When a Spellcaster-Type Normal Monster declares an attack: You can target 1 card your opponent controls; banish that target. You can only use this effect of "Dark Magician of Illusions" once per turn.

I dont think this will be its final name. Considering it is blatant Dark Magician support, I doubt Konami would want to ruin that connection

Unless its due to the Eye of Timaeus card because maybe Dark Magician of Illusions isn't a Dark Magician monster? I don't know

It wouldn't matter even if it was, because this card doesn't have a Fusion monster with its name as one of the Materials.

You know, the issue with this card is that you typically want to play Dark Magician off of it, on the off chance you can make another Ebon.
'Cept the issue that I'm talking about, is the fact DM is dead outside of being on the board, while this card is in play.

So it's sort of a weird trade-off.

Oh... it's this card.

For a moment I thought Pikeru and Curran were getting new history-linking filler cards and was curious (because Ebon Magician Curran is the only other card I can recall right now that has "Ebon" in the name).

Well, still, I suppose this card is ok. It's effect when attacking is beautiful. The other effect is obviously gonna go for Dark Magician. At least until we get an incentive to run Cosmo Queen for Rank 8s someday, or get a Pendulum and/or Tuner Normal Monster that is Spellcaster-Type.

 

It's Rank-up effect is also very blatant. We don't have many Rank 6 Spellcasters other than Magi Magi. I guess it'd be interesting to go "DNA" in a Rank 6 deck just to bring it out. There is that Disciplinary something card iirc. I should look for it since to be honest I don't remember what it's effect was....
