maiami city, Kiyo's family moved around frequently when he was young due to his parents' line of work. As a result, Kiyo had little opportunity to make friends when he was younger, and found dueling at a rather early age as an easier way to interact with his peers whenever his family moved to a new place. As a result, Kiyo became an increasingly skilled player as he grew older. When he was ten, His parents divorced, and Kiyo went to live with his mother, continuing to move as his mother went from workplace to workplace.

As he grew older, Kiyo became more introverted, as he continued having trouble making friends whenever he moved. Worse still, it was hard for him to leave the few friends he did make at each new residence behind. When he turned fourteen, Kiyo and his mother moved to Maiami city, and Kiyo enrolled in Leo Duel School to begin his education as a professional duelist. When he was 15, his mother was forced to change workplaces yet again, though this time it was decided that Kiyo would remain in Maiami to continue his education, while his mother provided him with money to rent an apartment. Kiyo has been living on his own in town since, and has continued to advance through the Leo Duel School's curriculum, mastering synchro summoning by the end of his second year. After he began mastering Xyz Summoning, he was asked by the school's Headmistress, Himika Akaba, to keep an eye on her son, Reiji. Though Kiyo is at present unaware of just what circumstances have put Reiji in danger, he accepted the job,as he was in need of money to help his mother pay rent on his apartment.
"To me, dueling is like an open book...if only life were as easy to predict..."

Kenta is of average height and weight for his age, standing at about 5"5 and weighing 104.5 pounds. He has a rather thin, but is deceptively well-toned as a result of his training in sports.

Kenta can usually be described as calm, collected and generally soft-spoken, but has quite a case of obsessive compulsive disorder with neatness and organization, and can often be riled up by slight, seemingly insignificant disturbances. He is not antisocial, but leans more towards being an introvert - however, he is quite approachable and rather friendly in general. Kenta has eidetic memory, and thus, easily excels in school academics. He rarely shows too much emotion during duels, and usually tries to avoid doing so unless it is necessary. However, while in a duel, Kenta is able to focus and strategize flawlessly at all times. True to his deck, those who have dueled him often relate his analytical playing style to that of a fortuneteller - seemingly reading and planning several moves ahead. Kenta's hobbies include playing chess, reading, computer programming, taking walks and enjoying sights, and, in contrast to his appearance, sports - such as soccer and tennis.

Kenta was born into an upper middle-class family; both of his parents worked as scientists and researchers for Leo Corporation, focusing on the development and advancement of Solid Vision. Thus, dueling came rather naturally to Kenta, who picked up his first deck at the early age of 4. He demonstrated great interest in the game, and showed considerable skill for his age. Not long after, Kenta was discovered to have eidetic memory, which allowed for him to easily accumulate a vast knowledge of the game, earning him quite a reputation at the Miami City Elementary Junior Circuit.

Also, Kenta's eidetic memory allowed him to excel early on in school - a success which helped grant him access to a prestigious international boarding school in the United States, where his parents sent him to study at age 7. During his time in the US, he spent a large amount of time learning and studying, having completed high school-level courses such as calculus by age 12, as well as becoming a competent computer programmer and an accomplished tennis player. However, during his time there, Kenta gave up dueling temporarily - until two years ago, when his parents received a recommendation and invitation for Kenta to attend LDS Duel School. As a result, Kenta took this offer and returned to Japan and Miami City.
Username: Tayla Lider
Name: Aureli Pegasus
Age: 12
Gender: Female
Appearance:

AureliPegasus_zpsb8df846b.jpg

She's also a known shortie at only 4'6".
Personality: Her youth is obvious in more than just appearance. While she is highly-intelligent, she still sees things less like a budding teen and more like a proper child, complete with a big dose of near-constant hyperactivity and the tendency to let her curiosity get her into trouble. She is almost always seen with a sketchbook and a set of coloring pencils, and is often drawing in it to create cartoonish versions of various monsters and people.  She seems to have this odd habit of appearing to be talking to an invisible Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon named 'Tekran', however...
Biography: There isn't much of a biography to give for someone so relatively young...at least nothing that I can think out that would make her seem like too much of a special snowflake.

Year: 1st
Sec: Junior
Course Path: Pendulum

Archetype/Deck: Toon Swarm
Deck Description: The Toon Subtype gets new life brought back to it as the ability to Pendulum Summon Toons, even from the Extra Deck, lets the unused subtype keep up with the pacing of the newer generations of dueling. (I give links to anime-only cards in the deck as well, with the custom cards being shown further down in the post.)

