Gimme Fantasy Anime

Fate/Zero and Magi are awesome fantasy action series.

From the New World is a fantastic fantasy mystery. It was a novel adaption and it shows.

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha I've heard is Spice and Wolf Lite (never saw SW), so if you liked that, go for it.

Ixion Saga Dimension Transfer is a decent fantasy comedy if you like stupid comedy. Otherwise, I'd avoid.

If by "good" you mean anime "we" like and/or don't think are bad, then maybe I can list some.

Any Digimon is a good Fantasy (although I haven't seen any past ep 7 of Savers)

And as mentioned Magi, but also

Shakugan no Shana (before the last season)

Tsubasa Chronicle

Zetsuen no Tempest

SHIN SEKAI YORI! YES!

That is honestly one of the most well constructed and original animes I have ever seen, and it does so without relying on violence or action to keep people's attentions.

'Good' is subjective.

Hitsugi no Chaika, damn decent ongoing one

Maoyuu as one of the above mentioned, I liked it more than Spice and Wolf

Ixion Saga as well

Tales of Phantasia OVA, 4 episodes, cut a lot of things out from the game, but as a standalone I liked it

Queen's Blade - Lots of boobs, lovely, fantasy itself is meh but at least its there

MAR - Liked it when I was younger

Zero no Tsukaima - Saw first season, was nice

Kinda hard to think, cuz I don't really look out for them, but that's something at least.

I'll suggest "Ki ba" because it's basically the battling mechanics of pokemon mixed in with the magic of Fairy Tale and the politics and moral discussions of Code Geass.

Oh, and if you haven't watched Shin Sekai Yori (From the New World), you need to get your ass on that this instant because it's one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Oh, how could I forget that one, that's a good choice.

What do you mean by that? The last season was the best one.

Well, as was said, this is subjective. I didn't like the last season, that's all I "mean by that".

Now that we know there's someone here that also liked the last season, I guess Shakugan no Shana as a whole might be a good suggestion, so that.

Orphen

did i mention orphen?

Yes.

Really liked Fate/Zero.

Magi was meh.

From The New World was really good.

Maoyuu was meh.

Don't like stupid comedy.

Might try Digimon... I'll have a look.

Shakugan no Shana, I'll have a look.

Tsubasa Chronicle, I'll have a look.

Zetsuen no Tempest was good... until the second half.

Hitsugi no Chaika, I'll have a look.

Tales of Phantasia, I'll have a look.
Queen's Blade, I've heard bad things about it... I might eventually have a look
MAR, I don't like childish-looking shows.
Zero no Tsukaima, am watching this. Meh, but I like pure fantasy so yeah.
Dog Days, seen few episodes of it, didn't really care for it, might give it a go again later
Madoka Magica, really good
Orphen, I'll have a look at it.
Wolf's Rain, yep, planning to watch this
Infinite Stratos, no thanks. Tried it, didn't like it.
Vampire Knight, doesn't look like something I'd like.
Inuyasha, I'll have a look someday, but I'm not a fan of long ones
Baka To Test, not really fantasy, but I watch an episode every now and then.

Ki ba, I'll have a look.

Thanks for the recommendations. Any high fantasy?

That show is the slowest thing in existence, even for Japanese story pacing. I've tried to watch it three different times and never got anywhere with it despite being almost a couple dozen episodes in each time.

I liked it, but I guess I agree. If this were before the second season, you wouldn't know it'd end without really ending. I guess he doesn't have to take a look at this, then.

High fantasy. Well...there's Claymore. And there's Berserk. And there's...I mentioned Claymore, right? Berserk, too? Okay, well, other than that there's...Berserk. And Claymore. Claymore's good. Berserk's not too shabby, either.

Yeah, uh, unless your definition of "high fantasy" is "otaku jerk-off power fantasy", I can't think of much. If your definition of "high fantasy" does, for some reason, include "otaku jerk-off power fantasy", the best in that...can I call it a genre?...would probably be No Game No Life (which is currently airing), and I think Outbreak Company was pretty good, too. I wouldn't know. I don't watch crap*.

*EDITOR'S NOTE: This statement is false.

Don't hate, No Game No Life is flawed but fun to watch and does not take itself too seriously unlike a certain other SAOtaku pandering show. Claymore... eh, didn't have a good first impression of it, it seemed really generic and I've read the manga a long time ago and don't remember liking it too much. The Berserk manga is amazing, so I'll eventually get to watching that.

I think you'd enjoy The World Is Still Beautiful.

Will have a look.

That reminds me, another good fantasy/sci-fi series (if you like calm, philosophical shows) is Kino's Journey. Definitely one of my favorites.

Yeah, I quite like what I've watched of it. Currently have it on hold.
