Tentacruel
So with all the hubbub about AAA games only being 30 fps, people are all arguing about framerate. What do you feel is acceptable? Is it okay for console games to run at 30 frames per second? Personally, I think 30 is playable in most cases. Obviously 60 is better, but 30, as long as it stays at 30, is perfectly playable in most cases. With a mouse and keyboard, especially in shooters, 30FPS is a lot less bearable for me. You can feel the lack of smoothness a lot more. Talk to me YCM.
J-Max
30FPS constant is fine in my opinion but it is very hard on the eyes when you have played a game like Call of Duty at 60FPS for a while. 60FPS is ideal for me though as it is silky smooth. A lot of people say they can't keep up with it... Bollocks to them lol.
Degritone
Considering my computer barely runs Minecraft at a consistent 25, I find 30 amazing. /poorperson
Agro
Film runs at 24 fps. Sometimes 30. So I just really don't care.
Makο
30 is fine, but if you can go higher without any real drawbacks, do it.
Tentacruel
30 is fine, but if you can go higher without any real drawbacks, do it. Oh, I almost always play at 60, because my PC can handle it with most games. I just cannot stand people who talk down to people who play on consoles and make a big deal out of it. It really rubs me the wrong way when people antagonize people over something like video games.
mitchermitcher
If it's a fighting game, it better sure as hell have 60. Visual novels, framerates ain't really a thing. RPGs, as long as it's reasonable it's cool. If it's not a fighting game or a visual novel or an RPG, I ain't playing regardless of frames.
宇佐見 蓮子@C94
I never noticed anything about framerates. Getting any game to run above 15 on my laptop is a huge achievement, so I guess I sorta tolerated low framerates after a while.
Shradow
30 fps is acceptable. But you shouldn't aspire not to do better, especially for some silly reason like "60 fps isn't as 'filmic'", that's pretty ridiculous to me.
Smear
30FPS on console and/or with a controller is fine. 30FPS on a PC with a keyboard and mouse is a lot more difficult to deal with. 60FPS is so much easier to handle on PC bc it helps me last hit in lol but shh
D.A._Sakuyamon
20 frame rate with any game is perfectly fine with me but if I can get 30 sure. I don't care about anything higher then that.
The Amazing Avian
I'm saving up for a pc that can make life look 8-bit. I will finally be able to laugh at console peasants. Until then, 30 frames it is.
