WORLD OF DUEL

[Axiom_Nor]

 

What if, we were not alone in the universe? What if we all were part of something bigger, something so big, that nobody on earth could conceive of it? This is a story based on those "What if?'s".

Ayumu Narumi was a normal boy, with a normal family, until one day, that other universe took him. Now he longs for his normal life, and a way home, but that will not come easy...

"Ayumu... Ayumu... AYUMU! Wake up! Its time for school."

 

"*murf*... 5 more... *snore* minutes......."

 

"You'll get up now, or you're not going to the tournament tomorrow."

 

"I'M AWAKE!"

 

Ayumu hurries down the stairs, to eat his breakfast and run.

 

"If you eat that fast, you're going to get cramps."

 

"aww stuff it mom."

 

"Ayumu! Don't speak to your mother that way!"

 

"sorry mom..."

 

"Just finish your breakfast and run."

 

Ayumu looks at the clock, and realizes that his bus comes in 2 minutes.

 

"*URMPH*" as he chokes on his cereal, he realizes he can't miss the bus.

 

Ayumu runs out the door, swinging on his backpack, and grabbing his cards.

 

Half way down his street, he realizes that he accidentally grabbed his cards.

 

"Aww, dang, what am I going to do with these!"

 

Ayumu's bus drove up to its stop as he realized he had to take his cards with him.

 

"*Daylights*! this is going to be a bad day, i know it."

 

As he runs, he realizes that nothing around him is moving. Ayumu slowly stops, and looks around.

 

"What? Whats going on?"

 

A dark cloaked character walks out of a wooded area.

 

"You have breached the gap, Ayumu Narumi."

 

"Who are you?"

 

"We are the ones who know the bridge."

 

The cloaked character pulls off his hood, revealing a face that looks almost human, but without hair or a nose.

 

"What are you?" Ayumu responds with a calm tone.

 

"We are the ones of the other realm."

 

As he is speaking, an aura envelops his both of their left arms, forming two similar duel disks, the only difference is, Ayumu's was gold.

 

"What in Ra's name is going on?"

 

For the first time in his life, Ayumu looked supprised.

 

"Load your deck. You are the one who can breach the gap."

 

The hooded character pulled a deck out of his belt pouch, and loaded it into his duel disk.

 

"Fine, if thats what will make this end."

 

Ayumu loads his deck, and 2 giant counters apeared over their heads.

 

"Those count your life points, if they hit 0..."

 

Ayumu interrupting, "Let me guess, I die?"

 

Both of them draw 5 cards, and the game begins.

Chapter 2:

~Friday, April 2nd, 2008

~Suburban, New York, USA

 

Ayumu and the cloaked duelists were standing, the duel had just begun, and Ayumu was actually nervous.

 

"We shall each start with 4000 Life Points, the tradition in your world."

 

"Tradition?"

 

Ayumu became more and more interested with every word the cloaked man said.

 

"The guest has the first draw, so I shall go."

 

"I guess thats OK with me, I can win either way."

 

"Boastful, I shall Draw!"

 

"I activate Magical Mallet, and shuffle 3 card back."

A giant mallet apears above the cloaked duelists head, and 3 card from his hand fly into it, then the mallet hits his deck, shuffling the cards into his deck.

"Now I draw 3 cards."

 

Ayumu was trying to analize his strategy, and he couldn't grasp it, why would he use magical mallet, and select 3 cards, its a -1 hand advantage, unless he was running exodia.

 

"Not a bad play for an Exodia deck."

 

"Ah, so you are as perceptive as you seem. Now I activate Dark World Dealings, now we each draw 1 card, and then discard one."

 

"Thats a strange card for an exodia deck. I discard my Mind Haxorz."

Ayumu couldn't get his head around this guy's strategy.

 

"So, you're not as perceptive as you first appeared. I discard The Left Leg of the Forbidden One"

 

"Now, I set one card in Face-Down defense position, and end my turn."

