Add some cards that make you discard. Tribute to the Doomed, Dark Core... they all work. Also, use Dark World Grimoire to get out your dark world monsters more easily. Plus, a few more monsters/less spells/traps would definitely make the deck more formidable.

Also, -rep for Goldshine. Nobody insults Crab Helmet.

Also, Cheerful Coffin sucks in any deck. Why would you use a card that doesn't hurt your opponent while giving you benefits? Tribute to the Doomed = -1 monster for your opponent, +1 monster for you.

Dark World is a series of Dark Fiend-Type monsters based around effects that activate when they are discarded from the hand to the Graveyard. However' date=' this does not include cards that require you to discard as a cost, such as "Magic Jammer" and "Tribute to the Doomed". [/b']

I'll check that. Brb.

A-HA! You're wrong. It only states on Goldd that if it is discarded by a card effect, Special Summon it. Discarding for a cost is discarding because of a card effect, thus nullifying your argument.

I pity you if you rely on the wiki for information. Sad, really.

Don't bother arguing for two reasons:

1. You're wrong, so it's not worth it.

2. I'm not going to return to this thread, so your opinions will be falling on deaf ears.

The following rulings apply to "Beiige' date=' Vanguard of Dark World", "Broww, Huntsman of Dark World", "Sillva, Warlord of Dark World" and "Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World".

The effects of these cards are Trigger Effects that can be chained to.

These effects only activate if the cards are discarded by a card effect. They will not activate if discarded for the cost of a card like "Lightning Vortex", "Raigeki Break", "Tribe-Infecting Virus", or "Infernal Incinerator".

They will not activate if sent to the Graveyard by a card effect like "Last Turn" or "Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End".

DARK WORLD MONSTERS

The following rulings apply to “Beiige' date=' Vanguard of Dark World”, “Broww, Huntsman of Dark World”, “Sillva, Warlord of Dark World” and “Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World”.

The effects of these cards are Trigger Effects that can be chained to.

These effects only activate if the cards are discarded by a card effect. They will not activate if discarded for the cost of a card like “Lightning Vortex”, “Raigeki Break”, “Tribe-Infecting Virus”, or “Infernal Incinerator”. They will not activate if sent to the graveyard by a card effect like “Last Turn” or “Chaos Emperor Dragon – Envoy of the End”.

If these cards are discarded by your opponent’s card effect, both parts of their effects resolve in a single chain link. If “Divine Wrath” is chained to these effects, it will negate both parts.

The effects of these cards activate in the Graveyard, so “Skill Drain” will not negate their effects.

These effects can activate in the Damage Step, if discarded by the effect of a card like “Don Zaloog”.

If these monsters are discarded by a card effect in the middle of a chain, or in the middle of a card effect like “Dragged Down into the Grave”, their effects will activate after the current chain resolves. They cannot miss the timing.

If these cards are discarded from your hand by a card effect while "Macro Cosmos" is on the field, their effects will not activate because they were not discarded to the Graveyard.

Slade, learn to play.

Long explanation:

Card costs are completely different from card effects, and only the latter will trigger a Dark World effect.

The key difference is that costs are payed when the card is activated, not when the card resolves; furthermore, if the card is negated by an effect such as that of Solemn Judgment, costs are nut refunded, but since effects have not resolved, discards for them are unnecessary.

Example:

Chain Link 1: Player 1 activates "Lightning Vortex", discarding a card.

Chain Link 2: Player 2 activates "Solemn Judgment", paying half of his or her Life Points.

Chain Link 2: Solemn Judgment's effect resolves, negating Lightning Vortex.

Chain Link 1: Lightning Vortex has been negated, so its effect is not applied. The card discarded to pay for its cost remains in the graveyard.

However:

Chain Link 1: Player 1 activates "Dark World Lightning", discarding a card.

Chain Link 2: Player 2 activates "Solemn Judgment", paying half of his or her Life Points.

Chain Link 2: Solemn Judgment's effect resolves, negating Dark World Lightning.

Chain Link 1: Dark World Lightning has been negated, so its effect is not applied. Since the discard it mentions is part of the effect, no card is discarded.

Also, remember Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude? Remember how he lets you activate the effect of a Normal Spell Card? Remember how having him activate Magical Stone Excavation lets you retrieve a spell without discarding any cards? That's because discarding for Magical Stone Excavation is a cost, not an effect. If Diamond Dude were to activate Dark World Lightning, you would still need to discard, as its discard is part of the effect and not a cost.

Why do you think Dark World decks use cards like Dark World Lightning and Dark World Dealings instead of cards like Lightning Vortex, Magical Stone Excavation, and Phoenix Wing Wind Blast? It's not because Dark World Lightning is somehow considered better than Raigeki Break; it's because those other cards DO NOT WORK.

Short explanation:

You're wrong.
