Wyhe
I have been starting on a new type of monsters-the Duos monsters.Duos monsters all work with another Duos monster. They all have tha ability to swap summon their counterpart during the standby phase.A 'swap summon' is the normal summon for the turn, just like the '2nd summon' for gemini monsters.Swap Summon can only be done in your Standby Phase. When you do so,you can't normal summon as that summon is considered as this turn's normal summon. Here's an example of my work. The Shadowy ResearcherDARK/Spellcaster/DuosLV 4/ATK 1000/DEF 1000During your Standby Phase,if this card is face-up on the field, you can send this card to the graveyard in order to swap summon "The Bone Crusher" from your deck or graveyard. The Bone CrusherDARK/Warrior/DuosLV 6/ATK 2400/DEF 600This card cannot be summoned except by swap summon. This card can only be swap summoned by effect of "The Shadowy Researcher".When this card attacks, you can discard 1 card to increase this card's ATK by 1000.During your Standby Phase,if this card is face-up on the field, you can send this card to the graveyard in order to swap summon "The Shadowy Researcher" from your graveyard or deck. Sacred IncarnateLIGHT/Warrior/DuosLV 7/ATK 2700/DEF 2100You can tribute summon this card by tributing 1 monster if there are exactly 3 monsters on the opponent's field. When this card attacks a DARK monster, destroy it without damage calculation & inflict 1000 points of damage to the opponent.During your Standby Phase,if this card is face-up on the field, you can send this card to the graveyard in order to swap summon "Havohej the Sacred Being" from your deck or graveyard. Havohej the Sacred BeingDIVINE/Thunder/DuosLV 10/ATK 4000/DEF 4000This card can only be swap summoned by effect of "Sacred Incarnate".By tributing 2 monsters you control, destroy all monsters your opponent controls & inflict 600 points of damage for every monster destroyed by this effect. If you use this effect, your Battle Phase is skipped. This card cannot be destroyed by card effects.During your Standby Phase,if this card is face-up on the field, you can send this card to the graveyard in order to swap summon "Sacred Incarnate" from your deck or graveyard. Illusionary Baby DragonLIGHT/Dragon/DuosLV 3/ATK 1300/DEF 800This card cannot be attacked by a monster with 1600 ATK or higher.During your Standby Phase,if this card is face-up on the field, you can send this card to the graveyard in order to swap summon "Illusionary Dragon" from your deck or graveyard. Illusionary DragonLIGHT/Dragon/DuosLV 8/ATK 2900/DEF 2000This card can oly be sawp summoned by effect of "Illusionary Baby Dragon".When this card attacks, all traps, spells & monster effects are negated.During your Standby Phase,if this card is face-up on the field, you can send this card to the graveyard in order to swap summon "Illusionary Baby Dragon" from your deck or graveyard. and as a bonusIllusionary DragunLIGHT/Dragon/FusionLV 9/ATK 3200/DEF 2000"Illusionary Dragon"+"Lord of D."This card can only be fusion summoned with the cards above.Negate any spell, trap & monster effect that affect a dragon-type monster you control.Once per turn, remove a dragon-type monster in your graveyard from play in order to increase this card's ATK by half of the removed monster's original ATK until the End Phase of this turn. musta001
how do you get the pictures? Link to comment
Umbra
Interesting concept. But Bone Crusher is overpowered. Est. damage is 4400 (2400 ATK + 1000 from effect - (-1000) from other effect) and all you need to do is sending researcher to the Graveyard. Link to comment
Wyhe
I've took note of that & made some change. Also made Duos monsters' swapping effect optional. Link to comment
Umbra
The cards themselves are better now, especially Bone Crusher. Now, to the hard part, the OCG. You need to specify the Swap Summon (capitalized, btw) requirements. Can you Normal Summon/Set/Special Summon Bone Crusher in any other way? Also, you should remove the tags from Researcher. Link to comment
CrabHelmet
The Shadowy Researcher's first effect alone makes it overpowered. Tutor any spell from deck to hand? Link to comment
Wyhe
I've elatborated on the concept of Duos monsters' unique feature-Swap Summon. And I've made modifications to my 1st pair & I'll be making more of them. Link to comment
SushiTheLegend
An interesting concept indeed, it makes me want to try the concept myself. Link to comment

bury the year
This effect doesn't warrant a new "type"... Link to comment
Dark_Pride
and as a bonusIllusionary DragunLIGHT/Dragon/FusionLV 9/ATK 3200/DEF 2000"Illusionary Dragon"+"Lord of D."This card can only be fusion summoned with proper fusion material monsters.Negate any spell' date='trap & monster effect that affect a dragon-type monster you control.Once per turn, remove a dragon-type monster in your graveyard from play in order to increase this card's ATK by half of the removed monster's original ATK.[/quote'] "Illusionary Dragon"+"Lord of D."This card can only be Fusion Summoned by the above cards. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, all Dragon-Type monsters you control are unaffected by Spells, Traps, or Effect Monster Cards. Once per turn, you can remove a Dragon-Type monster in your graveyard (on your side of the field?) from play in order to increase this card's ATK by half of the removed monster's original ATK (until the End Phase of your turn?). -This is somewhat overpowered. Maybe, you could make it less overpowered by doing any of the suggestions below*stating that the ATK increase lasts only until the End of the turn.*instead of removing monsters from your Graveyard to gain the ATK increase, change that to this "Once per turn, you can remove a Dragon-Type monsters on your side of the field ..."*should be Special Summoned by removing the above cards on your field from play.
