Draconus297
Yes, another large set made primarily of monsters. Yes, artless as per usual. This time, however, there's an attached chance to get Points. Stick around. Temple of Endless Aeons Field Spell When this card is activated, banish the top card of both players' Decks. If, during your Standby Phase, there are no banished cards, destroy this card. This card cannot be destroyed except by its own effect. During the Standby Phase of every turn, inflict 100 damage to both players' Life Points for each card in both Banished Zones. If a player controls a face-up "Aeon" monster, that player takes no damage from this effect. Once per turn, you can remove one Aeon Counter from this card to banish one card on the field or in the Graveyard. The Aeon Stream Field Spell This face-up card on the field is treated as "Temple of Endless Aeons". "Aeon" and monsters you control gain 100 ATK for each card in the Banished Zone. While you control a face-up Level/Rank 6 or higher "Aeon" monster, all cards are banished when they leave the field. You can remove 3 Aeon Counters from this card: Special Summon 1 "Aeon" monster from your hand or Banished Zone.
Aeonemnus, Messenger of Vessault LIGHT - Level 4 - Fairy/Effect - 1200/2000 When this monster is Normal or Special Summoned, you can add 1 "Aeon" Spell Card from your Deck to your hand. If either player Special Summons a monster(s): Place 1 Aeon Counter on "Temple of Endless Aeons" for every monster Summoned. If there are 8 or more Aeon Counters on "Temple of Endless Aeons": You can treat this monster as Level 8 for an Xyz Summon. Aeon Magician DARK - Level 6 - Spellcaster/Effect - 2200/1800 During each of your Standby Phases, place one Aeon Counter on "Temple of Endless Aeons" for every face-up "Aeon" monster on the field, except "Aeon Magician". If your opponent activates a card or effect during your turn, you can remove 1 Aeon Counter from a face-up "Temple of Endless Aeons" you control to negate and banish that card. You can only activate this effect up to twice per turn. Aeon Magician Girl DARK - Level 4 - Spellcaster/Effect - 1600/1200 Once per turn, you can banish one card from your Graveyard to change the Level of this monster to match one Spellcaster-Type monster you control. Every time a Spell Card is activated, place one Aeon Counter on "Temple of Endless Aeons". If this monster and "Aeon Magician" are destroyed or banished in the same turn, Special Summon both this monster and "Aeon Magician" from your Graveyard or Banished Zone. Infinite-Eyes Aeon Dragon DARK - Level 7 - Dragon/Effect - 2500/2100 If this monster destroys your opponent's monster by battle, banish the opposing monster instead of sending it to the Graveyard or Extra Deck. Once per turn, you can remove 2 Aeon Counters from "Temple of Endless Aeons" to target 1 monster your opponent controls: negate its effect(s), if any, also all battle damage your opponent takes in battles involving the target is doubled. These changes last until the end of the turn. Infinite-Eyes Distortion Dragaeon LIGHT - Level 8 - Dragon/Effect - 2800/2400 You can remove 2 Aeon Counters from "Aeon" cards you control: Special Summon this monster from your hand or Banished Zone. At the start of the Battle Phase, place 1 Aeon Counter on "Temple of Endless Aeons" for every face-up "Aeon" card you control. Once per turn, during either player's turn, if you activate the effect of an "Aeon" card on the field, except "Infinite-Eyes Distortion Dragaeon", you can activate the following effect: ●This card gains that effect until the end of the turn. Infinite-Eyes Aeon Overlord DARK - Level 8 - Fairy/Effect - 2800/2700 If there are 3 or more banished cards, or 6 or more Aeon Counters on the field, you can Special Summon this monster from your hand. You can