.Rooster
Why don't you change the Anime section to Cartoons and Comics section, since there is no need to have made the Anime/Manga in the first place. I think is time to remind the admin that "Anime" is a Japanese term taken from 'animation', meaning cartoons as a whole. No Offense.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
The section was named Anime & Manga before I came around in 2009 (possibly at the start of YCM) and to my knowledge, no one else had any problems with it. Technically speaking though, non-Japanese comics and cartoons are discussed, but in the two forums that follow it. If more people support this idea, a name change can be done. As mentioned earlier, people are already discussing other series in those two sections mentioned, so there's no real point in renaming the section to encompass all cartoons/comics. (If we did that, several threads would have to be moved accordingly)
.Rooster
KK, but can we make posts about non-Japanese cartoons anyway?
Cin
That is usually placed in TV Shows. Anime and Manga can't just be renamed Cartoons and Comics, because they are often considered a different classification to those.
Smear
No support, TV Shows is there for a pretty good reason.

.Rooster
I know I cannot say yes but that is ridiculous! And type properly or I will not take you seriously. Anime virtually translates to animation, which is classified as ANY animated cartoon in the history of cartoons. So in English: Ducktales = Anime Disney Classics = Anime EVEN Chowder = Anime Japanese people would agree, but it is just that western anime fanboys/girls think anime has to be Japanese cartoons where everyone has eyes the size of croutons just managing to stay on the face! LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
Except if you knew anything about either cartoons or anime you'd know that there are many difference between Western and Japanese animation. Plus, this separation makes it much easier to manage everything, instead of having to look through both anime and cartoon topics to notice the threads a person is interested in. As for "Japanese people would agree" that is a blatant generalization. You think so? Get some Japanese people in here to back you up. Until you do, you can't say one way or another if they'd agree. And if you want others to type seriously, don't use the term "So in English", that's silly, your whole post is in English. Also, anime doesn't "translate" to animation. Anime is defined as Japanese animation. By the way, if you want to tell Frey to type properly, use the proper term in your title (It's not Topics that you have a problem with). And don't use the nonexistent word of " :Z "
Flash Flyer - Sakura
That's just how things were from 2009 and possibly earlier in YCM's history. Even Yin's already spoken and she's the moderator over the Anime/Manga section. Again, it's only you who's shown any concern about this matter as far as I remember; no one else raised any issue with how it's been running. As Cow already mentioned, can you actually prove that statement "Japanese people agree that Disney and other stuff is considered anime"? Where is Kenta/Darkplant when we need him? He's a Japanese national and could certainly clear that point once and for all. I don't recall him raising any objections over this issue, and as stated, he's a native speaker. Or heck, Raine (or whichever member's studying in Japan right now).