 

"My turn, Draw!"

 

":) I activate CONVULSIONS OF NATURE!"

All of a sudden, a tornado, a typhoon, an earthquake, and a flash flood all hit the surrounding area. A twister comes down, and flips both players decks upside down.

 

"What just happened!?!?!?"

 

"Do not worry," the cloaked man said "They will never know."

 

"As long as everyone else is OK. I activate Temple of the Kings!"

A Large golden temple appears behind Ayumu.

"This lets me activate traps on the turn they are set. Now I set, and activate Disturbance Strategy!"

 

All of a sudden a row of fire appears around the cloaked duelist, and grabs his hand, and shuffles it into his deck.

 

"I see" said the cloaked man. "now you can look at the cards that I am about to draw."

 

The cloaked man draws Emissary of the Afterlife, and 2 Deep Divers.

 

"Your almost there, now I activate D.D. Designator, and I select Emissary of the Afterlife."

 

D.D. Warrior Lady appears before the cloaked duelist, and stabs his hand with the dimensional sword, and his card disappears.

 

"Well, there goes my Emissary, but there are always more where that came from."

 

"Now I summon Ocean's Keeper!"

A medium sized fish emerges before Ayumu, wielding a trident spear.

"Now Ocean's Keeper, attack his face-down monster!"

 

The face-down card flips over, and a small, three eyed clawed monster emerges, and is stabbed by the trident spear.

 

"Sangan... oh well, my Keeper deals piercing damage, so you still take damage!"

 

The counter above the cloaked duelists head drops to 3100.

 

The cloaked duelist flinches pain, and his arm starts to bleed.

 

"Woah! this is nuts, you need help!"

Ayumu starts to run twords him,

 

"STOP! if you touch me, you shall accept defeat, I shall duel till the end of one of us!"

 

Ayumu began to realize the craziness of his actions...

Oh well, on to chapter 3:

 

Ayumu was shocked, he never realized the dangers of risking ones life, the cloaked duelist was bleeding from his arm, and he had only lost 900 life points.

Ayumu didn't want to imagine a few thousand points of damage.

 

The cloaked man had sangan.

"I add my Emissary of the Afterlife to my hand"

Ayumu's turn was up.

"I shall draw. I draw my Mystical Space Typhoon, and activate it on your convulsions of nature."

 

All of the weather storms are blown away in one giant tornado, and both players decks are flipped back.

 

"Darn, there goes my foresight."

 

"Stop your blathering! I summon Deep Diver, in defense mode."

An old-fashioned diver with a hammer comes from a puddle on the street.

 

"I never knew who was diving in those puddles..."

The cloaked man chuckles, that was the last thing you will laugh about, Ayumu.

 

"I end my turn, make your last move Ayumu."

 

"I doubt that, I draw! Now I summon my Ocean's Keeper!"

A second goldfish appears, holding the same trident spear.

 

"Now, Ocean's Keeper, Attack Deep Diver!"

 

The counter drops from 3100 to 2600, and the cloaked duelists leg begins to bleed.

"Thank you, *pant* now i can add any card from my deck to the top of it."

 

"Have it, you're going to need it. Ocean's Keeper, Direct attack!"

 

The counter drops to 1100, and the cloaked duelists legs start to fall apart from the inside out, and he starts to fade into noting.

 

"OK, i don't even want to know what happens when my life points drop, so you'll loose next turn."

 

"I take it its my turn. Draw. I activate, Card of Sanctity letting us both draw until we have 6 cards."

Cards rain from the sky, until both players have 6 card hands.

"Now I summon, EXODIOS THE ULTIMATE FORBIDDEN GOD!"

 

The ground shakes, as a gigantic 5 pointed star appears on the ground around the Cloaked Duelist. A Gigantic creature with a somewhat human appearance appears before the Cloaked Duelist.

 

"Now I shuffle all monsters in my graveyard into my deck."

 

Ayumu knew where this was going.

