Daigusto Sphreez
> Zenmaintenance 2 Level 4 monsters When this card is Xyz Summoned: You can send up to 3 Wind-Up monsters from your Graveyard to your deck, then flip face-up cards on the field face-down, up to the amount sent. During your opponent's Main Phase: You can Detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card and reveal 1 monster in your hand; Xyz Summon a Rank 3 or Rank 5 monster from your Extra Deck with the same type as the monster revealed, using this face-up card you control as an Xyz Material. Trebuchet MS
I'm not fond of how you've made it, and the possible Rank 5s it can pull out, completely generic. So let me just go straight into C69...
Daigusto Sphreez
eh, fair point. Could make it require 2 level 4 wind-up monsters, since their extra deck is strained enough as it is?
Trebuchet MS
Quite the conundrum. The Material restriction means while only Wind-Ups can do it, they can freely pull out their R5s at the same rate as a standard R4 Deck. Keeping it generic, but forcing this card to only make R5 Wind-Ups severely limits what can be made. Quite the conundrum.
Daigusto Sphreez
Could keep it generic, but mix it up a bit, maybe something like this: During your opponent's Main Phase: You can Detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card and reveal 1 monster in your hand; Xyz Summon a Rank 3 or Rank 5 monster from your Extra Deck with the same type as the monster revealed, using this face-up card you control as an Xyz Material. Could for example, in a Wind-Up deck: Reveal Wind-Up Shark to go into Shark Fortress Wind-Up Warrior/Soldier to go into Pleiades Magician to go into C104: Umbral Horror Masquerade
Trebuchet MS
Sounds interesting. The hand card requirement also means you can't just freely Rank-Up while topdecking.
Daigusto Sphreez
True, I guess even if you can't use its 2nd effect, the effect it offers when Xyz summoned is pretty good anyway. Revised!
Spinny
Not seeing how zen maintenance effects this very much :/ ( the new xyz still has 1 material when summoned and why bother adding more when you could be running more useful traps?) Love the design of the card! ^^ To make zen-maintenance love this even more it could have another cool effect, maybe at the expense of making the 1st shorter. My idea for the new effect would be, "An Xyz monster with this card as an xyz material gains the following effect: (1) During the end phase of either players turn you can xyz summon 1 xyz monster that is attached to this card as an xyz material using this card as the xyz material (Any other xyz materials attached to this card become materials to the new xyz monster aswell.)" Thought it would fit the card and zen-maintenance well.

Thought it would fit the card and zen-maintenance well. The card wasn't really made to be compatible with Zenmaintenance, although it does provide a better rank 4 option for it of course. I just made this because it uses similar mechanics to the card Konami have made, just that it's actually a lot more usable. The effect idea sounds fun though, so you could essentially swap the overlay and monster around at the end phase with that effect, if I understand it correctly? I believe the general idea was to give Wind-Ups a useable R4 if they want to Zenmaintenance a used Zenmaity/Zenmaines. It is more viable than Zenmaister I imagine, and being able to jump from rank 3 to rank 5 would be fun, although summoning through Zenmaintenance isn't classed as an Xyz summon (or at least the wording is making me think that), so this card wouldn't get its initial effect with Zenmaintenance. The trap card is just too lackluster to warrant using I think.
Darj
Personally, I don't like this card's concept of Xyz-evolving into a Rank5 (or devolving into a Rank3), since it gives acess to Rank4 decks access to certain Rank5s depending on their predominant type (tellars gain access to Pleiades, Geargias to Digvorzhak, etc.), while also enabling the summon of Rank5 CXyzs that were designed to be dropped by RUMs (such as the aforementioned C69), and thus it feels too vulnerable to being abused. Yes, said Rank5 would only have 1 material left after the conversion and thus would be slightly weakened, but it still feels iffy. I would suggest to drop the gimmick entirely, but your goal is to make an Xyz with a similar mechanic to Zenmaintenance, and doing so would go against it. Well keeping the type restriction, as well as implementing the original "2 Level 4 Wind-Up monsters" idea would solve that. It is incredibly flexible so I can see the concern. If only Wind-Ups could use it that would be fine I envision, since they use so many types and are so pushed for room that this wouldn't have an abusable target, so to speak. It sounds like a nice idea for a whole archetype to me.
