malice936 Posted August 1, 2014 Report Share Posted August 1, 2014 Here recently I've been watching all of the yugioh series, and noticed that dispite a lot of cards from the anime being made into real cards there are several that have a real place in the game being left behind. So with that I've managed to recreate the cards featured in the Duelist Kingdom arc, over a fairly long process, and created a card for nostalgias sake. I plan on going through each series and doing this for as many cards as possible (and maybe moving on to the mangas?) Also note that you CANNOT just copy/paste the effects on cards; you need to adapt them on your own. 1. I understand it's supposed to emulate Duelist Kingdom days, but unless you Soul Charge yourself (pay costs) or take a lot of damage to get it to that amount, it's extremely situational. Considering it's exactly 2000 LP that you need, that's easier said than done. 2. Yeah, just no. Considering we have stuff like Dark Armed Dragon, Grapha and some other stuff running around, effectively making them 8000+ ATK with one card is ridiculous; even if it is anime. Edit it to affect monsters with less than 1000 ATK or something AND have it expire during the End Phase. 3. Screws with Ghostricks, Vampires and some other things; that's about it. Aside from that, it's just a slower version of stuff like Exile of Wicked, Breath of Light, Eradicating Aerosol and so on. No one even plays those. 4/5. Not elaborated on, because same card. 6. Already exists as Mystical Moon. 7. You could've done A LOT better than simply remaking this card, because as it is, wouldn't see play. Most Level 4 monsters have much higher stats than this AND also have some form of effect that will help you out. This is just an old Level 5 Vanilla that gets run over by Sparkman or some other obscure Level 4 Vanillas no one plays anymore. 8. Gimmicky opponent-only version of Final Attack Orders. 9. Situational equip card for Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon (and rest of family), Red Dragon Archfiend/evolutions, Blackfeather Dragon/counterpart and some other things. 10. You pretty much didn't put any thought into this, aside from making this into a card. Remember that Konami does not create cards that aren't divisible by 10 [would say 50, but Utopia ONE and some old cards by PaniK disprove it]. 11. Vanilla monster, but a decent beater for a Deck revolving around Normal Monsters. I'd like to note that Vanilla monsters don't offer much to the game itself, so it's suggested you don't make Normals. (Again, you just took the pic, slapped its stats on it and that's it) 12. Vanilla monster (though since his stats were never shown in anime/manga, I can't really say much about creativity). At least you gave it some stats, so guess that means something. 13. Being able to return a Level 4 or lower monster to the hand; then summon a Level 7+ monster from the hand like that? Just no, especially when we have Xyz spam. (It does help in protecting smaller monsters from attack or something, but that's about its only use that doesn't come off as pushing it in this day/age) 14. Very gimmicky at best. Unless your opponent is running Kaiba.dek, won't really do much. No one runs Mammoth Graveyard. 15. See note on #2. Add an ATK restriction on it; preferably on those 1000 ATK or less. 16. Pretty much a lucksack card that, if done properly, nets you Xyz/Synchro food or does nothing and bounces itself to the Deck for another shot. 17. Slightly better Metamorph, but is extremely situational. Outside of Prophecies/Spellbooks or some other stuff that's still relevant, the rest of the effect is pretty much moot. Maybe it'll work against Shaddolls as a weird tech, but why would you use it over more reliable options? 18. Blocks a fair amount of cards in the game right now, so it's worth something. 19. Not elaborated on because same card. 20. If I wanted to nuke all the monsters on the field, I'd just use Dark Hole. There is no reason to run this over Dark Hole; ever. At least Final Destiny can kill Spell/Trap Cards as well; this cannot. Granted, this one would probably not hit the list like Hole does (given this requires a full discard, whereas Hole doesn't). The point of RC is to design cards that can be usable, BUT balanced. For the most part (and I'm reiterating this again), you essentially copy/pasted effects onto most, if not all cards in this set. It's fine if you choose to remake anime/manga cars, but you must design your own effect for it; not use whatever effect the anime/manga gives, because their mechanics do not always translate into the real game; especially in this era.
