asterr259
We've all at some point been either a Dungeoneer/Adventurer. So besides the great and glorious Slimes and Goblins of the Grind, What are gaming cliches that you hate to see cause it's so overdone, or love to see cause it's so classic? asterr259
Enemies that are exactly the same except a different colour..... Yeah that's pretty lazy... The only exception I have for this is obvious element changes. Like Normal Wolves turning into Hellhounds with like burning tails and Smoking Breath and such. Not-so-Radiant Arin
"Hey, I'm an RPG Hero, so I get to go into your house without permission to steal your most treasured artifact: a golden necklace with a grand emerald in the middle, AND I get to kill your whole family. All because you didn't lock your door!" "I see, and that gives you a right to enter?" "YES IT FUCKING DOES!"

asterr259
I wanna open it.... Mimics or any kind of Trap Chest urk me to end. If I find a hidden chest and open it, I expect a Golden Sword, not a higher level monster or several rigged guns pointed at me.
asterr259
Mimics are fun. It's like "Oh, you thought you got a treasure? Surprise! Now you get to fight me!" Another cliche I love/hate is that the final dungeon, in one way or another, is almost always a castle. Hence why I rely on shops or weapon forging/enhancement. Lv. 86 Basic Sword with Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire Crystals 4days > Mimic Chests. No rpg is complete without the Floating Castle of Doom lol
Tentacruel
I feel like there's a terrible lack of generic rpg's these days.

Worse when said Treasure Chest is like 15-20 Levels higher then all the other monsters in the dungeon. (I am looking at you Rogue Galaxy....) Also speaking of Mimics. Shradow
I feel like there's a terrible lack of generic rpg's these days. Hopefully we'll get more of that in the future. I know Square Enix said they're going back to their roots with good ol' JRPGs after things like Hitman and Sleeping Dogs didn't do as well as they hoped, while Bravely Default did very well. Shradow
Also the villain being a Dark Overlord of DOOM. I also like it when the protagonist is, we need more of those.
J-Max
When you think the game is over then suddenly BAM! Evil Bad dude returns for a third Act! Monsters that carry all kinds of stuff (Wolves carrying say a Wolf Sword of Benevolence or a Wild Chocobo carrying a huge suit of Armor. Random Battles... I don't wanna fight you every 3 seconds! Philemon
Mysterious white-haired chick with mysterious past and mysterious powers. Your parents are unnamed, unimportant, dead for a tragic backstory, or just nonexistent. -Addendum: If you have a missing family member, they are alive and most likely evil You can sell anything, anywhere, but you'll never make a profit because everything sells for and buys for the same fixed prices. A good meal and a nights rest can heal missing limbs, critical injuries, and poison -Addendum: This does not apply if the above occurred in a cutscene.
