evilfusion
Real Self: I am fairly similar to here. I tend to isolate myself from other people in my free time, as I'm not comfortable sharing personal space. Similarly, I'm very bothered by people standing behind me. These problems are lessened if I'm not on a computer or writing. I'm easily irritated by distractions or noise that ruin my train of thought. I am occasionally moody and will either become quiet or seethe a bit. I'm not particularly assertive and dislike direct confrontations, but in a good mood, I'm very friendly if a bit eccentric and random. My style of speaking is similar to how I type here, but far more hindered by my ability to pronounce words or stumble over my thoughts. I'm also more likely to make jokes when in a good mood. My YCMself is more stoic much of the time. YCMself: Partially due to the nature of a text-based medium that doesn't require real-time interaction (as opposed to a chatroom, where real-time is important), I take far greater care to articulate my point in a way that can be considered inoffensive. Because real-time is not as large a factor, I am able to rewrite my statements many times before submitting them to make sure my emotions are not negatively affecting my tone, which is probably one reason people can consider me more distant or detached: It is a conscious and deliberate behavior. However, this reflects my natural personality of being logical and viewing things intelligently, rather than emotionally, so it is not much of a change. I am far more willing to help people on a whim here, partially because I have the forum power to do so, whereas in RL, I'm much more selfish, or at least self-contained. I've also noted to people that PM me that if I was annoyed by them messaging me or asking me things via PM, I wouldn't bother replying at that time. If you tried to talk to me in RL and I wasn't interested in doing so, you would get an increasingly clipped response.
Βyakuya
I'm more quieter IRL, but on sites like YCM I tend to be able to get out of my comfort zone and be more active in conversation, plus adding some qurikiness when I am here. But nowadays when I see more of the Internet people and their mannerims in real life, what I type and the persona I create here is emulated over there. J-Max
Real Life: I have Aspergers so really have trouble communication with people at times (This is why I am trying to put myself on Camera more for confidence) I also often try to diffuse situations as I hate conflict.... YCM: Before my ban, I was way over the top in the way I was. YCM was a release for me but maybe the perverted stuff was pushing it way WAY too far. Now I am much more subdued but can express myself better on here then in RL.
Cin
I'm more open on the internet, probably because it's all at an arms length and has no actually reverberations in real life. Plus I can indulge a little more in the voice inside my head. (Outside Facebook) although that's more in my stories. That and there's people here who like things the like, whereas in real life I know 3 people like Pokemon, 2 are work mates and 1 I haven't seen in a while. hypebeast
Im very expressive when I talk in real life, I love being specific about shit, which Im not in this website cause most of the times my posts consist of a blunt statement. Sploda
The only significant difference between myself IRL and on YCM is that I'm more likely to leave a stupid comment on the forum than I am to say it to someone. Mostly because the vast majority of people I know wouldn't understand what I was talking about. Aside from that, you probably couldn't tell the two apart. Azure Wolf
IRL - Like J-Max I also have Aspergers so my social skills are a bit off. When around people I'm not familiar with I'm usually quiet and leave the room if it gets to loud. I have some degree of confidence if it is something I enjoy or if I'm forced into something like a play or what not I take a minor non speaking role. I can sometimes come off quite cold as I express my opinions bluntly and can point out what is wrong with something easily if I see it. Despite my bad social skills I still try to get out and I believe hitting people with sticks and respecting the mentioned sticks helps (this is a brief description of kendo anyone unfamiliar with it). On YCM - I'm usually browsing the game section as most of my card ideas are a personal escape, though if I feel like they are decent enough I will post them. This sort of reflects my life as I am usually keeping to myself. Things which are roughly the same - Like most places on the internet I try to type with as much correct grammar as possible. This is the same in real life as I am obsessive about minor details which I can see. In conversations I don't leave comments unless I have something to add. This though is easy on here than in real life as most of the people my age have don't know what anime is or have misconceptions about it.
Death Metal
Believe it or not, I am more attractive, awesome, and godlike in real life as opposed to online. Just kidding, I am pretty much the same. :-/
Miror B
The Internet is my life I don't do real life Irl I'm usually found in my room on my own unless absolutely necessary. I do find time to visit old college buds or interact at card game tournaments Online I'm a bit more vocal, sometimes to a harsh extent. I argue/discuss much more here than Irl. Sleepy
I consider myself the same IRL than online. Though online is a sort of filter for my being. IRL, I can be around and be my quiet self, and people will know that I'm generally quiet and doing my own stuff. However, online is all about interactions. One not saying much is akin to one simply not being around at all, so as quiet as anyone might be IRL, online never really shows because we are only around for others when we are, well, online. Aix
I approach others easier online, and I do stuff more, but otherwise, I'm pretty much the same guy in real life.
Logan Primus
I have pretty bad social anxiety issues, so I'm silent at most times in public apart from around close friends. On the internet I run wild because I don't actually have to look at people to contact them, which is perfect for me. Specifically to YCM, I don't really act any different to real life. I sit on the sidelines and give input in conversations that I deem my reply would be worthy.
Yankee
I used to act a lot differently here than in real life. But then I learned that it just doesn't matter. Essentially, I've been myself since 2012.