 

First, I activate 2 Foolish Burials! Sending my 2 Aqua Madors to the graveyard! Now I discard my Gate Guardian to activate Double Attack!"

 

Exodios hits both the Ocean's Keepers with his fists, Ayumu's life points drop to 3000, and his arm starts to bleed.

 

"GAH!!! HOW ARE YOU STILL STANDING!"

The pain was killing Ayumu.

 

"Stand up, if you wish to continue."

Ayumu stands up, slowly.

 

"I Draw! Now I activate Ocean's Keepers' effects, Special Summoning 1 Thousand-Eyes Jellyfish, and 1 Cranium Fish!"

A large Jellyfish with 1000 eyes, and a large fish with a brain jutting out from its head appear before Ayumu.

 

"Now I set 3 cards face-down, switch both my monsters to defense position, and end my turn."

 

"Hmph, I draw. And activate another Double Attack! discarding my Yubel-Terror Incarnate, to let Exodios attack twice!"

Exodios's fists glow.

"Exodios Destroy both his monsters!"

Exodios punches both the fish, destroying them.

"Now I discard two more pieces of Exodia, and activate my Turn Jump quickplay card, changing the turn to 3 turns in the future. Exodios, attack!"

 

"not so fast! I activate my Metal Reflect Slime!"

A giant metalic slime ball oozes out of the ground, and intercepts Exodios' punch.

 

"You have only sealed your fate, by exodios' effect, I send the last piece of the puzzle to the grave, meaning I WIN!"

 

Exodios grows even larger, and a large glowing sphere of energy appears in his hands.

"Exodios OBLITTERATE!"

 

As Exodios' attack hits Ayumu, his duel disk begins to glow, and the glow spread to the rest of his body...

Thanks, I've been thinking about the way the cloaked duelist wins, and I hate it.

 

It's so predictable, but I had to have ayumu lose for the plot to continue.

 

Now i really respect manga artists.

 

but anyways, I'll start chapter 4 later on today.

Chapter 4:

 

"Ayumu... Ayumu... AYUMU! Wake up!"

 

"*grumbles* Mom, its Saturday, i don't have to get up."

 

2 men stand next to each other, dressed in beat-up clothes, discussing Ayumu.

 

"It seems he has encountered one of 'them'..."

 

"but how is he alive?"

 

Ayumu awakens.

 

"huh, you talking about me?"

 

Ayumu comes to the sudden realization that he has no idea who these people are or where he is.

 

"WHO ARE YOU?!"

 

Ayumu jumps off of the makeshift bed and his arm materializes a duel disk, in the same manner as last time.

 

"You seem to have a duel instinct. But how are you alive?"

 

Ayumu lowered his duel disk, and let it dematerialize.

 

"I have no idea. The last thing I remember was my duel disk glowing, and then a bright golden light. Then I was here."

 

"You dueled one of them, didn't you?"

 

"Yea, I think so, he said he was 'the ones who know the bridge.'."

 

"Yes, that's them. I don't know how, but somehow you're alive, but 'they' seem to have done a number on your deck."

 

Ayumu checks his pocket.

 

"All my cards are gone..."

 

"Thats normally what happens when you can escape a duel with 'them', they destroy your deck, so you cannot fight them again."

 

The second man, who had remained silent until now, reaches into his belt pocket, and tosses Ayumu a pouch.

 

"I always keep a spare deck with me, in case we find one of you's."

 

His grammar wasn't perfect, but he seemed to be a nice guy.

 

"Thanks so much, and are all duels that intense?"

 

"Ohs no! Them guys are just psychos."

 

The first guy materializes his duel disk.

"We can duel now if you want."

 

"Yea, I think I might just... But what are your names?"

 

The first man says, "My name is Alexander, but you can call me Al."

 

The second man says, "My name is Danny, and you can call me Danny."

 

Ayumu looks at Danny, and just smiles.

 

"Well, Alex, Lets duel!"

