[TORMEY] Storms

Tormented

I haven't posted in a while and I'm like not entirely sure where I was going with this.

Tell me what you like, tell me what you hate.

edit 1: I feel I should've personally played with the c4ds a bit more, they feel a bit plastered on and not blended well.

Rain falls like that / and like that | at the same time ?? :3
The lighting is quite bad, like the atmosphere. The colors are the worst thing (wth with this C4D ?).
Improve your work, Tormey, this is an absolutely crappy creation from you...

d00d pls, if I'm entirely honest the point of this was to get back into posting. I needed to push something out and just work on something to improve. I think personally I chose a shitty render and thus got stuck doing something that could've gone well but I just rushed doing it.

also im tired of you people saying "improve your work" "work on making things cleaner" you fuckers need to tell me how not what to do.

There is no precise method ... if you want to improve yourself, you practice as much as possible, and you'll learn things. But it is not enough, and that's why you need  to look at tutorials and .psd ...
In fact, nothing new, just simple and known things to apply.

So, Improve your work = more work to do

My biggest issue is this past year and half I've like noticed no improvements from myself and it's starting to piss me off, I guess I'll take a step back to when I first started and go back and re-watch some vid tuts, need to re-define the basics.

One rain layer out of the two needs to go. Suffers from 'floating render on a background' syndrome, but partially that's just the impracticality of the background being in the middle of the sea. Colour and lighting. Where's the red coming from? The lighthouse in the distance: use that. He should pretty much be almost entirely in shadow. With dramatic white lighting edging across his face and shield edges.

You probably could experiment with the green C4D, but I'd just get rid of it. It's mostly a superficial detail.
