What intrigues me more is the fact that Mudkip has 1 less votes than yesterday.

I THINK that was Agro who changed their vote.

Anyway. Furret wins fair and square, even though I wanted latias to make it I'm fine with the outcome.

I understand people wanting a specific Pokemon to succeed, but it's not cool to mention wanting a specific Pokemon to fail, partly because it's mostly in the form of anti-Furret here. Come on, it's an awesome Pokemon. It's never too mainstream to like Furret.

Lets make Furret win it all while taking down powerhouses like the INSANELY overrated Lucario or Swampert/Blaziken families. The first step is already done, after all.

I'm also obliged to like Furret by virtue of the emotional impact it had on me as my first shiny ever and like the only good thing I did in 2013.

There are at least 500 pokemon I would choose over Furret.

Because, really, it's just kind of a boring Pokémon. :\

 

It should say something about my thoughts on it when I complain about the starters and legendary bias and then STILL don't want Furret to win.

Did someone mention wanting Furret to fail? I mean, besides the obvious that if you want something else to succeed you need it to fail.

And I just don't like Furret all too much. It's fine, but like Agro said there are many I like more. Mudkip and Latias both are in that category.

Mudkip to me was ruined by that Meme and Latias is all right..... Furret can have its uses.

If people didn't use that meme on Mudkip, it might've been considered much better in voting than it did. His final evolution is nice though, no questions over it (even though it does get a bit uglier).

 

Furret is good at Tricking its item onto an opponent, but as mentioned earlier, that's pretty much the only reason you'd run it [and even so, other Pokes can do it better] and really doesn't do much damage in return. As such, most of the Pokes that threaten to kill it outspeed and often have attacks that will silence the ferret once and for all. I don't hate it because it's weak in battles, but like J-Max and CowCow, there is a list of Pokemon that fall higher on my "like" list over Furret.

 

Latias took my vote because I find her to be very helpful in battles, especially since she has a nice typing and a good movepool with a good speed [highest of all Dragons prior to Gen 6] and Special Attack to work with in using them. Might also help that I fell in love with her after watching Pokemon Heroes. Like everything else, she has her weak points too but has better survival capacities than Furret (given she has access to three recovery moves [Roost/Recover/Rest; former two don't cause her to be an open target for several turns]; Furret has Rest, but is otherwise deadweight for two turns b/c lack of Sleep Talk); she can least take some stuff down before getting hit. Yeah, she is a legendary but not as overpowered as the ones sitting in Ubers (I'm looking at you, Arceus and every other version mascot in existence...)

 

Also, she starred in a movie (alongside her brother); can Furret boast the same?

 

 

On that note, if DL wants to do another vote to settle it once and for all, do it. Of course, if others don't want to and would rather push the ferret up to Round 3 otherwise; I can just say that I'm happy Latias did as well as she did.

Are you serious, Jason? You're using BATTLE CAPABILITIES as a main point? That does not work. If you wanted competitive viability, it would be a long time before one even reached Latias. Using competitive viability to judge which pokemon you like best is stupid because you are not only stating that your favorite pokemon is actually Kyogre without having much of a say in it.

Or, to give you another point: this is not a contest about which pokemon is the most powerful. That would mean nothing besides conformity to tiers based on popularity, considering most pokemon gain popularity on one or two uses or just go up a few tiers after finding an obscure strategy that actually works.

If your idea had ANY validity, then the results would be much different. Not to mention everybody would be voting for Pikachu for being the mascot and not because they like him, for your boasting about Latias being in a movie. Furret does not need to have a movie around it for people to think it's cute or badass. And really, I think it's way cooler than Mudkip and I even had one myself when I played Silver when I was like five or six. Way cuter than Latias anyway and I feel way more badass telling it to do things than...it. Oh, and I can just imagine the hole-crawling and such.

Furret deserves it.

Well, I wanna ask what CowCow did. Besides Agro saying Furret must lose, of course. I even bumped the screenshot up a page, as it won pretty fairly.  I would say it's never really mainstream at all to like Furret, from what I've seen, which you'd think would do something for me of all people, but regardless, it does for a good number of others, which is admittedly pretty awesome.