 

Ayumu's duel disk Materializes, and the duel begins, without the giant counters above their heads.

 

"So, not all duels are that intense?"

 

"heh, like I said earlier, 'they' are insane."

 

"Ok, well, I guess I get to go first, because I'm the guest. I draw!"

 

Ayumu examined his hand, he had only just realized that he had only just seen the deck he was dueling with.

 

"OK, I'll set 1 card Face-Down, and Summon Beta the Magnet Warrior (1700/1600), in Attack Mode!"

A small yellow warrior Magnetically comes together.

"Its your turn Al."

 

"Ah, so you got Danny's Magnets. I draw! and summon Gladiator Beast Bestiari (1500/800) in defense position."

A green, almost human sized creature floats down in front of Al, and covers its self with its wings.

"I end my turn."

 

"Not bad Al, I Draw! Now I summon my Giant Rat(1400/1450), In Attack mode!"

A large rat, almost 5 feet tall runs up in front of Ayumu.

"Now Giant Rat, Attack Bestiari!"

The rat charges Gladiator Beast Bestiari, smashing it over the head with a large skull.

 

"Heh, now my Beast's effect activates, letting me summon my Gladiator Beast Murmillo(800/400),in defense, destroying your Beta!"

A giant puffer fish materializes from Al's deck, shooting spikes out of itself, destroying Beta.

 

"Darn, there goes my magnet. But what goes down, must come up! I activate Call of the Haunted, Bringing back Beta!"

Ghostly hands appear, from the earth, carrying Beta the Magnet Warrior back to the field.

"Now Beta, destroy Murmillo!"

Magnets fly off of Beta, hitting Gladiator Beast Murmillo, destroying it.

 

"Now Murmillo's effect activates, letting me special summon my Gladiator Beast Dimicari!"

The puffer fish flies back into Al's deck, and a giant bull-man comes out of his deck in the fish's spot.

 

"I end my turn, you're up Al."

 

"My turn, Draw!"

 

"I summon my Gladiator Beast Laquari(1800/400)! In Attack Mode!"

A large lion man comes up from the earth, in a pillar of flames.

"Now Laquari attack his Giant Rat!"

The Lion man fires a blast of flames at the rat, and the rat is destroyed.

 

-400 LP ayumu,

4000 Al

3600 Ayumu

 

"Now I special Summon my Gamma the Magnet Warrior! In Defense mode."

Another magnet warrior comes together in front of Ayumu.

 

"I end my turn, Ayumu."

 

"OK Al, I think I have this duel in the bag. First I summon the last Magnet Warrior, ALPHA!"

A third Magnet warrior Magnetically comes together in front of Ayumu.

"Now I tribute them all, to Special Summon my VALKYRION THE MAGNA WARRIOR (3500/3850)!"

The three Magnet Warriors split apart, and fuse together to create one giant magna warrior.

 

"So, you've managed to summon Valkyrion, I'm impressed."

 

"Now Valkyrion, Hyper Magna Slash! Destroy his Dimicari!"

Valkyrion's sword glows and he slashes the bull-man in half.

 

"Now I can use Dimicari's effect to special summon my favorite monster, GLADIATOR BEAST ALEXANDER!"

A large lion-man with a long mane and cyber wings flies down from the sky, and stands at Al's side.

 

"Wow, so thats Al's favorite monster... not bad at all, but not a match for Valkyrion."

 

"We'll have to see about that, you ending your turn?"

 

"I'll set 2 cards, and end."

 

"I Draw, Now I summon Gladiator Beast Secutor!"

A small lizard-man comes running twords Al.

"Now I contact fuse the three of my beasts together to create the ultimate Gladiator Beast Heraklinos (3000/2800)!"

A giant tiger-warrior appears before Al, wielding an ax and shield.

 

"Your monster is still no match for Valkyrion."

 

"We'll just see, I activate Wild Nature's Release, Adding Heraklinos' DEF points to his ATK points!"

