Would a live action Yu-Gi-Oh! TV series ever work?

This probably sounds absurb/stupid at first but hear me out, I've seen a couple of people make their own live action shorts on YouTube (some examples:)

Do you ever think that if a proper budget was given, a somewhat decent TV series could ever work? I assume most of you will think that it won't work, but I'd like to know if there's anyone who thinks it will work and why.

If they do better graphics... then maybe... but it could get some negative feed back from long time fans. Look at Code Lyoko. Not to mention... the dubbing... ugh. And subs are fine and all... but for Live action? It's just weird... I admit it would be cool to see more detailed versions of the monsters seen in Yugioh Bonds-I would give it a shot... to watch... I wouldn't try it if I were Konami tho... it's not a good move. And to see how the cards would compare (animated-it would be weird if it wasn't) to the 3-D models...it could go either way. There's my 2 cents...

I'm sure doing all the computer work would probably cost a lot more than the current animation style. I mean Death Note did well with Ryuk, Gelus and Rem in the films, but I can see Yu-Gi-Oh's varst number of cards becoming really hard.

They'd need a far bigger budget than they have now for this even beginning to work.

I don't think it would really look all that good.

I doubt it will work. They'd have to do so many different computer graphical things, seeing as obviously each card would have to be created digitally anyway.

Plus, the concept works as an anime, but I think it would be far too ridiculous seeing actual people dueling to save the world.

It works for short things sometimes, but a whole series? Doubtful.

I don't know man... it would be cool to see... and she a DID mention IF they had the money. But as said... it could get very annoying and awkward... probs a bad move. Still give it a chance... most likely if they did... the would do it similar to volcaloids. SHIT THAT WOULD BE AMAZING... LIVE ACTION DUEL!!!!!!!! 4 REAL XD

Probably not.

The voice synching will suck when translated from Japanese to English (and other languages).

Plus it's going to be extremely expensive + time-consuming to do the stunts and everything associated with the anime; instead of animating it.

For short series, maybe; but certainly not a 140-220 episode run like the current ones.

Yu-Gi-Oh is a series that would not transition well to live-action.

Part of the series' appeal is the fact that so much of it is over-the-top. It gives the series its own charm by making much of the strange mannerisms be completely normal. Where some people see it as flashy or overdramatic, I feel the anime's charm is that if you essentially roll with the absurdity of the situations without overanalyzing the "realism" (or lack thereof), it's a very fun series.

But take any Duel from one of the anime episodes. A lot of it hinges on players being ridiculously overdramatic. The way they draw cards, the way they play the cards, the way their clothes and hair look...if you saw a live person doing ANY of that, they look nerdy at best, and just stupid at worst. Plus, the plots do tend to be heavy on magic and world-saving, and other things that'd make no sense for card-games to be the default solution.

Anime style and physics support Yu-Gi-Oh too much to be a series that can be made into a live-action series and not just come off as too cheesy or painful to look at. Not to mention listen to.

SOME LOOK AT THE VOCLOID SUGGESTION FOR CRYING OUT LOUD XD VOLCALOID STYLE DUELS WOULD BE EPIC! Just like sit in the audience and watch a all new original "film" take place before your eyes (new characters of course, like a real movie... fall in love with them like tht). THT WOULD BE HELL OF COOL!!! It's an alteration... BUT IT IS WAY BETTER IF YOU IMAGINE THE EPICNESS! Too many caps lol. But still. No bad Dubbing, if brought to different countries. Live Action in a way. For Konami... it would be a BIG investment... but it WOULD pay off. People might become more into YGO, go buy packs. Not to mention the money from around the world! All they have to do, is gain the right to use the technology; Ship the program codes to the needed centers; you get where I'm going w/ this. I doubt they would be willing to go thru the trouble tho.
