Wavelength Manipulation. 

 

Like the name suggests, she can manipulate wavelengths. Any sort of wavelength, from electromagnetic waves, radio waves, soundwaves, lightwaves, radiation waves, anything goes. The amount of energy required to manipulate differ with each wavelength, with brainwaves and radiation waves being the most difficult and taxing, while soundwaves and lightwaves are much less tiring to use. When she activates the ability, she sees different waves around her, and she can change their wavelengths, either by making it very long, reducing the frequency, or by making it very short, increasing the frequency. Note that she can only directly manipulate the wavelength, not the frequency, amplitude nor the speed. 

 

While the ability may not seem terribly powerful as it only contains one damaging move, she's spent a lot of time making the most out of it and exploiting her powers to the fullest. Below are a list of her most common applications for her ability. 

Sound wavelength manipulation: She mainly uses this ability to drown out the sounds around her, essentially making her completely silent or by shortening the wavelength and increasing the frequency to ridiculous levels, harming anyone in the vicinity, including herself. 

Light wavelength manipulation: She can manipulate the light around her so that no light actually passes through her, essentially making her invisible. Note that she can't see anything when invisible, and keeping the invisibility for any more than 2 seconds at a time causes great strain. 

Electric wavelength manipulation: Mostly used in conjunction with her electro-katana. By shortening the wavelength and increasing the frequency, the electric coating on her sword increases its cutting power massively. Similar in principle to Raiden's sword in Metal Gear Rising or Killer Bee's swords in lolNaruto. Takes up more energy than the previous ones, so she only uses this when going for the kill.

Brainwave manipulation: Extremely tiring to use, so she uses it as a last resort. When she activates this, she can manipulate the brainwaves of one person. The effects of this vary greatly, and she hasn't used it enough to know what shortening or increasing the length will do. 

Time wavelength manipulation: Even more tiring to use than manipulating brainwaves. Using this is essentially a suicide attack unless she gets extra energy reserves. Same principle with all the others, except this one is universal, as time is constant. The effects of speeding it up or slowing it down will be felt by everyone and everything in the world. She can't keep up this ability for more than 5 seconds without running out of energy and collapsing herself, and can only go for a maximum of 10 before dying altogether. Not that she's aware of these limitations, as she never used it herself.

 

Limitations: 

1. She can only manipulate a total of 3 wavelengths at a time, even if it's the same type. E.g: Only manipulate 3 soundwaves from 3 sources of sound at one time.

2. She can only manipulate the wavelengths she sees.

3. The more she focuses, the more wavelengths she can see. Brainwaves and radiation waves are much harder to see than soundwaves. 

4. She cannot manipulate actual waves in the sea. That'd be ridiculous.

Slender and tall frame (around 1.88 m.). Shoulder-lenght, messy, dark blue hair. Grey eyes. Ever-present rimless glasses. When not in his school uniform, he likes to wear expensive, fancy-looking clothes.[/spoiler]

 

Personality: To sum it up, Jun is all about the status quo. Born in a wealthy family (his father is an important political figure in Academy City), he enjoyed a comfortable childhood, surrounded by luxuries. But instead of growing spoiled, he understood  his standing, and always strived to become a worthy heir to his family's reputation, by means of strict studying and training. His efforts seem to have paid off, since he is held in high regard by his family and acquaintances, and he's expected to follow after his father's steps in the political world. Noblesse oblige is very important to Jun, and because of that, he always tries to conduct himself correctly, and to help those who are in need.

All of that doesn't mean that Jun is a serious, stuck-up person; he also has his "cool guy" front to take care of. He does his best to come off as a sociable individual, and tries to approach everyone in a friendly way, whether he actually likes them or not. He tends to act flirty around girls that show an interest in him, but he's never been in a serious romantic relationship before. While he's usually an advocate of peace and dialogue, he takes some pride in his abilities and status as a Level 4 esper, and will engage in battle if the situation calls for it.

Behind this seemingly perfect facade, Jun also has doubts and insecurities like most teenagers. There's also a surprisingly hot-blooded side to his personality, that will only surface when provoked or under a lot of pressure. But most of the times, he will try his best to mantain the cool persona he worked so hard on creating.

Occupation: Third year high school student. Student council vice-president.

