These are the beliefs of those native to Azmarin

 

On the gentle plane of Azmarin, creatures took to the seas, skies and forests to gather insight. It was believed that the plane granted insight to those who cared about it and only it.  But not all creatures remained this way, there were those that disrupt beliefs for their own personal gain. The creatures would do nothing but fight for the pleasure and to gain power. In search of knowledge, creatures had to go into hiding to protect themselves from those who try to gain power. In search of power, there were those who attacked and fought to gain power. Without fighting back, Magic is used for what it shouldn't be and the land is ravaged with those in search of knowledge. Until some took a stand, there was no force to fight back with, but those who did transcended into more. Radiated with power only obtainable by knowledge.The transcended learned that knowledge was power. Knowledge only obtainable by Power created the immanent, those who come to be of the plane, but not what it has to offer. Became such of the immanent.

So right now, I am in the midst of creating planeswalkers, but I don't want to have anything set in stone so I'll just post the written cards right now.

The benefits of the nonbasic cycle don't seem obvious to me. They work well with nonbasics like shocklands, but do you have duals like that in the format? Or am I missing something?

 

I got the same feeling. Usually, landcyclers are criatures or expensive utility spells, so they can act as mana fixers or work by themselves.