banish 1 "Aeon" card from your Graveyard to target 1 card on the field or in the Graveyard: Destroy that target. If "Temple of Endless Aeons" has 8 or more Aeon Counters on it, a card destroyed by this effect is banished. If you control "Temple of Endless Aeons", you can banish 1 "Aeon" monster from your hand or Graveyard: This monster's name and Level on the field become the banished monster's until the end of this turn, then place 1 Aeon Counter on "Temple of Endless Aeons". You Aeon Samurai EARTH - Level 3 - Warrior/Effect - 1100/1100 If your opponent has 5 or more banished cards, this monster can attack your opponent's Life Points directly. If this monster inflicts Battle Damage, place 1 Aeon Counter on "Temple of Endless Aeons". If your opponent activates a card's effect in response to this monster's attack, you can remove 1 Aeon Counter from "Temple of Endless Aeons" to negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it. Aeon Scout WIND- Level 3 - Warrior/Effect - 1200/900 You can banish this monster from your hand or side of the field: Add 1 "Temple of Endless Aeons" from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. Aeon Succubus DARK - Level 3 - Fiend/Effect - 1300/900 As long as this card is face-up on the field, all card effects your opponent activates must target this card. If an effect targeting this card does not apply to it, banish the card whose effect was activated. If this monster was destroyed by a card's effect, place 3 Aeon Counters on "Temple of Endless Aeons". Aeon Priestess LIGHT - Level 2 - Spellcaster/Tuner/Effect - 900/700 As long as this card is face-up on the field, "Aeon" monsters you control cannot be selected as an attack target. When this monster is used to Synchro Summon an "Aeon" monster, place 8 Aeon Counters on "Temple of Endless Aeons". Aeon Student DARK - Level 2 - Spellcaster/Effect - 1000/600 If an "Aeon" monster you control is targeted by your opponent's attack or card effect, you can change this monster's Battle Position to negate that attack or effect, also place 1 Aeon Counter on "Temple of Endless Aeons" (You can only activate this effect up to twice per turn). If there are 6 or more Aeon Counters on "Temple of Endless Aeons", you can target 1 "Aeon" monster you control: This monster's Level becomes that monster's Level. Aeon Doppel WATER - Level 2 - Aqua/Effect - 600/1000 If "Temple of Endless Aeons" has 6 or more Aeon Counters on it, this monster can substitute any 1 Fusion Material for a Fusion Summon. Up to twice per turn, during either player's turn, if an "Aeon" monster you control battles, you can remove 1 Aeon Counter from "Temple of Endless Aeons" to make the ATK of 1 of the battling monsters equal to its DEF, and vice versa. If this card is banished, place 1 Aeon Counter on "Temple of Endless Aeons" for each of your banished "Aeon" cards.

Aeon Paladin DARK - Level 8 - Spellcaster/Fusion/Effect - 3000/2700 "Aeon Magician" + "Aeon Samurai" You can Special Summon this monster from your Extra Deck by sending the above monsters from your side of the field to the Graveyard and banishing one Spell Card from your Graveyard (This is treated as a Fusion Summon). Once per turn, you can remove one Aeon Counter from this card to banish one monster on your opponent's side of the field- negate its effect(s), if any. Once per turn, you can banish 2 monsters from your Graveyard: Place 1 Aeon Counter on every face-up card you can place an Aeon Counter on, and if you do, you can treat this monster's name as the name of one of the banished monsters (this monster is still an "Aeon" card). Once per turn, you can remove 5 Aeon Counters from the field to Special Summon 1 monster from either player's Banished Zone: If you activate this effect, this monster cannot attack this turn.

