Aix
I've been told we are rather intimidating, going around doing as we please, basically strutting around like gods over you ordinary members. Because of this, people are refusing to PM us or otherwise communicate with us directly about any major issues on this site that need our attention. I'm asking you directly, what is your impression of the mod team? Not just this, but I've heard other complaints as well. Feel free to voice them all here. Greiga
I have no problem talking to the mods about forum issues or things I see wrong. I just don't do it because there's nothing to talk about or report right now that really needs a typed up PM.
Rodrigo
You guys have stopped being... members. We rarely see you posting in random things, having fun with people that aren't your close friends. Basically, what we see is that you spend your time here doing what you guys do constantly (in your particular case, taking care of a Role Play, in Striker's case, the Leaderboard), and forget that you're members and we're all here to have fun. All of us. You're a moderator because we need moderators to keep the site from reaching anarchy, not because you've gone through a rigorous training session like military soldiers. You're up there because you've accepted the position and are apt for moderating. But it doesn't mean you've stopped being a regular member too. My 2 bitcoins on this. Lunar Origins
Ironically, I get the holier-than-thou vibe from everyone except maybe from three mods ([acronym='Ironically points to Night being one of them, who happens to be my favorite moderator']I won't name who[/acronym]). It feels like they do as they please without much input from the community. Like the mod selection for CC; I didn't see anyone going around asking for opinions on who would be elected or not, which kinda peeved me. Coming to YCM with three new moderators (two of which whom I didn't know existed as members in the first place, to be honest, and the other one I didn't already have the best opinion of) irked me. I'm just one member, though, and those are my opinions.
Greiga
I feel like I actually see Aix, evilfusion, and Sakura around way more than other mods, but that could be me just being... lucky? I mean, we can't force you guys (this is at the entire mod team) to post in sections if you don't want to, but if people say it's needed then at least talking in statuses would help (like we've been seeing today). LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
Okay, I said it before but gonna say it again. I have no real issue with the mods and not being able to approach them. I've argued with, talked to, and asked mods things from time to time. As for not seeing them as regular members. I've seen many of them posting casually. Aix, Flame Dragon, Sakura, Night, Yin, honestly they all post. They might not joke around as much as in the past I don't know, but it's probably more to do with them being more busy and not being able to post so much. Honestly. I've seen some mods post more than some members even, I really don't see it. Maybe it's just a personal thing, that the Mod title doesn't change personal views on someone, but that's how I see it. I can't speak for everyone but I generally just feel most at home in my section, and for me Showcase is legitimately how I have fun on this site. For me it's especially hard to visit other sections because I have absolutely zero knowledge on yugioh, however you can often catch me posting in General from time to time and I'm moderately active on the status bar. I'm legitimately under the impression that evilfusion's a former marine though.
Nathanael D. Striker
@Rod: No one here atm really considers me a close friend (except maybe a couple people) and randomness around people who I'm not close to and hold a dislike for me just doesn't feel comfortable to me. When I've tried to, it never really worked out. Nothing against anybody, but my social life here doesn't help me much at all. So, I'm sorry that I seem distant. I'm around in several other areas besides CC, though it's mostly limited to Video Games [mostly with the Pokemon game threads], Anime/Manga (though restricted to Arc-V and Pokemon X/Y threads) and General to some extent. Occasionally, I go into Showcase/GFX; though lately, it's asking Yin to do some render work since my schedule is busy for doing a lot of them. I may start posting in there again (or Showcase) once I get my skills up. I am considering RPing or writing Fan Fics if the interest arises. (I think most of you know that I'm in the Games section as well, having fun with some of you). Once in a while, I might post in TCG but more often than not, I just browse the section and not post. Moderators are still members just like the rest of you, except with the added responsibilities of keeping stuff in order. Personally, I do not believe that I'm in a higher class than any of you just because I can lock threads and do other things here.
