Make a maindeck support card for an archetype that hasn't had direct support in a while.

Card A:

hG4V6oS.jpg

During your Main Phase, you can target 1 monster with an A-Counter(s) on the field; Return it to the hand, and if you do: Special Summon this card (from your hand). You cannot Summon monsters, except Reptile-type monsters during the turn you activate this effect. When this card leaves the field, banish it.

Card B:

Cannot be targeted by card effects. During either player's turn: You can return 1 face-up "Mist Valley" monster you control to the hand; Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, this card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects until your opponent's next End Phase. When a card(s) is returned from the field to the hand or Deck: Draw 1 card, also this card gains 300 ATK. You can only use each effect of "Mist Valley Trooper" once per turn.

Scary pics. X_X

Card A:

Even without its restriction, this card is still bad. It's pretty hard/slow to make a-counters.

Card B:

Mist valley's main card is limited, this card still helps by its last effect though. And skipping opp's battle phase is not that bad.

Vote to Card B.

Card A

Someone's not getting the punctuation right, but since it's not creating severe interpretation problems, I'll let that slide. It's an okay card to utilize, being a Comp Evac on a body for Aliens, but something's a little lacking which would otherwise made it a good support card.

Card B

Instant speed Soul Swap ability? That's already the main reason you'd want to run this card. You can scrub off its last effect and it'll still be decent, effectively granting you a free monster to Synchro with. Returning cards from the hand to the Deck is relatively rare, limiting the opportunities for its last effect to trigger, but I can clearly see it working against certain effects like Tiaramisu, Sylvan Charity, or Plaguespreader's revive ability.

Vote goes to Card B because Card A doesn't contribute enough to the A-Counter shenanigans. Perhaps if it had its own way of generating A-Counters...

However much I love Aliens (really, +50 forthat), the card doesn't quite make it. I'd rather use Mass hypnosis as I get more out of it,

Card B on the other hand seems... well a bit much. iirc Wind Valleys are all about returning cards, so maybe a draw per turn goes over top. Then again appropriate Defender combo gives 3 per turn when done right.

Taking both in consideration, card B seems to have that little edge.

so, card B; official reason; fits better with archtype and would see more play.