Heraklinos grows to almost twice his size.

 

"No, now his ATK is 5800... enough to kill Valkyrion."

Heraklinos' ax becomes in flamed, and he slices Valkyrion in half.

 

-2300 Ayumu

4000 Al.

300 Ayumu.

 

"Due to Wild Nature's Release, my Gladiator Beast is destroyed, but before that, I will set 1 card face-down. Go."

 

"My turn, Draw! I activate Foolish Burial! Sending my Sangan to the graveyard from my deck."

 

"But thats foolish, why would you waste a sangan?"

 

"Because of the 1 card I added to this deck after seeing the rock monsters, Dark Calling."

A large hand with a black aura comes out of the ground, grabbing Valkyrion and Sangan from Ayumu's Graveyard.

 

"Now I summon Evil Hero Dark Gaia!"

A dark aura surrounds the duel, and a evil creature with stone wings flies over Ayumu's head, and attacks Al.

 

"NO! AYUMU! I activate my Sakuretsu Armor! Destroying Dark Gaia!"

The duel ends abruptly.

 

"Ayumu, you have to understand, in this world, evil cards are truly evil."

 

"But, the duel isn't over yet."

 

"The duel ended when you played Dark Calling. I will not duel the darkness within my own comrads."

 

"But what if I could turn the darkness into light?"

 

A golden glow surrounds the "Evil Hero Dark Gaia" card...

The card glowed, and faded, and Light Hero Holy Earth had been born.

 

"Thats one o' dem..."

 

Al and Danny both said at the same time,

"Synchros."

 

"What's a synchro?"

 

"Itsa monster, thats 'they' use."

 

Danny really needed some grammar lessons...

 

"More specifically, the higher up's within 'them' use them, and only 'they' can create them, or so I thought."

 

"Well, what do I do with it?"

 

"Don't ask me, I've just seen pictures, and heard rumors about them, i've never actually seen one."

 

Just then, the wind stopped. Nothing else was moving.

 

"I hast come to challenge the one with the holy card."

 

"Danny! Fast!"

All three of their duel disks materialize, and they load their decks.

 

"Come no closer peasants, only the one with the holy card shall duel me."

 

Danny and Al stand down, but do not lower their duel disks.

 

"Fine, Ayumu, be careful, don't let your guard down."

 

"Don't worry, my deck is different now."

 

Ayumu's deck flashes golden."

 

"Duel Start!"

 

Two giant counters appear above the duelist's heads, displaying 4000 Life points for each player.

 

"I'm the guest, I will go first!"

Ayumu Draws, until he has a 6 card hand.

"I summon Beta the Magnet Warrior (1700/1600) in Attack mode, Set 1 card face-down, and end my turn."

 

"I shall Draw! and summon my Nitro Synchron (300/100 When this card is sent to the Graveyard for the Special Summon of a "Nitro" Synchro Monster, draw 1 card.) And activate Swords of Revealing Light! Stopping you from attacking for three turns."

Three swords of light fall from the sky, surrounding Ayumu's field.

"I shall end my turn."

 

"Phew, no damage. I Draw!"

Ayumu was still freaked from his last duel with 'them'.

"I summon Alpha the Magnet Warrrior in Attack Mode! (1400/1700). And Activate Bounce! (Select 1 Spell Card on the field. The selected card's effect(s) that apply to 1 player or to 1 player's side of the field are instead applied to the opposite player.) Now the Swords are on your field!"

The swords of light fly across the field to the other duelist's field.

"Now Alpha, Attack Nitro Synchron! ALPHA MAGNETIC SLASH!"

Alpha the magnet warrior slashes Nitro Synchron in half, causing the duelist's life points to drop.

-1100 to Duelist.

4000 AYUMU

2900 Duelist

the duelist starts to bleed profusely.

"Now Beta direct attack!"

-1700 to Duelist.

4000 AYUMU

1300 Duelist

The duelist's body begins to collapse, and his bone splinters.