Aeon Monk EARTH - Level 6 - Spellcaster/Synchro/Tuner/Effect - 2400/1200 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters While you control this monster, other "Aeon" card's you control cannot be destroyed or targeted by your opponent's card effects. If this monster is in your Graveyard, you can remove 1 Aeon Counter from "Temple of Endless Aeons" and banish 1 other "Aeon" monster from your Graveyard, you can select and activate 1 of the following effects: ●Special Summon this monster with its ATK reduced to 0, and its Level equal to the Level of the banished monster. ●Special Summon this monster as a Level 8 monster, with its effects negated. Aeon Sorcerer DARK - Level 8 - Spellcaster/Synchro/Effect - 3000/2500 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner "Aeon" monsters Increase this monster's ATK by 300 for every Spellcaster, Dragon, and Warrior-type monster in the Graveyard and Banished Zone. If this monster is the target of your opponent's attack or card effect, you can send one banished card to its original owner's Graveyard to negate the attack or effect. If "Temple of Endless Aeons" is face-up on the field when this monster is Summoned successfully, place one Aeon Counter on it for every "Aeon" monster in the Graveyard. Aeon Sorceress DARK - Level 8 - Spellcaster/Synchro/Effect - 2500/2000 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner "Aeon" monsters Increase this monster's ATK and DEF by 400 for every "Aeon" monster in the Graveyard. Purified Infinite-Eyes Aeon Dragon DARK - Level 8 - Dragon/Synchro/Effect - 3300/2700 1 Tuner + "Infinite-Eyes Aeon Dragon" If this monster destroys your opponent's monster by battle, negate its effect(s), if any, banish it, and place 1 Aeon Counter on "Temple of Endless Aeons". If "Temple of Endless Aeons" has 5 or more Aeon Counters on it, Battle Damage your opponent takes from battles involving this monster and a monster they control is doubled. If "Temple of Endless Aeons" has 10 or more Aeon Counters on it when this monster battles, you can banish one card in your opponent's hand at random.
Aeon Maiden LIGHT - Rank 3 - Spellcaster/Xyz/Effect - 700/2100 3 Level 3 monsters While an "Aeon" monster is attached to this card as Xyz Material, your opponent must banish the top 2 cards of their Deck, face-up, to declare an attack. Once per turn, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card: If you control "Temple of Endless Aeons", you can Special Summon 1 monster from either Banished Zone, ignoring Summoning conditions (except "Vessault, Master of the Aeons"), if not, you can Special Summon 1 "Aeon" monster from your Banished Zone, except "Vessault, Master of the Aeons". If this monster is banished while you control "Temple of Endless Aeons", you can Special Summon this monster from your Banished Zone as a Level 6 monster OR a Level 8 monster (you can only activate this effect of "Aeon Maiden" once per turn). Vessault, Master of the Aeons DARK - Rank 8 - Spellcaster/Xyz/Effect - ?/? 3 Level 8 "Aeon" monsters This monster must be Xyz Summoned using the above Xyz Materials, and cannot be Summoned by other ways. If there is another "Aeon" monster on your side of the field, this monster cannot be targeted by your opponent's card effects. This monster's original ATK and DEF is always equal to your current Life Points (This effect cannot be negated). Once per turn, you can detach one Xyz Material from this card to have your opponent show you their hand- select one card and banish it. If the card you selected was a monster, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the banished monster's ATK. Once per Duel, you can remove 15 Aeon Counters from "Temple of Endless Aeons" to allow this monster to attack your opponent's Life Points directly. Sacred Call of the Aeons Normal Spell Banish 1 "Aeon" monster from your hand: Draw 1 card; also, if you control "Temple of Endless Aeons", you can draw 1 additional card. If this card is banished: You can add 1 "Aeon" monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only activate 1 effect of "Sacred Call of the Aeons" per turn, and only once that turn. Call of Vessault Normal Spell Banish one card from your Graveyard to Special Summon one "Aeon" monster from your hand or Deck. You can only activate 1 "Call of Vessault" per turn. Hatred of Vessault Quick-Play Spell This card's effect can be treated as one of the following depending on the number