Trebuchet MS
"Aria the Melodious Diva" + 1 "Melodious" monster All Special Summoned "Melodious" monsters you control cannot be targeted by your opponent's card effects. During either player's Main Phase: You can target 1 other monster you control; return that target to the hand, then Special Summon 1 "Melodious" monster from your hand whose Level is equal to or less than that target's Level. You can only activate the effect of "Vivaldi the Melodious Maestra" once per turn.
The 1v1 task assigned was to create a card that supports a post-DUEA archetype. To avoid supporting or accidentally breaking a really strong archetype, I decided to look into the Melodious archetype. From what I'm understanding, their general strategy is based on Special Summoning and being Special Summoned. Special Summoning freely from the Graveyard is potentially risky and combotastic, so I decided to go with Special Summoning from the hand - but that also faces the issue of having the hand quickly depleted, resulting in this card having a Beast Soul Swap-esque effect, with the aim to change a Normal Summoned Melodious into a Special Summoned one and enable the synergy. There's the slight issue of the monsters you'd want to Special Summon being relatively high-Level, and so the fodder to supply for them cannot bring them out efficiently. Hence I've extended the card's effect to be able to bounce whatever other monster you're controlling, but only swapping out a Melodious monster. Something tells me that the ability to bounce could be potentially combo-tastic, but I'm uncertain how... The requirement monster is Aria for a couple reasons - a slight upgrade to Aria's anti-targeting effect (Aria blocks targeting from both players) and to make it a little more difficult to have this and Aria on the field without extra assistance. evil cucumber
I think its 2 effects are pretty OP. The first eff only loses to torrential and raigeki(BtH and mirror force too, but almost no one uses these cards anymore), and it even protects itself. I dont know, maybe you should make it protect "other Special Summoned "Melodious" monsters". About the second effect, its very strong, becuz it can make a monster that already attacked attack once more. Also, if you have used Laureate eff you can just bounce and SS her again and add another fairy from grave to hand. I think you should make her bounce only Melodious monsters, becuz the way it is now, you can make a gagaga Magician Lvl 8 and simply SS any melodious. Maybe edit that effect to "During either player's Main Phase" would fit it better becuz that +1 attack is really strong. Nice card thou, it would help Melodious really much and it completely makes good use of the -2 that the Poly can do to you(or -1 if you use that new melodious monster, she is just great). I sense it has what it takes to be a Boss card. 8/
