Ultimate Ritual Art - makes The Masked Beast Playable?

This card can be used to Ritual Summon any non-Effect Ritual Monster from your hand or Deck. You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field and/or banish monsters from your Graveyard whose total Levels equal the level of that Ritual Monster.

Inspired by Necloths and me trying to put Original Magician of Black Chaos to actual use (though The Masked Beast is the better option anyway).

The expansion on both parts of the Ritual Summoning (where you can Ritual Summon from and where you can get Tributes for it) makes non-effect Rituals playable, albeit not as monsters that hit things. With the right setup, this is essentially a 1-card free Levels, and so you can just play this for a Ritual Monster that just gets used up for a Synchro or Xyz play. If a non-effect Level 4 Ritual existed, Manju (and Sonic Bird) would both instantaneously become 1-card Rank 4 monsters kinda like how Tour Guide, Crane Crane, and Wolfbark are. Hieratics could Tribute one of their own for a Level 6 Ritual and instantly fulfill the requirements for making a Rank 6. About any Deck out there that could use the banish-from-Grave part to supplement their Rank whatever plays could do so, and it'd only take up 4-6 slots in their Deck.

So yes, they do become a lot more playable, but I don't know that's what you had in mind. If you want them to be playable while still being traditional huge beaters, then you'll have to give bonuses or some other kinds of buffs to the monster that gets Ritual Summoned while putting a restriction on what you can Summon for the turn. Though, doing this means that you're only making The Masked Beast out of all of those Rituals playable, and the others will continue to be as terrible as ever before despite this card's existence.

As you said, there is big variety in levels when it comes to non-effect Rituals, so they CAN be used for Synchro/Xyz food as well. But they can also be used with the Djinns of Rituals to give them powerful effects. In that respect The Masked Beast is an option because of its 3200 ATK, Magician of Black Chaos is an option for being level 8 (along the other level 8 non-eff rituals) because you can tech Trade-in to make the Ritual a less dead draw.

So yeah, for being used for other than simple beatsticks and synchro/xyz fodder you need to run the Djinns as well.

I didn't say this will make all non-effect rituals meta. It's just a means to make players a bit more creative
