Well, I've kinda been a Sheh fan since Orihime in Bleach. And she has done work before: Ayano Nakakouji, Yuka, Hostoire, Natalia, etc. But I'm also a Terri Hawkes fan since she made Serena much better. In fact I was shocked when S came out cause Serena didn't sound the same. Turns out they got a new voice actress because Hawkes was pregnant with twins. I'm not a big fan of the first episode because of Serena's mom kicking her out of the house, I'll just have to see how Higgins does Ami when that video comes out.
 
But wait... The ad said Episode 1-23 are coming out. Man I wish it was 1-24. That way we wouldn't have to wait months to see the redub of Nephrite's death.
 
But the biggest nail in the coffin is since it will be uncut, we won't hear awesome music like this:

Someone who favors ONLY the DiC/Cloverway dub of Sailor Moon. These people are oblivious, or even annoyed of the new Sailor Moon Redub and Crystal Guardians.

 

So now, Serena, Oh I'm sorry, Usagi sounds like Orihime, Luna sounds like Rukia and Darien, sorry again, Mamoru, sounds like SwaySway if he didn't speak urban.

Imma just continue watching Subbs, like I have been doing since '05.
The only things I like dubbed are:
Saint Saiya(Dat flock of Seagulls op)
DBZ
Gundam Wing
Both FMAs( Cant watch any other dub with these VAs)
Death Note
Digimon Adventure 1 and 02
original YGO
And YYH.

I want the creator of PGSM and YYH to make a one shot manga, I am sure they would both love doing it.

Well the dub doesn't come out until the 11th of November, so... there's that.

 

I prefer to call fans of the old dub "Serenites", to refer to the "We Want Serena" "campaign". Also it doesn't use a "z" for the sake of poor literacy being kewl.

Tell that to the guy who invented the term "Genwunners".

 

But I've yet to hear about what people think of Luna's new voice as compared to the old.and what they think of the new VA interview.

Bump: Okay, I can't just list my fave episodes. I have to be like Quarter Guy, Fawful's Minion, etc and elaborate:

[spoiler=10. Sailor V Makes the Scene]

The episode starts off with Zoi/Zoycite getting chewed out by Queen Beryl. So s/he tells the Queen of a plan to trap Sailor Moon and have Tuxedo Mask trade the Orange and Violet Rainbow Crystals in exchange for her life, then Malachite/Kunzite tells tells the queen he will accompany her/him for this mission revising the plan to capture all the sailor scouts in exchange for the crystals. The plan starts out with Zoi/Zoycite posing as Sailor Moon and stopping crimes, which catches the attention od Luna, Darien/Mamoru and Serena/Usagi and Lita/Makoto. Sensing something is wrong they follow her/him to an abandoned wherehouse where the four scouts are trapped by Malachite/Kunzite's dark energy dome. Elsewhere Tuxedo Mask rescues the fake Sailor Moon but s/he stabs him in the shoulder with a crystal. Zoi/Zoycite blows off Tuxedo Mask's well mask and Queen Beryl recognizes him. All seems lost for Tuxedo Mask until a beam of light is shot abd while s/he was distracted they both disappear. As for the scouts all seems lost until who should arrive but the true fifth Sailor Scout, Sailor Venus who blasts Malachite/Kunzite's hands setting the others free. Their plan foiled Zoi/Zoycite and Malachite/Kunzite return under Beryl's command.

 

What I like about this episode is that it introduces so many plot points and pushes the story forward. The introduction of Sailor Venus and Artemis, Malachite/Kunzite proving how strong he is, the revelation of Tuxedo Mask's true identity. Man this is a lot. I still have 9 other episodes to cover.

And we have another reason to go to free sites. Apparently now youtube is putting the kaibosh on the old dub saying: "This video is not available in your country" for the first season.


That means that sites like YouTube aren't allowed to have it. Why, it's almost like posting the videos onto a site like YouTube was kind of an illegal thing to do. Looks like you'll have to use Hulu, then.