ESPer Level: 4

ESPer Ability: Photokinesis. Light manipulation, if you will. Has several applications, including but not limited to the following ones.
- Light Generation: Just as its name says, this ability can be used to generate flashes light, with the duration and intensity Jun desires. Useful for lightning up dark places, or to temporarily blind foes.
- Photokinetic Invisibility: Jun can turn himself or any other object/person invisible to others by manipulating light waves. Might be difficult to use on very large objects.
- Illusion: With the same method as above, he can create simple visual illusions. Nothing too sophisticated, though.
- Light Barrier Generation: Jun can create defensive barriers out of light of adjustable coverage. The wider the area the barrier covers, the less hits it can take.
- Light Burst: Jun can channel photon particles and project them from his hands (preferably) as an offensive weapon. The power and direction of the beams can be freely manipulated, but Jun might become exhausted if he puts too much energy into them.
- Complete Clarification: The "last resort" in Jun's arsenal, and something he avoids doing as much as possible. A highly destructive omnidirectional attack of light beams that emanates from his body lifting him in the air in the process. Has a maximum reach of about 10 meters in every direction. Jun will inevitably becomes drained out of energy after using this move, and more often than not, he faints.

Skills: -Charisma: His good looks, pleasant personality, and the way he has with words have made Jun both admired and envied. He's got something like a following in Ibaraki (mainly composed of female groupies), and tends to be the teacher's favorite student.
-Intellect: Jun isn't just a pretty face, he has a good head on his shoulders. Not that he usually uses it for something other than obtaining good academic results, though.
-Musical Skills: Having taken violin lessons since his early childhood, Jun is quite talented in the musical field. He thinks of it as nothing more than a hobby, though.

I'm not sure about other Level 5, but my character has long-range abilities, namely Ice daggers and Air components manipulation, so keep your character far from 20 feet around her seems not so hard, not to mention my character can still do something like create poison in the air around her while got stopped (Only if her power didn't also stop AIM field from working, I'm not so sure about it.)

The thing that would likely get your character the victory is the poison bit.
 
Ice wouldn't work even if you tried to achieve absolute zero.
 
If AIM fields are directly linked to a persons brain waves then it'd get stopped too. Because those effected can't even think. The only exception is Nanata, although it's still the same for her.

Name: Hattori Kotori (nicknamed 'ToriTori' by close friends. This is a Japanese name. Hattori is the family name.)

[spoiler=Appearance:] Kotori's hair is a very dark and deep blue, just like the sea. Her hair is tied up into a ponytail using a white band. Her eyes are a fine aquamarine. She is 183 centimetres high and has an F-cup. Her face is slightly toned, yet warm, mellow, and shows signs of chubbiness, akin to a mother caring for her baby. Underneath her school uniform, she has mild abs as a result from ninja training. Her skin is fair and smooth, and her figure is most curvacious.

As Kunoichi, she uses bandages to tie her bust size down to a C. She wears rather stereotypical, tight ninja outfits, obviously black in hue, and a mask over her mouth. Visors protect her eyes and her gloves are made from stainless steel alloys to enhance punches.

[spoiler=Personality:] Kotori has a very motherly figure, and a motherly personality to match it. She cares for her comrades and is very protective of them. When they are in danger, she will confront it with blade in hand, without any fear. This was what she was taught from young - those who can fend for themselves must aid those who cannot. She shows a great deal of mercy and restraint when it comes to practice fights, fighting on par with a couple levels below hers.

As an extension of her motherly personality and ninja heritage, she tends to discipline or comfort those who have performed wrong when teachers aren't around, be it friend or foe.

Kotori shows her kindness and strength to all, and in fact, people will find it comfortable to share their problems with her. However, she rarely shares her own problems with others, and bottles them up.

As Kunoichi, she is more merciless and cruel. She still has her sense of justice and law, so she chooses to knock her opponents out after mentally torturing them or body-controlling them. She mainly targets those who harm the innocent, and she knows that she must flee when her opponent is too powerful. [/spoiler]
[spoiler=History:] Kotori is a ninja from the Hattori clan, who travel about with a motive to aid others. Kotori was born a little different - she was a Gemstone, a naturally-occuring Esper. Ever since young, she has displayed the ability to control the very element of water, which intrigued her family. It was both a help and hindrance, which was why her grandfather, Hattori Hanzo, requested that she head off to a new environment with many like her - Academy City, in hopes that she will learn more about herself.

That was on her thirteenth birthday, and slightly less than three years have passed since then. This year, she begins High School...

ESPer Level: 5
[spoiler=ESPer Ability: Undine] Her Esper Ability, Hydro Hand, is at Level 5, and is a subclass of telekinesis. This gives her the nickname 'Undine'. Canonically, Hydro Hand is capable of manipulating water. At this level, it can be pretty dangerous. She can drain water from the very soil, or plants, or simply the ground or a water body. By manipulating water on the molecular level, she can change it inbetween three different states, additionally, allowing her to summon water from thin air.