 

"You have played well ayumu, I was careless. I Draw! and activate Monster Reborn! Bringing back my own Nitro Synchron. Now I activate Double Summon! (You can preform a Normal Summon twice this turn.) Summoning my Maurauding Captain (LV3 1200/400 While this monster remains face-up on the field, your opponent cannot select another Warrior-Type monster on your side of the field as an attack target. When this monster is Normal Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster from your hand.). Now I special Summon my Command Knight (1600/1900 As long as at least 1 other monster exists on your side of the field, your opponent cannot select this card as an attack target. Also, increase the ATK of all Warrior-Type monsters on your side of the field by 400 points.) Now I use Double Summon's effect to sacrifice Marauding Captain to Normal Summon my Freed the Matchless General! (2300/1700 Negate the effect of any Spell Card that targets this card and destroy it. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, you can add 1 Level 4 or lower Warrior-Type monster from your Deck to your hand per turn instead of drawing 1 card from your Deck during your Draw Phase. Then shuffle your Deck.) Just then Ayumu's Light Hero Holy Earth started to glow a golden blue, sparking confidence and courage in Ayumu's heart.

"I WILL NEVER SURRENDER!"

 

"Fine, you have sealed your own fate, Nitro Warrior's ATK boosts 1000 during the turn I play a Spell card, Now Nitro Warrior Attack!"

 

"I activate Sakeretsu Armor! Destroying your monster and negating the attack!"

 

"NOT MY NITRO WARRIOR!!"

The duelist collapses on the ground.

 

"Are you ending your turn?"

 

The duelist stands up, with no cards on his field.

"I shall."

 

"I draw! And activate Double Summon! Normal Summoning Gamma the Magnet Warrior, Now MAGNETS MERGE!"

The three Magnet Warriors dis-assemble, and fuse into one mighty Magna Warrior.

"I summon Valkyrion the Magna Warrior! Now I use the effect of Double Summon to Normal Summon my Gil Garth (1900/1200)."

A demonic warrior with a deadly sword appears from the pits of hell.

"NOW SYNCHRO SUMMON!"

 

"You cannot Synchro Summon! You need a tuner!"

 

"Not for this one! I SYNCHRO SUMMON LIGHT HERO HOLY EARTH!"

A Bright silver-blue aura shrouds the entire duel area, and a shining stone warrior appears from the distance.

 

"Wow Al, thats the same guy that beat you."

 

"No, this time, its different. Its a creature of Light."

 

Light Hero Holy Earth Flies above Ayumu.

 

LHHE ATK = 4400

 

"Light Hero Holy Earth, Attack my opponent Directly!"

Light Hero Holy Earth spreads its wings, and several different sized rocks morph out of them, flying at the duelist.

 

-4400 Opponent

4000 Ayumu

0 Duelist.

The duelist dissipated into dust.

 

Al and Danny just stared blankly.

 

"What? What did I do?"

 

Still shocked, Al responded "You won... Nobody's ever actually won."

 

"What? but I thought you said some of you got away?"

 

"Yea, by running mid-duel, or before the duel, and hiding until they're gone."

 

"Nobody's doned that 'cept for Bakura."

.

"Wait... Did you just say Bakura?"

 

"Yessiree, he's defeated quite a lot of thems."

 

"Did he have long white hair? Slight bit of an accent?" gaydar

 

"Yea, thats him. You know him?"

 

Ayumu was begining to become freaked out, Bakura, from the crappy anime was actually the savior for this world of duel.

"can you take me to him?"

 

"hmmm that might be a bit of an issue..." Al chimed in, "...because Bakura's base is quite a distance from here."

 

"How far?"

 

"around 5 day's trek."

 

"great..."

Ayumu had never been very physically fit.

 

"Don't worry, if you need to, we can stop. Anything for another one who can defeat 'them'."

 

Ayumu knew they were being nice, and really wouldn't want to stop, but he felt gracious to these two.
