Nicο
Just so there's a thread for it. I gotta say... I still want more info, like if we can play other people's levels with this, and how much more we can customize... probably a decent amount, but I'm still sure we've only yet seen stuff that was in the old SMB (or mostly), I'd like some of the things that came after, cause I know you can go all NSMB in it. Agro
You'll definitely be able to share the levels you make. If you can't there's literally no point. This is a Wii U game right? I may have liked it on 3DS as well if they could connect and I could streetpass the levels to others. Anyway, I was interested in the concept, but when it jumped to New Super Mario design, I was pretty much hooked. This is gonna be so cool.

Yeah but I kinda just wanna know for sure. But I guess it's obvious. This is a Wii U game right? I may have liked it on 3DS as well if they could connect and I could streetpass the levels to others. Yeah. I too wish it could be on 3DS as well. Anyway, I was interested in the concept, but when it jumped to New Super Mario design, I was pretty much hooked. This is gonna be so cool. I felt that exact same way.

Tentacruel
They shouldn't be the 3DS has enough games and it would cannibalize the sales of the Wii U verison.
Thar
Well, that's a shame then, as I don't have a Wii-U.

Not if it's designed to work entirely in tandem to the Wii U version. And yes, this post's entire purpose is to give a medium to post this image:
Just Crouton
I can already imagine all the pointless whining from the 12-year olds over the massive number of poorly made levels, and all the pointless whining from the 12-year olds over the lack of "creativity" in response to the pointless whining from the 12-year olds over the massive number of poorly made levels. Since it's official, it probably won't have as much potential for customizability that the romhacking community is capable of doing.

It also will be more accessible than the romhacking community.
Fusion X. Denver
If my friends get this, then I'll get this. Playing each other's levels sounds fun to me, but not so much if I'm the only one screwing around with it.
Toffee.
Guys, you can make stages like this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpyLtgJTHbcIt's reinforced by the fact people will make Automatic Marios and otherwise Kaizo Mario-esque stages. Tentacruel
I wonder how much it'll cost. I'm hoping $30. Any more and people will riot.
Nicο
True enough. Neat thing, but I wouldn't really pay more. Or much. idk. We'll see.
Toffee.
Hey, here's a thought... Since they showcased it having the option to have either the original 8-Bit or the "New" mondern version, I'm curious on if they let you choose from other styles as well. Agro
It's a possibility. The mechanics, they said, were like the 8-bit either way.
J-Max
If they have all the Power Ups from all the games then I would definately consider it... But right now we have 'Reggie' for NSMB and 'Lunar Magic' for Mario World so hopefully this game will offer something more.

This may or may not confirm that: http://www.usgamer.net/articles/e3-2014-im-unreasonably-excited-about-mario-maker Or maybe I'm just dumb. For saying may or may not, I mean. Non-Mario styles would be interesting, for sure. If they have all the Power Ups from all the games then I would definately consider it... They're definitely not going to be offering more than those things, at least, but hell, it just seems more fun for me to create levels this way, and there are some things we're seeing for the first time in this. Airride
Something I want to point out,; There was a brief moment in the trailer where they showed swatting a fly on the creation screen. Just to draw more parallels to Mario paint.
Thar
Just an idea, but maybe, if enough people get the game, we can hold a contest for best level design.

The game's 2015. There's no doubt they're going to be adding a whole lot more than what's shown in that demo. I would say there's a chance we'll be seeing a whole lot more creative abilities out of this game by the time it's done. Power-ups included. Eneeneene. amiibo lets you put any nintendo characters into 2D Mario Maker, and then you'll play as that character... and then you'll be able to make levels for that character's game... and then... and then... and then... basically they'll have given us the creative tools to make the NES remixes... See, now I want this, but I'm betting that by "not Mario" he means something like Yoshi because it's in Mario's world. EDIT: whoops, double post. Nicο
I'm always going to be questioning stuff that was added in later games, what with the always 8-bit physics, until I'm shown that anything like that is included. I should realize that they are adding never before seen things, and that link that I posted showing that yes, there is going to be more than what was shown in the demo, so maybe I should be a little more optimistic about that stuff, as well. They could very well add some of that stuff, too. But well, I'm holding an incredible amount of judgement at bay, just waiting for things to be confirmed, even obvious things. Yeah, that would be beyond amazing. I doubt it, since yes, Yoshi design stuff is some of the more likely additions, but man.