Episode two was an improvement over episode one, I think. The subs were worlds better, although whichever Toei subordinate is writing these scripts still sucks. This is one of the few legitimate reasons people still use fansubs. Anyway, Usagi's voice is less grating, and the whole ensemble felt much less clunky to me. I still hate that noodly CGI transformation, of course.

 

I'm also excited because it's going to be just like two or three episodes before we get past the little of Sailor Moon I've already seen.

Whelp. Hulu doesn't allow me to watch it because of not being in the US (even though I'm so close I thought I could have a shot at it working.... it does for cell phones).

Thankfully, Crunchyroll saved me there. It seems to be working so far a few moments into the episode..... good. goood.

 

Astro Dude doesn't look banned o.o" I suppose if it's not permanent, it no longer changes the member stat from "member" to "banned" or a scratched name. I wonder if he knows he was hit?..

Astro Dude has been banned for a week, and banning him doesn't necessarily make that apparent unless you get to his profile and see that he's been suspended.

Anyway, I'm really liking the pace of these episodes. We also got some more expressions, which is nice since people have been overreacting to a supposed "lack" of them.

i watched the first episode of Crystal just last night, its not bad at all, but im not really convinced that this series is anywheres near the original (which i was expecting), the transformation scene was cringe worthy to me. ill still watch episode 2 sometime, but im not 100% excited about it

I dont see why there needs to be a comparison between the two, when PGSM Crystal is to PGSM manga as FMA Brotherhood is to FMA manga

Uh, there's a comparison because they both exist and are both Sailor Moon. I mean, I think the Epic Fandom Fite between the '03 FMA and Brotherhood is silly, but not because they shouldn't be compared.

 

I first saw Sailor Moon about three months ago, and it really is just better than Crystal. It's more interesting, funnier, Usagi is more of an awful person (yes, this is a positive), Usagi and Mamoru are antagonistic instead of "who is this mysterious person? *blush*". Crystal is a lot faster and a little more serious, both of which I appreciate, and I (and no one else) like the new character designs, and the show looks prettier...sort of...kinda. Even the CGI transformation would be okay if it didn't have the creepy noodle-legs.

 

Basically what I'm saying is that Sailor Moon Crystal is literally Hitler and all anime made after Cowboy Bebop are shit. True fact.

This preview comes from the true fifth episode dubbed. I hate to admit it but Cindy Robinson does a great Queen Beryl. On par with:

Legretta the Quick from Tales of the Abyss. Todd on the otherhand must've used his Death the kid voice for Jed... Jadeite. Not bad at all.

 

Speaking of, I have some ideas for other dub previews. Viz, if you're reading this, take notes:

 

Amy/Ami's introduction: The arcade scene from Computer School Blues where Usagi/Serena is quite shocked at how good she is. We'll also hear Andrew's new voice.

 

Rei/Raye's intro: Serena/Usagi and co. visit the temple for the first time. We'll also see who will voice Rei's grandpa.

 

The parent's intro: I see it like this (Since I don't know the parents names, I'll list the first names of the new va's):

Keith: Honey, why do you have today's date circled in red magic marker?

Tara: I don't know. Maybe there's something special about today.

Keith: You mean like how it's our anniversary and and how I'll treat you to a romantic dinner?

Tara: Oh you do remember.

 

Something like that.


I see you're trying to ruin the comparison.

 

Those were youtube videos so that people could compare the two episodes without having to go to hulu. I don't remeber there being a rule about posting full episodes from youtube being forbidden. In fact, Let's get a few things straight:

 

1. I am eight years older than you.

2. I have been a member here longer than you.

 

Other than that, let us not try to interfere with each other's business.

Then I wanna be a Mod too. How do I do so? And we use Youtube videos so we can compare how different the episodes are from each other here.

 

Remember post number 52 here? That was to show how different the new show was from the old. I was just doing that again except youtube doesn't have the original episode subbed. Again, it was to prove how different the new Sailor Mercury introduction was from the old.

 

I'm just trying to show my support for the old version of the show so it doesn't fade away into obscurity like the old dubs of One Piece, K-On, and Fairy Tail.
