Pokemon Mega Evolution Hopes - (Free Reps!)

-Dom-

Recommended Posts

Couldn't find any images that approached the concepts I had in mind, so I hope the following descriptions can do it:
The white petals that form its “hair” are dyed black, while, in contrast, its mask becomes pale as snow, covering its vivid red eyes with seemingly opaque lenses. Its cape becomes purple dusk and grows substantially in length; M!Roserade usually covers itself with it when not in battle. An exuberant pink fresh rose blooms on the highest section of its thorax, keeping the cape tied. The buds on its hands bloom into small pretty red and blue roses. From its right hand, a single long and dangerously pointy rose thorn grows, which it uses as a lance. Its left hand expands and takes the shape of a mighty shield, with beautiful flowery motifs (which also appear on the “vamplate” of its right hand lance) engraved on it - most notably a big rose on its center.

Its body now is revested with a high-tech armor. Its arms now have two potent mega-bazookas attached to them instead of becoming guns themselves. Over each shoulder, a large flamethrower which it uses to incinerate its foes at the drop of a hat. Its beak becomes pointier, while its tail grows longer, with its tip now resembling a blowtorch. The upper portion of its cranium now is split from the lower by a ring, from where comes a scorching golden blaze that adorns its head like a crown. Its feet now contain holes on their soles from where it expels flames that allow it to fly at low heights together with the tail. It becomes a Fire/Steel Pokémon, switching its ability to Mega Launcher (with moves like Aura Sphere, Dragon Pulse and Dark Pulse being added to its movepool in order to make better use of it) while receiving significant boosts to its S.Atk, S.Def and Spd.
I also planned on a Mega Electivire, which would take a more rustic martial artist look in order to contrast with M-Mag, becoming Electric/Fighting with the ability Sheer Force in the process, but I still haven't finished to elaborate his design.

Some other Mega Evo concepts:
Becomes a bipedal, minotaur-like version of his base form, with toned legs, arms and thorax. His forelimbs’ hooves take a shape akin to Miltank’s, to make them more hand-like in appearance. The lower portion of his body is now covered in a thick layer of fur, and his three tails now merge into a single one that then splits in three near its tip, which he uses as a whip. He now wears a nose ring and his horns become a curvier version of Mega Houndoom’s. His type becomes Normal/Fighting - now learning Superpower via level up and Move Tutor - and his ability, Guts. His Atk is sharply increased, while his Def and S.Def receive slight boosts as well.

Takes a Southern Belle-like look upon Mega Evolving: now Miltank wears a white frilly, ornated cape collar around her neck, tied with a black bow and cowbell, as well as a wide bonnet. Her mammary glands, once spread over her belly, now assemble into a single, prominent, light pink udder, much like real cows. The black sphere on the tip of her tail takes the shape of a classical bell, whose soothing sound is believed to be able to calm down even the most ferocious of the Tyranitar. Lots of bloches appear over her body, including one over each eyelid, which, a long with longer eyelashes, make her look like she’s wearing make-up. It’s said that the milk produced by Mega Miltank can cure AND give immunity to both people and Pokémon against numerous diseases for long periods, while also restoring their stamina, easing their mood and, of course, satisfying their hunger for up to an entire week! She becomes Normal/Fairy - she now can be taught Play Rough by leveling up -, with her ability changing into Natural Cure and her defensive stats, as well as her physical Atk, being raised significantly.

It grows an extra pair of legs, which become longer and thinner like its pre-evolution’s; it can now skate along water bodies surfaces for a much longer time and much faster than as a Surskit, while also being able to fly at high speeds with 2 pairs of wings (the upper one acting as the “eyebrows” of the monster it tries to pass itself off as to scare predators) should the need arise. It uses its antenna’s upgraded sensorial abilities to vastly improve its reflexes. Its type also turns back into that of its unevolved form, Bug/Water, receiving substantial boosts in S.Atk, S.Def and Spd, with a minor one in Def. Its ability becomes Speed Boost.
On another note, what would you think about a Mega Zoroark with Imposter?

Would rather it just stick with illusion and get a major offensive ability with a mega evolution to make the swing with the trick play deadly as f***

I feel Illusion would lose all its effectiveness with a Mega Evolution - unless the last mon in your line-up has a Mega itself, and Zoroark could copy that form upon transforming, your disguise would necessarily wear off once you evolved.