Her preferred style of offense is firing pressurised blasts of water, or for more solid strikes, ice shurikens. Her Hydro Hand is powerful enough to create a jet of water to jump up to 20 metres high. This speed-boosting attack creates powerful tackles, and considering her strength, you might suffer a fracture.

Additionally, this level of Hydro Hand allows her to control water bodies that have other solutes. This includes human blood. This will allow her to control the bodies of other living beings, including humans, within a ten-metre radius. As these bodies of water are contained with a thick flesh layer and only make up 70% of the body, she cannot explode a human, although she can drain sweat on their bodies. Of course, humans will have enough will to struggle out and hopefully, escape her range. She can control up to a hundred litres of water at one go. Seeing that a human has 5 litres of blood, her armada can hold up to twenty humans if she doesn't control other water bodies. She prefers to only displays these body-controlling abilities in her vigilante-based persona. In fact, she has not displayed these in any other situation.

There are many other things she can do with water, such as summoning mist from water vapour in the air, or walking on water.

Skills: She is extremely skilled in light weapons such as simple daggers or katanas, and is especially skilled in ninja weapons like kunai and shurikens. She has great athletics and reflexes as well.
Other Information: She possesses an arsenal of melee weapons in her inventory, but only her dual katanas have been seen. As her alter ego and vigilante persona, Kunoichi, she uses kunai and shurikens.

Is it alright to look over mine?

Water is everywhere. That makes Hydro Hand theoretically pretty broken once you get to the higher levels.

I might have considerations to create a character who can see the trajectory of ESPer abilities, mainly telekinesis-based ones. His ability is an altered version of AIM Stalker, so is it alright if I give him some extent of ability mimicry?

@Jolta: From what I saw, your character is coming along wonderfully, and by placing various limitations on the ability, I think that you managed to make it balanced for a level 5. Currently, the personality section is a little light, fill it up a bit more and it ought to be fine. The vigilante alter-ego is a fun idea, and I GREATLY appreciated the fact that the ability to manipulate blood has been limited so that the couldn't, say, just stop someone's heart. Accepted! Additionally, I like your secondary character idea, but I simply can't figure out how seeing the diffusion fields would allow one to mimic abilities. This is the sort of thing that I can't imagine being doable outside level 5. Of course, being able to identify Espers as well as their abilities at nothing more than a glance is very powerful, and could suit a character well.

Kokone is a very bright and cheerful girl who never gets angry in any situation, even when talking about her parents who were murdered, she will just say with a sad smile that it's her fate and she has to accept it. she is very sociable and friendly to others so that she seems to know everyone in her class and probably in her year. During the school time, she is always being seen in a large group of girls. she also kind to everyone around her and even to animal like stray cats. Also, she doesn't want anyone to hurt, especially those who are familiar to her. After being rescued by Megumi, she moved to Ibaraki Middle, entered as a 2nd year student and shared the same dorm room with Megumi, even it's far from her Middle School building. Furthermore, she became Megumi's best friend and now acts like her younger sister as Megumi naturally likes to protect others.

 

Kokone is one of the few who knows Megumi's secrets like MATTER or that she took a Testament, in fact since Megumi did all that to protect Kokone more effectively, she always helps Megumi to cover it. Kokone also plays a supporting role in MATTER, as she is capable of recovering allies AIM and, if necessary, draining or disrupting enemies AIM. Though the latter case is stated in one of conditions Megumi made when joining MATTER that nobody can hurt or make Kokone sad unless Megumi or Kokone herself accept with it. However, if Kokone knows that Megumi happens to have even a little chance of being defeated, she is more likely to stab or shoot herself and use her power to help Megumi, immediately. Though said event never happened.

Although Kokone was born in a poor family, her parents have tried their best to send her to Academy City where they believed could change her life. During the day of her System Scan, some researchers paid a visit for some business and came to watch newcomers' System Scan to kill their time. That's when they noticed some strange result in Kokone's scanning, more precisely the special kind of result which known by only a few that it proved an existence of a hidden gemstone power. After that scan, they contacted her and requested her for a "random power research" which she believed and accepted to join without any question. Later, those researchers examined and classified her hidden power as a Level 4 "AIM Resonance" (since all powers related to AIM are considered as rare powers), they then contacted her parents and tried to buy her from them with a huge amount of money, but of course, they got rejected. After let her go back to her dorm where her parent also temporarily stayed, the research facility immediately contacted higher-ups which could utilize the dark side of Academy City. That night, MATTER, the low-grade faction which has the advantage of number of Esper, who got this job began their works, they attacked Kokone's dorm and try to catch her, but her parent sacrifice themselves and let her escape the room. They were mercilessly killed by the group by their power, Kokone ran into a dark alley and tripping over some pipe. When she thought she couldn't do anything anymore and decided to give up, a huge block of ice flew toward one of her pursuer with the subsonic speed before knocking him out...

