Netflix original... anime?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htgcz87-Wqk

"The first Netflix original anime series, Knights of Sidonia, based on the popular manga series of the same name, follows Nagate, a low-born youth in a society of genetically engineered refugees who escaped the destruction of Earth one thousand years earlier and now occupy the massive ship Sidonia. When Nagate's talent as a pilot is revealed he becomes one of Sidonia's elite defenders against the Guana, shapeshifting aliens bent on eliminating humans from existence.

All 12 episodes of the epic KNIGHTS OF SIDONIA series will premiere July 4 in all territories Netflix is available."

So people are basically saying Pacific Rim x Gundam Wing

Uh... thoughts?

Er....no? It was airing this season? The last episode came out yesterday? What's this about netflix original? Bullshit.

It's pretty much Shingeki no Kyojin done right, with an atmosphere that strangely resembles slice of life moe while still having the gaunas feeling threatening and scary as hell. Fun stuff. If you're on the Izana ship like me, prepare to suffer.

As far as I know it's probably because it had no legal streaming when it aired on Japanese television.

Well the always lovely Ene pretty much already summed up my thoughts. If you need further elaboration you can look at Mitch's first post here and imagine me saying, "Ehhhhhh.....no...."

I watched this anime in school (I had a class that was essentially free time on the computer) but sorta stopped when we started focusing more on playing games and I didn't care too particularly much to deal with my computer's general low quality and buffering or something every five seconds for an anime that was decent at best. Maybe when it's on Netflix I'll check it out again.

I know this is a thing that Mako loves but as I've said this is sci-fi Attack on Titan so it's basically porn for him. Not sure why he likes the OP though. <----Paying it forward.

At the very least I like what Netflix is trying to do here.
