Fusion X. Denver
We've had some DBZ threads in the past, sure, but it's been a while. I watched Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods (dubbed) last night and it was a thrill. It sucked me right back into a major nostalgia dive and made me miss this series. I still find it awesome it's getting another movie next year. What do you guys think of this classic? Has it aged well? Did you like the new movie? JadenxAtemYAOI
Super Lord Kame Guru is disappointed by your lack of mentioning. Prepare to be eradicated along with the other albino Namekians.
Just Crouton
Stopped being good after the Super Saiyan stuff happened. I mean, we had a pretty diverse group of characters in the Vegeta Saga, and then it was decided after Frieza that if the character couldn't Super Saiyan, or wasn't named "Piccolo," then they either don't matter anymore, or continue to exist because humor. The movies were mostly good (Broli Part 1 and the one with the army of RoboCoolers,) definitely better than the series itself, though the post-time skip ones and the Broli sequels were pretty bad. Haven't seen Battle of Gods. Though, I'm curious as to why Goku's Super Saiyan God or whatever its called has his normal hair colored pink instead of something awesome like a fiery version of SS3's hair with a golden version of SS4's outfit. Prepare to be eradicated along with the other albino Namekians. Ha, I just rewatched all of TFS. Good stuff. Though I actually wasn't as into Guru as other people were. I feel like Lani's characters tend to be the funniest, idk. Stopped being good after the Super Saiyan stuff happened. I love the whole series regardless, but I can respect your points. Power creep really did cripple non-saiyans after a while, which is a shame. Dragon Ball had a lot of good characters that got the shaft in Z too. A lot of the movies are hit and miss for me. Liked Dead Zone, the Coolers, Broly and Bojack. I kinda liked Broly 2 too, not gonna lie (that Father-Son Kamehameha and Gohan spotlight probably helped). Favorite movie was Fusion Reborn??? Whichever had Goten and Trunks face Hitler I liked that too, but it just bothered me how non-canon it was. (That and most of the other movies, but yeah). Johan Liebert
There were a few things I didn't like about the series (the four or five hour fight with Frieza, the fact that when the characters died I didn't care because I knew they were going to get revived, the filler, Majin Buu, Goku, what they did with Gohan after the Cell Games, and what they did with other great characters because they weren't saiyans), but I can't deny how nostalgic the series is or how impactful it's been. It was, in short, a turn for anime in the western world. I could arguably say that Dragon Ball Z brought anime to several different countries, making it a milestone in anime. Although, I still don't consider it the best long(er) battle anime. I believe that spot is reserved for Yu Yu Hakusho...