Esper Level: 1

Using a cylinder shaped object, such as her toy mic she always holds, a pen or even a branch, Kokone can transmit her voice and amplify it in a small determined area (max. 30 m. radius sphere) without a speaker. Since this power rely on AIM field's stability, she can only transmit her voice within Academy City, and only within 1 km from herself.

 

However, that was only what System Scan could detect. According to researchers, Kokone possesses another hidden usage of her power that couldn't be detected by System Scan which they separately named "AIM Resonance". While Kokone's singing, her voice affects all AIM dispersion field of those who heard her song. How it affects them is based on her emotional condition at that time. The more strong Kokone's feeling is, the more effects' intensity. For instance, if she's in good mood like happy, relieved or whatever, the affected Espers gain more AIM regenerating speed as well as its max capability, causing a temporary level up potential as well as recovering those who exhausted from using too much power. If her heart is filled with sorrow, the Espers who heard her song will exhaust faster than usual, as each power usage drain more concentration and releases more AIM than needed. And what made her invaluable to researchers was; if she has been severely hurt or tortured while or shortly before singing, it will create an AIM disruption song that disrupting AIM fields, malfunctioning powers and having affected Espers recieve a severe headache-like pain as if they brain will break apart. the more powerful Espers, the more painful it is to them. This AIM disruption song is confirmed by researchers to be far more effective than AIM Jammer if she is badly injured.

Aqua, that is looking great so far. Loving how the ability is restricted by use of a tool, reminds me quite a lot of the "Move Point" ability with the flashlight.

Ichijo stands at a somewhat short 5'3" weighing in at a petit 102 lbs. As similar to above she has relatively small dimensions having an A-cup bust nearly non-existent hips, a point of which she is not to happy when pointed out. Although closed in the above picture her eyes are an electric yellow color, and when she is in control of her machines they begin to glow. Not a very lady-like person either, rather than a dress Ichijo's daily attire, while not wearing her school uniform, consists of several pairs of clothes that look extremely worn, and are far to big for her with a thin black hoodie, and a pair of high-top sneakers which are almost always kept unlaced.[/spoiler]

[spoiler='Personality']Being a Level 5 Esper the first thing many people note about Ichijo is her arrogance, and she's probably one of the most prideful and snobbish people you'll ever meet. "High" off her own intelligence Ichijo automatically assumes that she knows more about whatever the subject at hand may be. That being said her arrogance is not completely unfounded, though it is often quite grating to anybody that speaks with her. A very blunt person Ichijo does not often bother with honorifics or politeness, feeling that most people are below her and if they are below her she need not treat them with respect. In her mind for Ichijo to respect someone they must be equal to her every way.[/spoiler]

 

 

Occupation: Student/Inventor/Information Broker 

ESPer Level: 5

ESPer Ability: Motherboard - Quite simply if something has a CPU in it Ichijo can access the entirety of its contents by simply touching it. Her ability allows her to bypass any security system with ease as her ability allows her to perform prime factor decomposition's allowing her to break through encryption keys that would normally take decades to hack in mere seconds. Her ability allows her to also download any piece of digital information into her memory, or digitize parts of her memory to be stored in memory drives that she can access at any point in time, provided they are accessible, giving Ichijo a near perfect memory. Ichijo's ability also applies to AIs as well, allowing her to transfer freely thinking AIs into any type of machine by copying her brain waves and converting them into data. With this ability she can turn even a common vending machine or toaster into a highly advanced robot. As such each and every AI she creates in this way will in some way be based on her personality and style of thinking. Ichijo's ability to make AIs is not simply limited to this though, depending on how much time she is willing to invest she can create basic AIs in a matter of seconds, or in the case of one more complex in personality and advanced in free thinking several years.

 

Ichijo can also digitize her consciousness to metaphorically be in several place at once. Examples of this would be observing several security footage feeds at once, or directly controlling her combat drones all at once. 

Skills: Genius Level Intellect: Ichijo's IQ is 195 making her one of the smartest people on Earth, which often comes in handy when trying to building advanced AIs or robots from scratch. 

 

Combat Drones/Robots: Being a shut-in Ichijo is not really one someone would assume to be some sort of top level martial artist. Thankfully though she has a few inventions that can assist her in combat.
