If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can add 1 "HERO" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Elemental HERO Shadow Mist". You can only use 1 "Elemental HERO Shadow Mist" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

 

Don't ya love how a card which was a vanilla in the manga can turn out to be good IRL? Discuss one of the better HERO's to have come out as of late.

Don't a lot of the manga HEROs end up being really good? Stratos had its effect completely changed, if I remember correctly.

 

I like how this card primarily supports Masked HEROs, but is also a searcher that isn't nearly as abusable as Stratos, due to the "once-per-turn" restriction for both of its effects.

But anyway, solid card is solid. done a nice job in filling stratos's hole, even if not perfect.

Prisma is easy way of pinging it, among many others. *stating the obvious... that I never really played Heroes much...*

How do you ping it with Prisma when Shadow Mist isn't specified on a single card?

 

Annoying at times, since detaching or Foolishing gives you the effect, but, I guess it's still preferred to a card with no OPT clause. Also, Krystia was an earlier example of a vanilla becoming awesome.

Stratos was a vanilla, then randomly had an effect that let you halve it's ATK to let it attack directly that turn.

It defecates all over Lightsworn, so I'm happy for that.

But you gotta' admit... Instant Dark Laws are just oh-so perfect.

 

A lot of the GX manga cards had no effects or weird effects and usually summoning conditions but were remade to be more useful, Ocean was able to attack directly if Umi was on the field, Dragon Warrior had to be special summoned with Dragon Ritual Unit, and Winged Kuriboh LV9 had a completely different effect and way to summon. And Elemental HERO Inferno was the only nerfed E-hero, I guess to make up for his materials getting effects?

Of course inferno was nerfed. adding back a spell when nuked is pretty broken. at least MoF is slow and can be legit stopped by a lot of stuff.
