The reason Blaziken wasn't used was because you could only use Pokemon in the Kalos Dex. Blaziken isn't in the Kalos Dex.

 

Also, Pachi was also likely run for Nuzzle, Which is a Thunder Wave that breaks Shashes (Thhough unfortunatly is blocked by King's Shield in Return)

Yep, it fills an important niche for the team as a relatively speedy Follow Me user with passable bulk and Volt Absorb to cover for Gyara, which is his ace.

 

But still, surviving 3 super effective stab earthquakes, is ridiculously impressive.

 

Also nuzzle yeah, one of the better users of it.

I wonder if this sort of rule will mean the megas we've seen that weren't in RSE are actually going to be added to the Hoenn dex so that it's expanded enough for the rule to remain when the new games come out.

I don't think so.

We've had a leak on Salamence's Dex number in ORAS, which is exactly 9 more than it was in RSE; there are also 9 Pre/Evolutions of Pokemon that were in the RSE dex that were introduced in Gen 4, so there's no room for any of them.

Unless they pull a Platinum and add them in after Rayquaza. Still, I wouldn't get your hopes up.