My idea with Imposter was giving it an unique niché, in that it'd start off in its base form, performing its usual role, until your opponent switch into their best mon, and you would take the opportunity to go into Mega, copying it, kill the original and then proceed to give your adversary a taste of their own medicine. Mega Evolution not overriding priority could help in the case of a slower mon, ans the fact you'd be able to attack in the same turn you evolved is simply awesome. And in case you aren't able to copy the foe, you could still strike it down with Zoroark's improved stats. I don't know if that would be too gimmicky, but it'd definitely be lots of fun.

On another note, does anyone think some mon will get more than one Megas like in XY? I'm inclined to believe Rayquaza may receive two new Primal Formes based on some rumors circulating in the web, but, aside from that, I can't really think of any mon that could gain both an Omega and an Alpha Evolution.
67qAlxY.png

Art: Dragonith

Mega Wailord

Water

Ability: Regenerator

Base Stats:

HP: 170

ATK: 90

DEF: 100 (+55)

Sp.ATK: 90

Sp.DEF: 120 (+75)

SPE: 60

Total: 630 (+130)

Wailmer (and thus Wailord) is one of my favorite Pokemon from Gen III (which was the first Pokemon game I owned), so of course I think it deserves some love.

This Mega Evolution is for patching Wailord's awful defensive stats and taking advantage of its outstanding base HP. With Regenerator as its Mega Evolution ability, Wailord would not only become a more durable tank, but also would further abuse its high base HP.
Mega Wailord just seems needed, I'd be surprised if they didn't. As for other megas by people on deviantart that have really impressed me:

Nice idea, bro, but it seems you have exceeded the limit of 100 additional points to the BST that all Mega Evolutions follow. You could decrease its Speed by 30 in order to remedy that. Other than that, everything seems to be fine; Regenerator is an amazing ability indeed!
1c22102a36609e62ce6820e01548cdd9.jpg

HP: 160

ATK: 145 (+35)

DEF: 105 (+40)

SPATK: 55 (-10)

SPDEF: 145 (+35)

SPD: 30 (+0)

From this, I've boosted Snorlax's physical attack to hit harder at base 145. Won't get STAB on most of its used stuff, but it'll still hurt enough.

Because Fighting types are Snorlax's bane (and especially coupled with Psyshock and other moves that can hit Snorlax's lower defenses), I've taken the liberty of raising its physical defense quite a bit to base 105. Close Combats will still leave a mark on it, but won't end in an OHKO. Same goes for its Special Defense; not like it was already walling special threats to begin with. Special attack is slashed, because Snorlax really doesn't need it.

Ability would probably be Thick Fat or something; none of its other abilities are really worth it. Could give it Regenerator though, but that's throwing fuel on the fire, considering I boosted his defenses to survive more hits.

[I think this is going to be a worse version of Blissey to some extent; not as much HP but can tank like hell and dish out hits the same way]

mega_rayquaza_by_phatmon66-d7epsqi.png

Made by phatmon66 on dA.

HP: 105

ATK: 190 (+40)

DEF: 105 (+15)

SPATK: 165 (+15)

SPDEF: 105 (+15)

SPD: 110 (+15)

Ability and type remain the same.

Considering Rayquaza's commonly used sets are Physical, it makes sense that Rayquaza gets a power boost in its physical attack (which essentially makes this thing more monstrous than it's worth). That being said, some of its sets are mixed so a bit of special attack is added. Defenses and speed are boosted a bit, so it can survive hits and outrun stuff like Xerneas; given said legendary can outspeed and potentially OHKO with Moonblast or something (though it'll speed tie with the Eon twins and other base 110s at the most, except for its usage of Dragon Dance).

And also because Kyogre/Groudon already got Mega/Primal forms; maybe we'll get Mega Rayquaza in later leaks; idk
As mentioned earlier, Mega Milotic needs to be a thing. (Not because I want to name it after Zex)

Three from Gen V this time.
5c846d9f241c75c7337b72dde05bc64b94f34378

+20 Def +40 SpA +20 SpD +20 Spe

Ability is Drought.

Basically, remember the pokedex entry that said Volcarona could replace the sun?

Yeah, this is it.

(what's game balance, lol)

mega_auction_1___megahaxorus___closed_by

Atk + 35, Def + 50, Spe +15

Ability is now Tough Claws, type is Dragon/Steel.

Self explanatory, really.

DD, Mega Evolve, score a total party kill.

