Thanks man. Well im not down to drop hundreds on photoshop, so ill try out gimp. For some reason, i have no idea how to download some stuff on here and it needs to be zipped or something, so hopefully thatll work.

By image editing program you would refer to gimp/photoshop?

And in the thread there is a gimp format i can use?

What do i have to do for adjusting the text layers and such (sparkle, bevel. idk what those are)?

Again, Thank you!

As mentioned, GIMP is free so you can just download it and start working on template stuff. As a note, some stuff is either in a ZIP folder or as a raw .psd or .xcf file.

1. Yes, that's what it means when "image editing program" comes up. Paint can't open them, so we're not including it here.

2. Most Pendulum threads don't have .xcf versions; Zextra's one does because he asked me to do it.

3. There should be some options in GIMP that'll tell you how to bevel or something like it. You don't have to bevel the name/add GFX effects if you don't want to do it. Just putting the bare minimum is fine.

For adjusting text layers, just choose the correct font (and/or the closest substitute for it) and resize it in the textbox. You can recolor the name to represent different rarities if you wish. As for holo sheets for the pic, you can just add it as a new layer to the picture. Keep in mind that the current holo sheets [if you find any] are for regular cards only; you'll have to adjust the size of them to fit over the Pendulum frame (use Shift + T to adjust the size).

And no problem; that's why this section exists.

All you need to do is just open the file in GIMP, and it'll come up.

Click on the text layers to edit the layer for name / type / effect / stats / P-scales, whatever.

To activate/deactivate a layer, hit the icon on the left of its name.

---

Although you would've probably been better off asking me this in PM, since it's been over a year since you asked this.

1. See Tutorial section inside the Graphics Showcase.

2. Yes, you have to download templates. You also need GIMP or Photoshop; the former is free [go to their site and download it]. Only things that'll need to be fixed is text files to some extent if you're opening a PSD file on GIMP (though some templates do have a .xcf [GIMP] version for those of you who use it.

3. For variants, you mean like Pendulum Fusion, Synchro or whatever. Some of the said templates have them; in the real game, only Vanilla/Effect Pendulums exist.

.psd is the document format that stuff made on Photoshop will use. A lot of members here use Photoshop so their templates will be in this format. (Zextra's one, which is what the cardmaker is currently using is a .psd, but there is a .xcf [GIMP] version that I did for him)

GIMP/Photoshop should be able to work on a Mac; I know for certain that the latter does.

I meant to say text layers, but essentially those layers and if any layering effects were done on Photoshop and they are opened in GIMP, you will have to redo them on your own. If you already use Photoshop, you can just plug everything in that you want (just make sure you get the necessary fonts).

In a nutshell, you basically have to go to the thread containing the template, download it from Mediafire or wherever else they are hosting it, open the file in whatever image editing program you have and if you opened a PSD file in GIMP, adjust the text layers and/or effects (sparkle, bevel, etc) accordingly. Everything else pretty much is autopilot; just choose the Attribute of the monsters you want, type the effect in manually, set the scales/stats to whatever you need them to be, name and so on.

There is a thread in the same section where you can download the necessary fonts to make the card look realistic/close to the examples. You'll need the Matrix family of fonts for most of the card (name, types/subtypes, ATK/DEF, effect, Pendulum Scale); though there is one or two. More specifically, you need the caps one for the first three and scales; the regular Matrix for effect writing.

There's another one used for writing Vanilla text, Stone Serif; that one should be available over there in the thread.