Custom Cards:
Attribute: Light
Level: 10
Type: Dragon/Toon/Pendulum/Effect
Scales: 2/2
Pendulum Effect: Toon Monsters you control do not have to pay LP to attack and may attack the turn they are Summoned. While this card is face-up on the field, this card's name is also treated as "Toon World".
Monster Effect: Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Can only be Special Summoned by Tributing 3 Toon Monsters on your side of the field while "Toon World" is face-up on the field and cannot be Summoned in other ways. If your opponent controls no Toon Monsters, this card can attack your opponent directly. If they do control one, this card must target a Toon Monster for its attacks. When a Toon Monster would leave the field, place them face-up in your Extra Deck instead. Toon Monsters in your Extra Deck may be Pendulum Summoned (ignoring all other summoning conditions).
ATK: 4000
DEF: 3000
Blue-EyesRegalianToonDragon_zps5a881e82.
Note: The original BERTD was made 5 years ago, so I no longer remember who made the image. There is also no existing card with an effect like the bottom part of this card.

Attribute: Wind
Level: 4
Type: Spellcaster/Toon/Pendulum/Effect
Scales: 9/9
Pendulum Effect: Toon Monsters may be Pendulum Summoned from the hand while "Toon World" is face-up on the field (ignoring all other summoning conditions.)
Monster Effect: Cannot be Special Summoned unless you control a face-up "Toon World". May be Special Summoned (from your hand) by Tributing the same number of monsters required for a Tribute Summon (normally 1). If "Toon World" on your side of the field is destroyed, destroy this card. While you control "Toon World" and your opponent controls no Toon Monsters, this card can attack your opponent directly. Once per turn, except the Turn this monster was Summoned, you may send 1 card to your Deck from either your Hand or your Graveyard.
ATK: 1200
DEF: 1700
(Still looking for a decent image to cardify this.)
Note: This was to answer a problem I realized would actually stop most Toons from being Pendulum Summoned normally.

Type: Continuous Spell
Effect: Activate only while a "Toon World" Continuous Spell card is face-up on your side of the field. If "Toon World" on your side of the field is destroyed, destroy this card. Toon Monsters cannot be destroyed in battle by non-Toon Monsters.

Type: Normal Trap
Effect: Activate by paying 2000 LP while "Toon World" is face-up on your side of the field. Select 1 monster your opponent controls. Special Summon 1 "Toon Double" with the same Level/Attribute/Type/ATK/DEF as the selected monster. Each "Toon Double" token is also treated as a Toon Monster with the following effect:
"If "Toon World" on your side of the field is destroyed, destroy this card. While you control "Toon World" and your opponent controls no Toon Monsters, this card can attack your opponent directly."

Note: In the RP, sometimes monsters that wind up getting a Toon Double might wind up as an actual Toon later on, depending on GM approval. Same with monsters turned into Toons with the card Comic Hand.
Cards Created after the RP started (These only have one copy each):
~Created by me and in the deck:
Type: Normal Trap
Effect: Can only be activated when a "Blue-Eyes Regalian Toon Dragon" is sent from the field to your Extra Deck as a monster. Banish 1 "Blue-Eyes Regalian Toon Dragon" from your Extra Deck, then Special Summon as many Toon Monsters as you can from your Extra Deck. If you have more Toon Monsters than you can Special Summon, send the rest to the Graveyard.
~Toon Conversions (Due to Comic Hand or Painting a Toon):
Attribute: LIGHT
Level: 4
Type: Spellcaster/Toon
Effect: Cannot be Special Summoned unless you control a face-up "Toon World". Your opponent cannot target face-up Toon Monsters for attacks, except this one.
ATK: 1600
DEF: 1800

Note: And we have the first of the Toon Conversions, Magician's Valkyria became a Toon via Comic Hand at one point.
~Cards given to her after RP started:
Type: Equip Spell Card
Equip this card to any Level 4 or higher Effect Monster on the field. When the equipped monster would be sent to the Graveyard, place it in your Deck face-up in a place equal to its Level.
~Cards that will soon appear after a certain time:
Attribute: WIND
Level: 12
Type: Zombie/Spirit
Effect: Cannot be Normal Summoned. Can only be Special Summoned when a "Toon World" Continuous Spell you control is sent to the Graveyard or is Banished. During the End Phase of the turn this card is Special Summoned: Return it to the hand. When this monster is summoned, halve your opponent's LP.
ATK: 2500
DEF: 3000

Note: This won't really appear until the second time an original Toon World is destroyed.
