Atypical-Abbie
So, on DNF, they have this handy little bump button. This button resets once every 24 hours, making you able to put your post on top. That would be great to have here, as it looks bad to have a comment that just says "bump", and it also means that you don't have to worry about the time where you're allowed to bump, since that'd done by this button. Now, I don't know if this is an IP.Board feature, of it's something custom made, but I guess you could talk to the people over at DNF about that if you need to, of course, if this is something that the site is willing to do. Greiga
Doesn't editing a topic bump it?
AGATHODAIMON BANGTAIL COW
Doesn't editing a topic bump it? It does put it on the Last Post Info part of the subforum information thingy, but it doesn't actually move the thread to the top of the page when you go into that subforum. As for the button, I don't really see bumping as enough of an issue to warrant change. Sure, it'd be nice (and weird because eww change), but only fixes minor problems. Also, what if someone decides to be a troll and use this on an ancient topic, then somebody posts and it looks like said member is necrobumping? Even if mods know that the topic was bumped, they would still get reports of "member necrobumped a topic once this member is horrible plz permaban 4eva." They could do this with editing anyway, but a button makes me think they'd be more likely to do it.

If you mean one of your old topics, well, either make it so bumping only works if the topic wasn't a month old or what the amount is. And of course, the mods would know they they bumped it. Doesn't editing a topic bump it? Not as far as I know.
Cin
I suppose it would prevent unnecessary bumping, but I believe many of those people would still just bump before the time has run out through posting. So I'm on the fence about it's actual usefulness.

Goose
Seems like a fair amount of effort for the mods that would be pointless.

CaffeineBoost
I am 100% behind this idea.
Goose
There's no difference between the button and posting besides stoping people from getting +1 post count. I guess there is a point but it's small.