Really, rule of cool and all that.

mega_archeops_by_dragonith-d6kc8fv.png

+30 ATK, +20 Def, +20 SpA, +30 Spe

Rock/Dragon, Ability is Moxie.

Returning back into its primal form, Archeops is now a raptor.

Once again, what's balance?
Not really in the mood for in depth explanation, so yeah.

Most are pretty self-explanatory, really.

If Mega Archeops does come to life, it would help it a lot if it loses Defeatist upon Mega Evolving; though it'll get shafted to Ubers when released. Then again, Kyogre's enough to drown it (along with other stuff in OU). Then again, it's Earthquake bait now.

Mega Haxorus looks awesome, and definitely would appreciate some protection against Fairies; though most of their attacks hit his special defenses, but he can bulldoze them anyway.

Won't comment on Volcarona, but it is fitting; that much is certain.

I see. I had no idea of the +100 BST limit on Mega Evolutions. And I agree: decreasing its Speed looks like the best choice without affecting its defensive capabilities. It would also make sense since it is implied Mega Wailord would be much bulkier, and thus slower.

Is it okay to bump this thread, or should I start a new one? Anyway, feel free to close it if you judge it necessary, mods.

I came up with a new Mega idea here:
mega_zangoose_by_paprik_a-d6u5djz.png

mega_zangoose_maybe__by_pokegem-d7yl5ut.

Art Source 1: http://paprik-a.deviantart.com/

Art Source 2: http://pokegem.deviantart.com/

Typing: Normal/Poison or Normal/Steel

Ability: Tough Claws

It chose to spend the energy granted by Mega Evolution in enhancing its Poison resistance, to the point where Zangoose itself became poisonous / Zangoose's body turned into an impenetrable fortress. With its new improved venomous / steel-clad claws, it is ready to tear into pieces its eternal rival Seviper.

Stats:

HP: 73 (+0)

Atk: 145 (+30)

Def: 80 (+20)

Sp. Atk: 60 (+0)

Sp. Def: 80 (+20)

Spd: 120 (+30)
I just wish more people tried to keep their OC Megas true to the mon's flavor.

To expand on the comment about mega Flygon, I REALLY would like to see this.
mega_flygon_by_dragonith-d6ta488.png
I really like how it plays on the whole "dragonfly" imagery and altogether I think it's the coolest design of all the mega Flygons out there.

I still would like to see Mega Milotic/Flygon; considering in the former's case, Gyarados already got one.

If ever released, probably will use Gyara's stat spread, except spread to Milotic's one.

You know what I would love to see? A Mega Magnezone.
I mean, Magnezone is already some kind of UFO. So it turning into somewhat of a mothership would look really fuckin' cool.

That'll be neat though.

As for Abilities, Levitate might be nice on it; considering a lot of Pokes will want to pick on its 4x weakness to Ground. (And less reliance on Magnet Rise)

Though, Sturdy protects it from getting killed with STAB Overheats/Close Combat, whatever)

Earlier on, some of us wanted Mega Rayquaza; it's actually here.

----

Come to think of it, a lot of NU level Pokes could use a Mega so they don't suck as much, but that would take away from the point of it being exclusive to certain 'mons.

I'm personally really hoping for a mega of my favorite Pokemon:
mega_dunsparce_by_dragonith-d6ieig6.png

IDK exactly about stat increases, but Attack and both defenses and/or HP would be good, I think.

...So yeah, I want this and Infernape, but I assume we'll get the latter when the Gen 4 remakes come around.
HP doesn't increase when a Pokemon Megas, but everything else does.

If Pokemon Z (assuming this is what the sequel to Kalos will be) or whenever it comes out, probably will be an attack boost or something.

Anyway...
megalugia_by_light_linx-d6jnob5.png
Lugia's already fast at base 110 speed, so can probably retain it like that. (Otherwise, can boost it to 120 to tie with Arceus)

Stat spread

HP 106

ATK 100 (+10)

DEF 170 (+40)

SPATK 100 (+10)

SPDEF 194 (+40)

SPD 110

While not much of a offensive boost, considering base 90 to begin with isn't very good; base 100 allows it to have a respectable attacking power either way.

Real beauty is in its boosted defenses. Speed can stay though

Of course, becoming a Mega does mean loss of Leftovers recovery; which hurts a bit.

Ability should be the same (considering lack of insta-recovery in Leftovers; Pressure might be a good option here, as Multiscale will break if not full health, even with Roost)

That being said, it just becomes an even stronger wall.
