JustAnotherDuelist
Couldn't find a thread for it so why not? Used to play LoL until I found this. So, Discuss.
Maeriberii Haan
Never liked the colors used. Neat game though.
JustAnotherDuelist
I actually like the colors, looked a lot better than LoL. Also, the gameplay is a lot like ygo. In LoL, its relatively 50/50 (to an extent). In HoN, you either snowball them or get pwned. I prefer the second one. You feel more op when you play. Example: Imagine in LoL, you buy an item that increases your damage by 250, and you have an ability that lets you fire 24 or so rockets that do 7 + 28% of your damage? Yeah. Maeriberii Haan
Problem is, I play DOTA (and DOTA 2), so yeah.
Madsen
Nice, didn't know you played D2 Ain^ Now, regarding HoN, you should probably move on to Dota 2 if you like HoN. Here's why: All of today's MOBAs are based on DotA 1, which in itself was a Warcraft III custom map based on a custom map for Starcraft (Aeon of Strife). AoS is credited with being the basis for the genre, however it's widely accepted that DotA 1 popularized the genre. A lot of the developers and in general people who worked on DotA 1 went on to work on some other games, notably HoN and LoL, as DotA 1 had become outdated. League was a unique vision, completely remote from DotA, borrowing some basic layout and gameplay aspects but forming an entirely different game, even though they had some staff that had worked on DotA 1 with Icefrog and co. (Guinsoo anyone?) However, Heroes of Newerth was, and still is, mostly based on DotA, with most heroes being direct ports of DotA heroes - it was basically an attempt at modernizing DotA 1, fixing some of the supposed bad aspects and opening it up to a larger userbase - and the game did this extremely well. When Valve presented Dota 2 though, most if not all HoN pros moved on to Dota 2, because they could notice that Dota 2 was basically a better version of what they came to HoN for. As such, I recommend you move to Dota 2, since it has a much larger playerbase and the transition isn't very hard. Here's a handy list: http://dota2.gamepedia.com/HoN_hero_comparison BTW, Rapier does 300 extra damage in Dota 2 :)