Sleepy
If mods don't perform disciplinary actions (locking threads, banning/warning members, etc) without a heads up (discussing the issue and such), I don't think there's much more to complain about. Which I have no idea because to be honest, I've been reduced to just lurking ever since my schedule IRL started being more demanding. So I can't really testify to the way current mods handle things. Lack of normal member activity? I don't think that's a problem since all members, not just mods, have preferences. Reporting is hard? If I'm getting it right, reporting is basically sticking the message on the fridge for any passing/patrolling members to go take care of it, at a sub-forum invisible to regular members, so I don't see how being "unapproachable" would be an issue with something so.. not-personal. If I had to point out something, it'd be to take this chance to get a little complaint on a little something: At CC in particular, the hall of fame and the collective booster pack threads just died one day. Being somewhat "official" I don't ask for them to continue if the managers of said projects can't keep them up, but a casual, but clear closure or hiatus would be greatly appreciated, not just on those threads, but any future ones of similar nature. All of a sudden communication was cut off. People had to assume the project was no longer rolling after a month or so, but a small one-line post closing it permanently or temporarily is not hard to do and would give off the air that there is actually involvement and not just a deliverer and receiver of packages on far ends. That's about the only thing that comes to mind when it comes to feeling "unapproachable". While it is fine for mods to go for what interests them just like any other members, when they do take the initiative to start amusing projects like these, I consider it fair to end those initiatives when interest or time becomes an issue with them. It might sound very simple and so minuscule to almost not be worth saying, but little things like this can start to make a difference. But other than that? I don't really have issues with the way stuff is generally handled. I think they are doing well overall.
Simping For Hina
The two moderators that I have any connections with are Flame Dragon and Night because of the sections I am a part of. Mugen is a mod I have always felt retained his membership with many of us in what existed of the C&O thread before it lost more activity. Old clubs existed that he would still communicate with, even if sometimes it was under the reign of his law. He was a part of it and the connection with us was a mutual idea going back to the time before Mugen was mod. Sakura, I think you are losing sight of what being a part of a forum is. You frequent the Shops, where only Tormey and Yin post. That isn't looked at by any of the other members of Showcase. You say how you want to become a part of the community; Post your artwork, comment on others of how you feel and what it looks like to you. We are a community because we work with each other. Hioco has just returned and just became a part of the community again by commenting, and participating in the SOTW. You can't get better just by repeating the same things. We are here to help you grow as an artist or a graphic designer, whatever direction you want to go. The way to be part of a community is to exist within and contribute to it. Due to people lacking in activity is how the bar between members and moderators came to be. Flame Dragon is always a welcomed member to the Other TCG MtG threads because he contributes to the discussion, bring his own insight to newly spoiled cards or other formats. Strengthing his tie to that forum, even if he has dominion over it. That is how moderators should be within other places of the area. The only time I can recall even remotely seeing a lot of the moderators have time just to have fun with the members, be a part and include them in little games or something for the hell of it was when Aix made his thread in the C&O. Mugen asked me to put a bunch of Machinedramons on a picture from Agro's thread, which was made to counter Aix's "power". In this term, it was his maid harem as he had when he changed people's avatars to maids. It was a fad, but it featured plenty of people in the community as a group doing one thing that would help see Moderators as members as well; Interacting. And are we really going to comment on how Games is not really interacting with other people? You post a few words and numbers, done. You're not conversing or anything after that. It is just a bunch of barreling monkeys being linked together, rating other people or putting down a continuous strain of numbers until Striker says Reset. No, I don't see the Mod as unapproachable. I think that a lot of them just do their job and only their job.

Rodrigo
I'm not unsatisfied with the current Mod team at all; I used to have a problem with Crab and Frunk back in 2012. Night and evilfusion are much better than them. I just think some of you could still have more fun and be around more. And in the overall picture, you guys are doing your duties very well and I'm satisfied with the current situation of the mod team. Mistakes like promoting Striker can be amended. J-Max
The Mod Team are fine in my opinion. I have a laugh with them from time to time and for the most part they do their jobs well. Ever since Crab and Frunk was demoted, things have been a lot calmer around here. A lot of people sang Crab's praises but he was a jerk. But yeah, I agree with the other members. Mods are still members and should put Modding second. Do what is required but be with us members too.

Flash Flyer - Sakura
I'm actually male; thought that video AMA I did cleared up the gender confusion. (And the obvious red notice in signature stating that, sigh) If I do have to lock a thread, either it's for obvious rulebreaking and/or spiraled into a troll thread (as seen with that member yesterday) or to deal with old content (finished contests/necrobumped cards). I rarely yell at people except for them to obey the Advanced Clause in CC, and that's done nicely.

