Shradow
The novel takes place in 2016 in Akihabara on the Steins;Gate timeline. After graduating college, Okabe industrializes the Future Gadget Laboratory, but in fact, Daru is the one earning all the income and Okabe earns a living accepting detective-like requests. One day, the building owner's daughter Nae asks Okabe to investigate her father, who she says is acting strange. However, Okabe remembers his experiences from the other timelines, and is worried. However, before he can think any further, he encounters Suzuha, a girl who should not exist on the Steins;Gate timeline.
Okabe Rintaro, age 24. After graduating college, he industrializes the Future Gadget Laboratory with Daru. However, most of his work is separate with that, helping people find lost their pets and helping out at the Akihabara shopping district. Hashida Itaru, age 24. A member of the Future Gadget Laboratory and Okabe's best friend. He is currently developing new smartphone apps and web security programs to earn income for the lab. He is currently dating Amane Yuki. Makise Kurisu, age 24. After graduating from the Victor Condoria graduate school, she became an associate member of the neuroscience research team their. Although she is Okabe's long-distance girlfriend, the two are very clumsy with their feelings, and there has been no progress in their relationship. Shiina Mayuri, age 22. She helps manage the finances of the Future Gadget Lab, and takes care of employee welfare (she makes dinner for Okabe), and although she watches over Okabe and Kurisu's long-distance relationship, she sometimes makes critical jabs about it. She currently works as a kindergarten teacher. Tennouji Nae. Age 17. Daughter of Tennouji Yuugo, owner of the Braun Tube Workshop beneath the Future Gadget Lab. Although she is known to be very friendly to everyone she meets, she is also known to go berserk at times. Therefore, her friends call her, "Flat-Out Princess." Amane Suzuha, age 18(?). A worker at the Braun Tube Workshop who loves bicycles. However, she is not supposed to exist on the Steins;Gate timeline... Kiryu Moeka, age 26. She works as a writer for the editorial company called “Arc Rewrite”, as well as part-time at the Braun Tube Workshop. She has poor social skills so the majority of her communication are done via her smartphone, but her part-time job at the Braun Tube Workshop and her frequent interactions with the lab members has helped her condition improve slightly. Faris Nyannyan, age 23. The most popular maid at the longstanding Maid Cafe known as “May Queen NyanNyan”, and a large land owner of Akihabara. She helped greatly with the commercialization of the Future Gadget Lab by mediating jobs for them. It’d be no exaggeration to say that she is Okabe and Daru’s greatest benefactor. Urushiba Ruka, age 22. The son of the Yanabayashi Shrine chief. You might think him to be a woman at first glance, but Ruka is a fully-fledged man. He attends university, but still works as the Shrine Miko, constantly drawing in visitors with his fair body.
This is a light novel, not a visual novel like Steins;Gate and its spin-offs. mitchermitcher
Too lazy to copy my reply from other places, so I'll summarize it to: Shit art, wtf, where's my usual huke artstyle, this is terrible. What the hell, doesn't Okabe deserve a rest already after all he's suffered, stop milking S;G you shits, you could've made R;N better, or make C;C come out more quickly, or make a new sci-fi ADV title. I liked Kurisu better with brown hair in the VN. With that said, short haired Kurisu's pretty moe. If only the artstyle wasn't so....painful to see...Also yay, part-time warrior is back. Shradow
I think the art style is really nice. I still prefer the old one, but in no way is this s***. I'll be pleased as long as its ending is as good as the movie's. I don't want them to f*** things up. But I'm hyped regardless, I love Steins;Gate. Wildflame
Yeah, the problem with S;G is that it's so good that the chances to fuck it all up with a sequel/spin-off are extremely high. Art is a bit weird, but I don't particulary dislike it.
Shradow
Well, there've been two spin-offs (that I'm aware of) that I don't think f***ed it all up, but then again they did take place within the timeframe of the story, just in alternate world lines, and one of them was comedic while the other was partially non-canon. Aix
I'm also not such a fan of the art. Is it written by the same person/people though?
Shradow
From what I understand, the author is different, but it's being overseen by the original author, and production planning is led by 5pb's executive director, who's been very involved in the entire Science Adventure series, S;G included. Sethera
The art looks okay to me. I've been wondering if I should read it or not. Would you call it a hit or miss?