of Aeon Counters on "Temple of Endless Aeons": ●0+: Target 1 face-up Spell/Trap Card your opponent controls; destroy that target. ●2+: Target 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field; destroy that target. ●4+: Target 1 card on the field; banish that target. ●6+: Target 1 card on the field or in either player's Graveyard: Banish that target. Cards and effects cannot be activated in response to this effect. Sacrifice of the Aeons Quick-Play Spell If 2 or more "Aeon Guardian" that were Normal Summoned or Set are in your Graveyard: Banish as of "Aeon Guardian" from your Graveyard as possible. All cards in your opponent's hand and Graveyard are banished. Aeon Progression Continuous Spell When this card is activated, you can activate 1 "Temple of Endless Aeons" from your Deck or Graveyard. During each Standby Phase, place 1 Aeon Counter on all face-up "Aeon" cards you control. If an "Aeon" card you control would be destroyed, you can remove 1 Aeon Counter from anywhere on the field instead. You can Normal Summon/Set an additional Aeon monster from your hand in addition to your Normal Summon/Set (without Tributing) by removing a number of Aeon Counters from cards you control equal to that monster's Level. Aeon Diffusion Continuous Trap If 1 or more Aeon Counters would be placed on an "Aeon" card you control, except "Aeon Diffusion", place the same number of Aeon Counters on this card. If you would remove Aeon Counters from another "Aeon" card you control, you can remove Aeon Counters from this card instead. Once per turn, you can select and activate 1 of the following effects: ●Place 1 Aeon Counter on a face-up "Aeon" card you control. ●Remove 3 Aeon Counters from cards you control: Special Summon 1 "Aeon" monster from your hand or Graveyard. ●Remove 4 Aeon Counters from cards you control: Add 1 "Aeon" card from your Deck or Banished Zone to your hand. Punishment from Vessault Counter Trap This card's effect is only activated if it is destroyed. This card's effect can be activated the same turn it is Set. Select and activates one of the following effects: ●Banish all cards in your opponent's hand. ●Place 1 Aeon Counter on "Temple of Endless Aeons" for every card in your Banished Zone. ●Inflict 200 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points for every card in their hand and on their side of the field. ---------- I said you could earn Points. If you design an Aeon Deck (explaining your reasons for how many of which cards you select), you may earn 25 points! Rules regarding this: Only enter once. Your Deck must contain most of the "Aeon" cards, and you must explain your reasoning regarding how many copies of each card (including why you left out the cards you did). Standard Deck-building rules, like only 15 Extra Deck cards, and 40-60 cards in your Deck proper. You may include any cards currently available in stores- I'm a little behind the times, so if I ask about a specific card, please bear with me.
Vessault, the Master of the Aeons, was the guardian of the Aeon Stream- a physical manifestation of time, where merely touching it could have drastic effects on the past and future of the person interacting with it. Many people and creatures entered the Temple that was Vessault's home, asking to change their past or set their future with a touch. Vessault agreed, provided that they agree to live in the temple for the rest of their lives. It became clear, over the centuries, that aging did not occur within the Temple's walls, and the various hangers-on inside the Temple became like family. Sadly, the Temple was invaded by a force beyond even Vessault's comprehension, and while the group in the Aeon Temple repelled the attack, the Samurai, the Amazon, and the Dragon had died during the fight. The Magicians decided to allow the memories of the Samurai and the Amazon to live on, by absorbing what remained of their soul and strength. The dual Paladins fought ever harder to ensure that no further harm ever befell their friends in the ruins of the Temple. However, Vessault could not abide by his friends being this way, and used the Aeon Stream to return to the months before the invasion, to be better prepared. The second time, the battle was nearly effortless, and the Aeons lived in a state of joy. Eventually, however, this joy softened- time had ravaged the land, leaving little of use. The Magicians quickly changed how they used their magic, in an effort to undo the damages of time. Meanwhile, the Dragon had grown large enough to use the powerful magic the Magicians had employed. 0DST
