%phil
now idk if this is even possible to implement on this board but it'd be kinda convenient if there was some way to alert users to a thread (doing @user is the way smogon does it). i doubt people read every single thread and it's useful to be able to quickly alert users to important information they need to know. having said that i got the idea from smogon which has an awful lot more traffic and an awful lot more threads. basically if it's possible and if more experienced people think it'd be useful it'd be a decent idea. Cin
Don't see the point of it, people can search a members content and follow threads as is. Do not support.
Greiga
I've seen other forums use @user to ask users for opinions and to call mods and stuff (for things that didn't need reporting) and those were way shittier places than YCM but it still worked pretty well. It's better than PMing a member or using a status message to say "Yo dawg you should check this" Inb4 we're not like other forums. Support. Kazooie
Don't see the point of it, people can search a members content and follow threads as is. Do not support. That has nothing to do with this. This is about getting a user attentions by sending them a notification without them having to know they were mentioned ahead of time. I think it's a perfectly fine idea, the question is just if it can be implemented.
Rodrigo
Support. Looks like a very cool idea, but sounds hard to implement.
Aix
iirc you can quote someone in a different thread and copy and paste the quote thing (in BBCode Mode) and they'll be notified of it (if they have quote notifications on) and be directed to the thread you pasted the quote. %phil
iirc you can quote someone in a different thread and copy and paste the quote thing (in BBCode Mode) and they'll be notified of it (if they have quote notifications on) and be directed to the thread you pasted the quote. doesn't that require putting a quote into the thread which may or may not be relevant? simply tagging seems much easier.
