That's okay wallet, I've been meaning to put money in my NNID anyways.

That comparison... hmmm... I don't even Super Monkey Ball, but this does look more manageable... so maaaaaaybe.

You should try the first two Super Monkey Ball games.  They were developed by Sega's best subsidiary that is now dead today.  RIP Amusement Vision...

I only remember ever trying any of them on Gamecube, now that you mention it, but it couldn't hurt to try it again, if given the opportunity.

Dat plot of the game is how you do an excuse plot.
Armillo isn't the Main Protagonist.  That goes to Bolobol, his brother.  Unlike Armillo, Bolobol resisted the Darkbot's Mind Control and only feigned possession so that he may infiltrate the Darkbot's home and ultimately stop whatever plan they have for universal domination.  In fact, after Bolobol was 'freed' from the Darkbot control, the player plays as him for the other part of the game where he has to save Armillo who, unfortunately, is possessed for real by the Darkbots.  Bolobol also defeats Armillo in a straight set of battles and frees him from Mind Control and goes back home.  When Armillo defeats the Final Boss, the boss uses a gigantic laser to destroy his home planet.  Then, Bolobol ended up reflecting said laser, which destroyed the Darkbot home planet instead and put their plans out of commission.

So yes, Bolobol is the real star of Armillo even though his brother is the titular main character.
Dayum that feels weird.
