Decided to let the RNG choose my choice for this one as well, and it came out as Arcanine.

Or I can breed some in XY with Close Combat, because I probably need that for punishing rocks.

Houndoom is both dark AND fire, I know, but Arcanine is just so fluffy and adorable.

You can blame RNG for pairing these two.

 

To be honest, I never got attached to Houndoom that much; probably because of my slight dislike towards certain dog breeds from RL stuff. (Could explain why I never bothered to train one after it evolved at the minimal level)

 

Would appreciate it if Gamefreak made Arcanine a Mega Evo sometime in the future, but we never know.

In a 9-5 vote, the black devil dog triumphs over the majestic Arcanine as it advances to the semifinals.

 

(Black devil dog does fit Houndoom; although there's no indication that I dislike it if that's what you get from the toning.)