So, just before I get into the review of the set and shiz, I just want to say I love the idea. There aren't enough archetypes that use a specific Field Spell, and even less that use counters with said Field Spell. So, automatically, I like this set a lot. Here is my issue, though. And it is a big one: The whole point of the set is to place as many Aeon Counters on the Field Spell as possible, and use D.D. Tactics to get rid of opponent monsters to stop them hitting the graveyard, and power your stuff up as well as make the field spell carry on existing. However, the only things that can use the Aeon Counters are the Field Spell and the Extra Deck, and even then the effects are very limited. The Field Spell can only use one per turn, the 2 Fusion Monsters have the same effects (just one can support the other, and I don't understand why only one has this kind of effect) as the Field Spell, the Syncros are only buffed when the Temple has counters on it, and Vessault straight up just ignores it, except when he's screwing it so he can attack directly. Personally, I would like the spell to act kind of like a Planeswalker from MTG, where you remove a certain amount of counters from it to do different things. For example, removing one counter banishes a random monster your Opponent controls, removing 5 banishes the top X cards of his/her deck etc. Also, instead of having it die when there are no banished monsters (Which, in a deck like this, is almost impossible to not have unless they have a card which prevents this specifically) have it come in with around 3 counters, and have it destroyed when it has none left. Also, you could have your creatures not only buffing up the card by giving it counters, but have them remove a certain number of counters in order to activate an effect they possess. The Extra Deck can remain the same, but maybe try to fix Vessault. I don't know how you would do it, but it needs to be done, because his effect is slightly broken and almost out of place in this deck. Another thing is you are using old OCG. Personally, I prefer it, but most generally use the new OCG now. But for me, this isn't a problem I have, just almost everyone else. Overall, I like the concept, but the execution needs a little work. But, I would happily use these cards anyway. I would take up the challenge, but I'm going to let someone else take that up. Darj
Challenge accepted:
Monsters: 14 x3 Aeon Magician Girl x3 Aeon Martyr x3 Aeon Magician x3 Madolche Magileine x2 Summoner Monk Spells: 13 x3 Temple of Endless Aeons x3 Call of Vassault x2 Terraforming x2 MST x2 Soul Charge x1 Book of Moon Traps: 13 x3 Dark Renewal x2 Dimensional Prison x2 Fiendish Chain x2 Reinforce Truth x1 BTH x1 Torrential x1 Compulsory x1 Warning Extra Deck: 15 x1 Armades x1 Black Rose Dragon x1 Moonlight Rose Dragon x1 Abyss Dweller x1 Castel x1 Ptolemy x1 Emeral x1 Exciton x1 Lavalval Chain x1 Norito x1 S.H.Ark x1 Blackship x1 Rhapsody in Berserk x1 Heartlandraco x1 Strike Bounzer
Reasoning: As soon as I read Aeon Temple I realized it was the win condition of the deck: Sustain it with at least 1 Aeon Counter per turn, and you get to banish 1 card from your opponent's field or grave every turn. For that reason, I added a couple of Terraformings to increase the chances of getting the Field early game. Then, I needed Aeons that could place those Counters as soon as possible, and from all the Aeons available, the Magicians and Martyr are the most effective at it. Magician may be a level 6 and thus require 1 Tribute to be Normal Summoned, but that's not a really big issue because of "Call of Vessault", plus a card that exists in the OCG: Dark Renewal. Since Dark Renewal requires a Spellcaster to work, I decided to add Magileines as an engine that could make it live as soon as I drew it. Summoner Monk is also an Spellcaster for Dark Renewal, it can search of Aeon Magician Girl, plus can make use of dead Aeon Temples, Terraformings or Vessaults. Finally, I included 2 Reinforce Truth to search for Martyr during the opponent's End Phase, and get counters during my following turn. The rest of the cards are pretty much staples. I was not interested in the rest of the Aeons because they are either impractical or not as fast at placing Aeon Counters as the magicians and Martyr, and