2 Level 4 "Qliphoth" Monsters

Once per turn you can detach 1 XYZ from this card to select 1 "Qliphoth" Monster from your deck and place it on top of your deck. While this card is in your graveyard; you can banish this card to tribute summon a "Qlipoth" Monster without any tribute(s)

 

 

I really struggled with the last part of the OCG on this one. The intended effect was that you could banish this card from the graveyard and tribute summon a quliphoth monster without using any tributes.

 

I am also concerned that my card designs seem to be getting worse. The last few cards I have made seem to be stale and unuseful. Perhaps this is just a learning curve?

 

Anyway C&C would be great and OCG fixes would be brilliant!

The first effect is kinda nice. Everything that can search "Tool" is helpful.

 

But I'm not sure when you would want to Tribute Summon "Qliphoth" monsters without tributes. Disk and Shell activate their effects only when they're Summoned by tributing another "Qliphoth" monster, and Genome and Archive activate when tributed. This effect would only helpful if you didn't have a Pendulum Scale and only 1 monster in your hand left.

If it's just an OCG fix - that would be easy, but considering what Squall said, and if you really want the card to be consistent with the archetype and work well with it, here's a suggestion (as always): 

 

"Once per turn: you  detach 1 Xyz Material from this card and excavate 1 "Qliphoth" monster in your Deck; place that monster on top of your Deck." 

 

for the rest you can just copy the summon+banish effect from "Quillbolt"/"Bulb"/"Spore" 

 

OR try with something like this: 

 

"While in the Graveyard: you can banish this card; during this turn you can Normal Summon 1 "Qliphoth" monster from your hand without tributing. That Summon is treated as Tribute Summon, using this card as tribute."