Dracoswag
I don't think I can merit for being on this site long enough to know Mods on a "personal" level mostly because I never really made that connection. One of the fewer exceptions being Aix since they were one of the few Mods I did any kind of anything with. Sakura also appears to be the most active Mod in terms of answering questions about YCM as a whole so there is that. I am well aware of the Mods on this site but never truly had reached out to them about anything (but to be honest never had to up to this point.) I generally spend my time here lounging about in Miscallenous or wherever I can mingle with other members, and for me I find that fun. It is especially more interesting to me when Mods get involved in those activities. I appreciate everything the Mod team does for the site, and will continue to do but I don't think I made any connections with them other then what ever Thread I replied in or vice versa. I would love to have more connections with both the Mods and active members of this site, but maybe when I have been here for well over a year. The Mod team is great, so keep doing what you guys are doing.
Fusion X. Denver
I seem to be in the major minority here. I feel this is the most approachable bunch of mods within my 4+ years here. Zextra, Saber, Rinne and LZ seem to be the consistently inactive ones, but they've been great members I've seen plenty of around when they were active. Rinne was very active in CW/RP from what I saw and occasionally dabbled in Anime/Manga, LZ did a great job modding General (and participating in it) after MarbleZone left. I admittedly never saw much of Zextra or Saber's tenure in CC, but I've heard good things. And I saw them post plenty here and there before becoming mods, so I wouldn't say they're disconnected (inactivity aside). Roxas and Flame have always been personable guys and I see them regularly chat with members in Multimedia or wherever else. I haven't seen Mugen much lately, but when I do, he's interacting just finely with members and when Clubs were active, I always saw him making an effort to chat us up. Evilfusion is probably one of the members I know with the highest respect ever garnered on the forum. Whenever I lurk TCG, I see him talking YGO and participating just as equally as any other frequenters there. And I've seen him talk with people in the Arc V thread. He may come off as "formal" in his disposition, but I wouldn't label that as distant or as deity-like. Yin's always posted in General and in Pokémon topics and even though I've never talked to her much one-on-one, I'd say I have a good grasp of her person and so would most people. I've known JK (Sakura) since I first joined here, and I remember he really quickly got back into the swing of things at YCM after being inactive for a while to the extent where he scooped up a modship. I actually haven't seen him in places outside of CC lately, but that would be a recent thing; I've seen him posting in populated sections plenty of times after promotion. I don't even get why people are saying Night and Aix are distant too; I've seen them engage with plenty of members both in and out of Showcase and I remember them hosting board game sessions on Status Updates. To be honest, I remember noticing the radical change these two underwent after getting promoted and all the attention and praise they've earned since then as their respect and reps skyrocketed. You don't become that well-known or liked without engaging with the community. Especially with YCM standards. And even though he seems to be in hot water right now, Striker's always been involved in the community. He tends to be a polarizing presence, but the guy loves this place. Even with the constant negativity he's been exposed to, he always comes back. And honestly, I feel like that's a special trait everyone in the current mod team has. I apologize for sounding like a serious kissass at this point, but the one major sentiment I've picked up from every mod here is that they genuinely care about YCM. We've seen them be silly, we've seen them crack jokes and give no f*cks, we've seen them add freaking Xyz after, what, two years or something? We've seen them host easter egg hunts, creating Miscellaneous, doing their earnest best for their sections, giving good people a 2nd chance after being permabanned, and some other stuff. I've never really seen them as unapproachable deities out of reach; they honestly do seem like regular kids/young adults just like the rest of us. Whether I've known them for 4 years or for 1-2, even without interacting with them that often, I always felt like they would listen if I ever reached out to them. Sure, they aren't perfect. A forum's never gonna have a perfect mod team. But I am confident that the current mods are good people who actually do give a sh*t about us and the site. (and hey, school did just start recently, I know I haven't had as much time to post recently)
a bad post
I don't find the mod team unapproachable, but from the few mods I knew from before they became mods I just feel that... well they're different. Like Aix I feel that you became more distant, and a bit harsher after you got promoted, and I felt that you were a lot more lax when you were a member, but that's just my opinion. (I'm not even sure of your opinion of me though, so it might just be that you don't like me.) From what I see this is what I feel happened to Sakura to, I feel like he became a lot harsher and stricter after he became a mod. I feel the most friendly mods though are Zextra, evilfusion & Flame Dragon though the latter two I don't really have much interaction with.