I didn't want to run more Level 5+ that could end up as dead draws. However, there are a couple of Aeons that could be used in other deck variants: Sorceress looks like it is good at stalling, and Succubus can also generate Aeon Tokens and gets support from Tour Guide. By the way, Vessault is ridiculous. It is pretty much a win condition by itself, which is not healthy for the game, and while getting 3 Level 8 Aeons on the field may seem difficult to accomplish, there are cards that modify Levels and can make that task much easier, such as "Galaxy Queen's Light", which is searchable by "Galaxy Wizard" , and the archetype could generate into, Summon 1 Level 8 Aeon and 2 other Aeons, use Queen's Light, win". Draconus297
First thing everyone needs to notice is that Vessault is Skill Drain bait- yes, his effects are powerful, but if you bring him out without hurting your opponent first, he's 0/0. In the event that you activate his big effect too early, you leave your opponent on their feet and you just got rid of your Field Spell. Under Skill Drain, however . . . 8000/8000 monster. Regarding the assertion that Paladin and Paladin Girl have the same effect, note that Paladin banishes and negates effects of cards on the field, and Paladin Girl takes things out of the Graveyard- each one has their own uses (Paladin Girl ruins Dark World decks, for example.) In addition, Paladin Girl takes the concept of the Paladin and Paladin Girl being side-by-side allies. I'm surprised that you didn't include Priestess, actually- she's a pretty good anchor for the deck, acting like Magician's Valkyria that protects herself. With Magician, you could get 8 Aeon Counters on Temple, and if Magician Girl is already in the Graveyard you could Soul Release her and the Magician, Special Summon them both, and banish one card from your opponent's side of the field- all in one turn! Lastly, the exclusion of Punishment baffles me. Given how most of the metagame nukes the backfield indiscriminately, it's a sadistic choice put upon your opponent- banish their hand, take damage, or feed Temple with Aeon Counters. Your Deck doesn't conform to the rules- there are 20 Aeon cards, and you only used 5.
Darj
Vessault is still a bad card for the game and not well designed: Its is basically a win-more card that can finish the game if the opponent has 4000 or less LP. By the way, you can also Summon it easily by Ranking Up Magician Gal with RUM - Astral Force, and Magician Gal can be dropped with Aeon Magician + Magician Girl. Punishment is not that good actually: 1. It requires to be destroyed by other card, so either you wait for your opponent to destroy it, or destroy it yourself. Either way, the card is slow. 2. Smart opponents will choose to take damage for an average of 500 damage since you will rarely hold more than 7 cards in hand, so the other more powerful options are pointless. Priestess is good, I give you that. I guess the Magileines could be replaced with that card. As for the deck rules, if you are requesting to run the rest of the Aeons that don't synergize or add little to the deck, I couldn't care less. And to be fair, I used 3 of each, so that's actually 15 cards in the main deck, a bit less than half the standard. I could add +3 Priestess and a couple of Synchro Sorcerers for 20 Aeon cards. Anyways, I made the deck just for fun but to be honest some of the cards are unfair: - Aeon Temple: Banishing 1 of your opponent's card every turn doesn't seem fair. Granted, it requires the deck to be dedicated to it and without it Aeons would be an average archetype so that may be enough to balance it, but I'm not entirely sure. - Aeon Magician: It can negate multiple cards in a turn and further punish the opponent by banishing those cards. So, really, once you set up 3+ Aeons on the field you will be able to pretty much block the opponent from doing anything, except for Normal Summoning and attacking the weaker Aeons. - Aeon Sorcerer: It virtually cannot be targeted, and with 3000+ ATK you opponent will have to resort to cards like Dark Hole, Torrential, Exciton, etc. just to remove it. - Call of Vassault: The effect may be simple, but is dangerous. You can Summon Aeon Dragon for a quick beater, or splash it as an engine along any Aeon of your choice in any deck for your Xyz/Synchro summoning needs. You could give it at least a hard OPT: You can only activate 1 "Call of Vassault" once per turn.
