"Close Your Own Topic", but how?

Yemachu

Question

Since I changed some little details in some older posts, they show up underneath "Last Post Info". This might cause other members to comment in the topic which, in this case, would have been considered necro-bumping. To avoid others from 'accidentially' necrobumping, I wanted to close the topic myself. Unfortunatly I ran into an issue here: I have no idea how to apply that item from the shop. So here is my question:

How do you use the "Close Your Own Topic"?

Go to the Shop tab at the top of the page, next to Calendar.

Then click on "My Portfolio". It's on the top-left side.

Below that will be a tab marked "My Shop Items".

Click the "Close Own Topic" item, if you have it.

On the right side, click "Use Item"

The tricky part: You need to have the Topic ID. You can find this in the URL of your topic. In this topic's case, your ID is 323001.

Not really a conventient way to close topics, but it seems to work. This might also be a point to include in the "Frequently Asked Quesions"; eventhough it not frequently asked.

It would (in my opinion) be easier to have a "Close Topic" button availible when editing the main post of a topic. Or let you choose the topic you want to close from a combobox (although my main issue was finding where you close the topics; this does not solve that).

Either way, thanks for answering my question.
