  1. 1. Fighting flame chicken of Hoenn vs dark Eeveelution of Johto

There are 4 new members who voted for Blaziken; everyone else from the 11 voters who chose it are veterans.

I don't want to impose a minimum post limit, but if that proves to be the case, may have to set it at 100 or something.

Zex brought this to my attention a while ago, but a lot of the newbie votes do share a common IP address.

Of course, a lot of the matches are essentially over and will be a pain in the ass to recalibrate, if such votes are disregarded.

We're looking into the matter, however.

Even though I'd like my Eons to go through (and at least most of my nominations), I'm certainly not going to make multiple accounts just to vote for it (especially because I'm a mod and enforce the rules; what kind of a role model would I be setting if I did.)

If they win, then great. If not, I'll be upset for a couple minutes, but I'll accept the result and just hope they place next tournament or something.

(Can't expect everyone to share the same liking for Pokes as you do).

TBH, I didn't know either until Zex notified me about this. (We have been getting a good amount of newbies voting in here lately; could possibly be that newbies have been voting on the polls that I forgot to set Public viewing on)

That's craziness, seriously. My favorites are out but that's fine in reality, they're my personal favorites and it's kinda amusing to realize I like Pokemon others don't.

I just hope they didn't lose because of alts.

Looking into things, yeah there's a lot about the accounts that look so suspicious and would be such coincidence if not. Like 4-5 (the 5th I'm not sure on)...This bugs me because it messes with something that's supposed to be a fun thing.

I know.

It's not like I can be periodically running IP checks on new members to check, but yeah it is pitiful.

While it's true that IPs can be shared amongst actually different people (i.e. in schools, university, libraries, public places), if 5+ share the exact one; that should raise some warning flags. Based on findings, it's also linked to a legitimate member here (I won't reveal his name, but it is something to keep an eye on).

Some of the matches are legitimate though; a lot of the close call matches could be attributed to these, but can't say for certain.

Probably more of an incentive to make sure I enable public voting.
