So now a pretty honest question - how much testing did everyone do with this deck?

Because as far as I recall, everyone were creaming on how strong and unbeatable Killer is, then Black said it's bad, and suddenly everyone is on the train. Was Black wrong? No. Is it wrong to listen to someone better? Yes if it's blind.

You know guys, it's pretty healthy to try to validate someone's claims, as believable as they may sound. Tower isn't needed, yes. But it's not "winmoar". If a single card forces people to plan ahead in deckbuilding and game plan, it is AMAZINGLY strong, and that's the paradox of this card. It's a game ender once it sits...but it's hard to make it sits most of the time, since he's most of the time useless. Doesn't have the dual utility of being a Pendulum like other Qlis. I gotta say, I was very wrong initially about this guy. I still wouldn't play him, but he's nowhere a bad option.

Now please guys. Test stuff. Blind listening gets you nowhere.

>implying only Black tests everything here.

But really, people everywhere are getting that conclusion after testing.

It's strong, but ultimately unnecessary. While its usability gets mutated into sheer trash tier for some reasons (which it's far from being), it's not needed when ultimately you can just push with Disk all the way to victory.

Once again, unnecessary, but that doesn't make it shit tier card that "shouldn't be used or considered ever and whoever used it is a scrub."

Also, one more important thing.

While it's subpar in competitive and matches, but why people often use it in random singles is because of its ability to get you free wins, even against decks that normally would give you some sort of problems.

Winning would still be easy with or without it, but its ability to trivialize many single games pretty much makes it a common sight online.

I still hold on my option that this is not a win-moar card, as some people like to believe, but a card that literally can win a game if the opponent has no way to take care of it. and lets be frank. it's hard to kill once its on the field.

It is, but at the same time you can just spend your resource on Disk plays among others and still win.

I wanted to point out that Killer is often shit in the mirror, but that's just what I saw.

I played Qlips for a bit as a joke, and ran Killer. I must say, yes, it shut some decks the fuck up. But it didn't do anything against Qlips, as they had simple ways around him.

And playing to not fight the mirror is stupid considering this is largely what's going to be tier one.

It's a stupid move to play it for that reason, IMO.

But, for example, Necloths have no outs to killer, you get it, they scoop, simple as that. Unless they get godamn lucky with lolDecisivearmor+Trishula, but even that hardly fucking works. Killer is good…just not needed, and pretty damn winmoar. Now, like I said, he's shit in the mirror.

Necloths have outs.

Decisive Armor is life.

Decisive Armor+Valkrus=3400 when Killer is on the field.

Genome+Archive= 300-600 ATK stat difference.

So, in two cases Killer loses (One where only one of the two are in the pendulum zones/zero are in the pendulum zones), but in one of the most likely cases, both/2 of them (lel) are on the field, and killer even trumps Valk. And most of the time, you shouldn't be main summoning Valk vs Qlips, he should be used to stop OTKs.
So…to Trish, then. Trish becomes 2200, then add 1000. Any boost at all will allow Killer to triumph over Trish.

Relying on king of the dead draws, Decisive Armor, VS Qlips, is rather stupid.

IF they have to be so winmoar to play Killer, then let f***ing noobs get the win rather than play shitty cards.

Not to mention Killer can make you send a damn monster, which can often be forced to be Armor or a monster on the field.

Fucking stupid design, but scrubby as hell.

Don't forget that most of the time they'll have Tool as one of the scale, so it's a 300 decrease.

3100 still beats 3000.

As for Killer itself...

Yes, it does not beat other Qliphort decks, but how much do you see them in online singles anyway?

They're not that abundant online, really. Which is why people use Killer online.

Just start saying that they're scrubby when they played it seriously in competitive.

I know you're joking, at least I f***ing hope.

I've been running Necloths for a damn while now, and I can say, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Armor TOPS does some sacky s*** in the mirror. But that's about it. Your goal should be Trishula, most of the time, IMO.

I really ticks me off when scrubs with subpar builds sack wins. .-.

Not you, Dyson. Just…I played a fuckton of DN rated this ban list.

I'm honestly surprised, but apparently, Qliphorts are only like 50% of the online player base, OCG wise, you are correct.

Well, then again, I passed all of the netdeckers a while back and haven't really seen any "professional" Qlip players who aren't just net decking.

50%?

Where did you even get that number?

It's significantly lower than that.

I've been doing this for a while and thought that seemed like an adequate amount, based on my experience alone.

On DN only, though.

It seems that most players with less than 500-ish rating are mainly running Qlips, for the most part, and the other players vary. I've seen a few Yokais, Heros, Satellars, Spirit Beasts, Necloths, and Dolls, but as far as the most played deck goes, I'd say Qlips as a whole. From like the 6-7 decks available that do ok, I'd say they see the most play. Yeah, it's probably less than 50%, but still.

I been playing rated match (I get around 900 before resorting to casual decks and going back down) and I literally haven't seen them yet. Guess I am just lucky.

Spirit beasts are ruling in match, from what I have seen.

DN "meta", if you can call it that, mains a metric fuckton of anti-meta shit like Macro/Fissure/Skill Drain.

This is why shit decks thrive on DN. No one actually plays to win, everyone plays to fuck with the opponent using play-to-not-lose cards.

Also, Necloth make Rank 4 on a regular basis. Crab King says hi.

I almost thought Qlips got something crazy good to push them to the next level, but no, it's just Killer with a questionable English name.

It dead draws a little too often to be comfortable. Having unstoppable monster removal is nice, but letting the opponent choose limits that effectiveness. Not to mention you do not want to be seeing yourself draw this card in a Shaddoll matchup. Nigh-invulnerability to nearly anything is cool, but the lack of damage-pushing effects means the opponent can turtle their way out.

This card isn't an instant-win button, unlike many other boss monsters. To wit:

Opponent: I drew Killer first, that means I win, right?
Me: I won't count on that.
*cut to me punching his Killer in with a 3100 ATK Shell*

  • 2 weeks later...

Is anyone else gonna complain about the effect itself, I've dueled against my friend when he had 3 and It was insane. I was using a Red-Eyes Deck with Darkness Dragon and no matter how many dragons I had in the Graveyard I still couldn't match it.

thats why you couldn't match it.

get good.
