GIANT MECHA LINCOLN. NINTENDO YOU BEAUTIFUL THING, YOU. TAKE MY MONEY.

Really, though, awesome trailer. Great music choice, and I loved, "Executive decision!" Also, I don't know who the guy with the exploding penguins or the sniper lady are, but is the pumpkkn head guy Scarecrow?

it has to either be from a US tall tale or work of fiction

WAIT, I just realized we'll probs get Paul Bunyan. I hope he's a giant.

Am I the only person on YCM that has this game right now?  It feels like it.

I'm in the middle of the game right now, and I have to say I absolutely love what I am playing through right now.  The characters have so much diversity and charm, and they each function very differently from each other.  While there are some characters that are better than others, each character fulfills a specific niche very well.  My favorite character so far is Scarecrow, because he's a funny character and requires a large amount of mental thought to play effectively.

I was going to get it but then I realized that I never really wanted it and what it was criticized for in the really negative reviews basically sealed the deal.

Blackie I can tell you it's good feces!  [s]I was watching too much Boondocks[/s]

In seriousness, the only real flaws are that the Alien's Turns take forever and the difficulty can be unforgiving.  But, what the game does right it does it very well.  It's not a game for everyone, but it's definitely amazing for those that like what the game is about.

I did notice, playing the demo, that the turns take a looong time.

As for difficulty, could you give me some kind of basis on how hard it is? if you can equate it to Fire Emblem that'd be best. XD

It's Fire Emblem as a third person shooter.  The reinforcement mechanic in FE is also present in this game, but you don't get more than four characters in a mission.  The enemy AI is actually brilliant, and a huge majority of the game's enemies are either Goshdarned Bats (Nettlers and Lurkers come to mind) or are Demonic Spiders (freaking Prowlers and Hounds).

While I do like the lack of a map for immersion experiences, you can and will be ambushed by the enemy because you didn't check around a corner.  You know that Overwatch Mechanic you can use to attack during the Alien's Turn?  Yeah, certain units can also do that during your turn when you enter into their sights.  Overwatch attacks also have a chance to stun whoever they hit as well (which makes Hounds and Prowlers among the most evil enemies you'll encounter).

Buuuut, while I am making this sound more difficult than it should, this game definitely treats you like an intelligent person.  It gradually gives the player an assortment of tools and access to new strategies to use against the enemy, and it makes you feel good for when you pull off a successful strategy.  For example, setting up Tom Sawyer's minefield and getting a Prowler to run into multiple mines and causing it to die will make you feel happy.
